Absolutely, which is why we should be using the best of the young talent we have and not be focused on winning it when Tai isn’t a part of it. With Tai, we would actually have half a chance, his quality speaks for itself and I think he makes Lambert a better rider. Robert should have been number 2, Dan Bewley should have been the reserve and Craig should have been taken in case the rubbish hit the fan or one of the main 2 was way off the pace. Given what happened with Tai, for me it should have been Lambert and Cook with Dan at reserve but just give Dan the rides. Craig steps in for injury. Take Kemp as a number 4. Its a really simple solution, and for the life of me I will never understand why we took Bomber. I just don’t get it at all. It’s a horrific decision and it is pretty clear that Tai is not at all happy about it. I don’t think he is having the sway he wants and what started as a promising regime now has shades of what had in the previous one and it’s just a matter of time before tai pulls the plug unless we sort it.

No but it shouldn't matter anyway. Chris was a half straight behind there, and they are long ass straights! People are moaning because we are sick to the teeth of s##t decision making and we are going back in time. Its scandalous. Tai is bang on. And this track is bombers worst nightmare. You need 2 things he has never had. The ability to gate and speed.

I’m sorry but that is rubbish. Certainly this season where he is coming back from serious injuries. I will bet my last penny that in the next 2/3 years Dan will be established on the continent alongside Lambert. He’s already got a place in Sweden and is making the right noises. He is a rider full of potential and at his age, given the rapid progress he has made, he is way way above those in his age group. As for Wright, he is just a bang average rider who would be totally out of his depth on the continent. Wouldn’t last a week.

This is where a positive reaction and solid management is required. Nobody would expect dan to score a hatful of points and that would need to be made clear. It’s all about learning, having the experiences in foreign countries against the worlds best riders. In the short term we will not expect to see results but in the medium to long term we will. Team GB is full of journeymen riders, some actually pretty young like the Worrall brothers, who will never make it because they haven’t had the right background to be competitive at the highest level. The Poles get their kids out against top riders very early and that is why they are streets ahead. If you want to beat the best you have to be a part of that scene otherwise you just become a solid British rider in you’re own nation and that is what has happened in the last decade. If we want international success in the long term we have to change our approach, stop pretending that we can major tournaments which in turn makes us take the riders without the background who we foolishly think can deliver something: Time to change the mentality and start working from the ground up with our youngsters and start giving the correct experience to be competitive at the top level.

It’s not that it isn’t worth winning. That mentality is counter productive. Take Tai out, and we will never win it with our current mentality and that is what needs to change. Take a few years coming last and scoring nothing, as a nation we have to get this winning thing out of our heads whilst we take a step back to take 2 steps forward. It’s about the long term. Kemp has done nothing to justify a place, but it’s only that way if you are looking to win it. If it is being treated as a platform for our development then he should absolutely be there. As for cook you are right, he will not get a look in next year. My argument is that he shouldn’t have a look in this year either! This is whole point I’m trying to make.

The others are club journey men because of moments exactly like this one. Lets not make the same mistake twice. Bewley and Lambert should be the main 2, with Kemp or the like at reserve. I’m not remotely interested in winning it. Im not remotely interested in what other nations do. I’m not remotely interested if it’s a world final. Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert are our future. With the greatest of respect, they will not learn much off Cook and Harris, 2 journeymen.

An in form bewley thrown in against the best in the world would be pants. Its not the point. Experience in a pit bay is useless, he needs to be out on the race track. If he gets beat up, so what. He will take that away and learn, and if he’s being managed correctly it won’t be allowed to get in his head. Everything about it is positive.

The GP challenge has no relationship to the point I was making. We are never winning it without Tai, so this has now become about opportunities and we have blown it. Sounds to me like we have took a step back under this regime and it’s actually the type of thing that would have happened a few years back, when Woffinden wanted no part of team GB. I would love to hear Tai’s opinion on it, I’ll bet my mortgage he is not a happy man. And if it’s Rossiter that has made this call, well I fear trouble on the horizon.

Track will be a leveller. Cook goes well here and is a trapper, always useful on a gaters track. Dont agree with taking Harris. We have to start moving past this to be quite honest. His day at this level is done and frankly we have better riders that could take it, namely Dan Bewley. Injury or not, for the experience this is the time to start blooding the younger riders, it's a golden opportunity to give them international experience but we dont, because we 'think we can win it' It drives me mad. This is the very reason we dont make progress because we take past it has beens that are stepping on the toes of the next generation and I'll never agree with it. Bomber is patriotic and I'm sure a top human who will love this opportunity but he should never have been on the plane.

I’d take him at BV in a heartbeat. Goes round the NSS really well.
