They could have sold him if they were that concerned about him. He had a so so season. He will come good.
-
Not necessarily.
-
Just to add btw, I think the biggest risk with Dan will be his head and how he recovers mentally. Physically he will likely be stronger after all the metal work, kid will be like the f#####g terminator. He’s took a few knocks now, for a sch a young lad, his battle is going to be in the head. I think he’s a huge gamble.
-
Completely agree
-
In the right environment you could well be right. As it stands I think BV, Swindon, Wolves and Kings lynn (assuming the predictions are correct) have a better HL combination than Peterborough. I’ll always favour youth and riders who are developing, and getting onto the next level or are at least maintaining a level at number 1. For me Peterborough don’t tick any of those boxes but I guess time will tell.
-
Craig has always been very committed to bv and for that I will always be grateful. However. He just isn’t as good as he thinks he is and when he has the number 1 on his back, goes missing. In those huge moments, those big big races, I never felt confident and many bv fans I know felt the same. He does a lot of talking Craig. He needs to zip the mouth, head down, and focus on becoming on what he thinks he can be. He had the world at his feet last season. Shown up in the GP, lost his spot to an 18 year old in Polska, and had to drop down a league in the uk to make ends meat. This season can’t get a gig abroad. Doubling up again. That’s what Craig is. A decent British rider. Average joe. Compare to Robert Lambert this season, their trajectories will be poles apart.
-
See my above post He was also having a poor season and was basically about to drop Britain. He wasn’t coming to the Uk this season until bv picked up the phone. like I said, horses for courses. Everything just seems to work for him at the nss and when he pulls on a bv race jacket
-
Horses for courses. Bjerre has always been a very good rider for BV. How he rides for other clubs isn’t comparable. He seems very much at home at BV, and the majority of fans will vouch for what I’m about to say. He is a proper number 1 for us. He was the only one who got anywhere near Lindgren when he was knocking out a tune. Often beating him infact. Some of those mentioned riders have slightly lower averages but they are all improving. In Andersen/Harris you have riders that are well seasoned but who are on the decline. Cook is just cook. He will have about a 7 to 8 point average. Give me a HL trio of Holder/Kurtz and Fricke any day over Peterborough’s.
-
Max Fricke. Robert Lambert. Kenneth Bjerre Jason Doyle Troy Batchelor NKI Tobias Museliak Brady Kurtz Jack Holder I can go on if you wish. All those are either currently better or will become better. As for Bjerre, your statement simply isn’t true. Have a look at scores in the play offs for bv in 17 and compare to cook. Nice little example for you there.
-
The club have got the team building bang on this off season. When you have to shave over 3 points off your team total its always going to make it hard but they have delivered imo. Bjerre is a better rider than cook. It’s as simple as that. Yes he was poor by his standards last season but you know Kenneth will bounce back. He enjoys the nss and is an out and out number 1. Fricke is a huge talent and has got progressively better every season. So given what we had to lose, to end up with a top 2 like that and on those averages is major win. It’s enabled us to go out and get quality 2nd strings and quality reserves, although Lidsey is an unknown quantity. I think that this years team is better than last years. Quite the achievement under such difficult conditions.
-
Over wells? No.

You can count me in the minority. It most certainly isn’t sour grapes. I am a fan of Craig’s commitment but that’s where it ends. Bjerre on a lower average is a much better rider than Craig and it was absolutely the correct decision. Craig is a nearly man. Nearly does a lot of things but never quite gets it in full. He’s a 3rd HL in this league. The time was right. I’m not entirely sure why bv supporters are gutted tbh. They get lost in the euphoria of his passion and commitment but forget that he’s a distinctively average rider who thinks he’s better than he is. Peterboro will not have a number 1 in that team. Cook and Harris were 1 and 5 for Glasgow in a division lower last season. Andersen is half decent but he is no number 1 anymore. Like Craig, a 2nd to 3rd HL. Harris imo is done at the highest level. He’s a 2nd string.
-
On his limited visits, he has done very well. In fact he surprised me somewhat in the craven meeting, he was dynamite .
-
Against Fricke and Bjerre? Not a chance. It’s an absolute no brainer of a choice. 2 riders who ride in the top polish league vs a washed up former gp rider in hans, and one who tried and failed and can’t get even get a ride overseas. Its literally not even a debate.
-
You know who your 7 riders are. The top 3 are distinctly average.
-
Yoyr absolutely right about the gulf but I don’t think it’s the right point to emphasise it, because I think this Peterborough team is vastly over rated. It’s a reasonable top 3, nothing more. They will struggle in the bigger races.
-
I don’t often agree with Geoff but he’s bang on here. That Swindon team has a long tail and will struggle on the road. One of those heat leaders has a bad day and there will be trouble
-
This will be a very good team. A solid top 2, as good as anything in the league imo. Then good 2nd strings of which any will step up on a given night and become a 3rd heat leader. Oh and strong reserves. Will be a play off team I have no doubt about that.
-
No but he’s coming. The team I posted earlier will be the 7, unless we have unforeseen circumstances
-
There isn’t much between them really. I like KB. He’s consistent and flys round the NSS. That’s a really, really strong top 2 that.
-
Happy with that. Guess Lindsey is a 4 then Fricke Worral Wells Bewley Bjerre Berge Lidsey
-
Yes but Wells is better.
-
Reading that statement again, I think another part of the wording is key. The club said he was informed he was out of ‘initial’ team plans. That would suggest they had potentially left the door open but I’m absolutely certain Craig would have had some sort of inclination. It it sounds like sour grapes to me and both parties could share some blame here. He shouldn’t be running his mouth on social media. Keep it in house, if your going to say something in public then do it like Tungate did. He’s now completely burnt his bridges and that is just silly. An 8 year relationship should never end that way.
-
I would think so. I’d love him at bv though. On that type of track he’s such an aggressive rider. Was really impressed with his visits last season.
-
So he’s basically just acknowledged that something was going on, by playing ‘table tennis’ up until the end of the month. Swings and roundabouts this. Wish both parties the best for 2019
