  1. Poor meeting. Track not developed like it usually does. Shame. Hopefully a better 2nd half
  2. She does my head in. Not a microphone voice in any way. She’s a nice lady by all accounts, general dogs body at the club but she should be nowhere near the mic
  3. It’s going to be grippy it’s pissed down for 48 hours solid! Itll break around heat 8 it always does
  4. Looking like a decent crowd on the planner. I'd say grandstand is about 70% sold, plus whatever walk up sales we get so at least 2k in there, and probably another 1k on the back straight. With a bit of good fortune we may break the 3k mark tonight which will look much better on the tv!
  5. Indeed and that is the only reason I’m going, despite all the negativity around the actual quality of the field is most definitely very well balanced and on this track, that generally equates to top quality racing. All the noise left out, in terms of an actual motorsport spectacle I am really looking forward to it.
  6. Lambert won’t score a point. Really unfortunate what happened to Kyle in the semi. Danny Ayres has been in sparkling form, yesterday discounted, and appears to have moved on a level this season so it’s nice to see him in the event.
  7. The gap between the 2 leagues is smaller than ever. Frankly they are both of a poor standard. It is the higher level in name only, and I think that is the point Steve is trying to make.
  8. Every single one of that field, apart from Bewley, race in the championship so yes, it’s lower level. The standard of British speedway, and tonight is the best we can do, is really clear with this line up.
  9. Agreed and why I’m routing for Dan. I want to see how he handles a GP. With the greatest of respect to Craig we know already how he performs in the series so I’m hoping he is well away from the final. Reality though is he will be there or there about. Im going purely because it’s an even field and that equates to good racing at the NSS so for me it’s all about a good quality motorsport event. In terms of significance though, its immaterial in the grander scheme and frankly one of the worst line ups I’ve seen in a British final.
  10. He has ridden in the Swedish league for Rospigarna since that dead leg Dan is fine. And I expect he will price as much tonight
  11. Essentially now just a glorified premier league meeting. A truly awful line up but at the same time, a huge opportunity for Dan Bewley. You can only beat what you are given. PS all the best to Robert that’s not a pleasant injury
  12. The meeting will be on. Dont know why people fret. The forecast tomorrow is dry. All of this rain water over the last few days will be gone and they will be watering the track by mid afternoon.
  13. So many things about this post that make me sad. You are right. His own form, injuries and the quality of the field will ensure he is there about. But christ how far the British champion standard has fallen.
  14. Lambert has had 2 pearlers over the last 8 days, I can’t imagine he will be 100%. Had he been he would have won it at a canter. As it is I think it’s now a little more open and I’m sticking my neck out here, but I see Dan Bewley winning this now.
  15. Not a chance bv will do anything over 2 legs in a play off. Need to make some changes. Worrall to go, he’s been dreadful this season. Aarnio a disaster although he’s constantly getting hurt, so make a change there as well. Bellego is available? Need to be all over it, him for Steve and possibly Garrity for Tero of those fit
  16. He won’t need to put any money in after he retires. The idea is he invests now whilst he is racing and leaves the sport self sufficient. The level of ineptitude on these pages is absolutely staggering.
  17. I think he cares deeply and his comments yesterday only reaffirm my point of view. Thats a man with passion for his nation, but crucially with the knowledge, medals and titles to back it up. If GB don’t start listening and cooperating with a man of his stature then he will walk away and that is just sacrilege. Absolutely phenomenally stupid decision making. He has the people and the knowledge in his team to begin the transformation of British speedway and imo should be allowed to do exactly that.
  18. I completely agree but they won’t take the risk of not being paid or being dropped after a poor performance because that is the risk. In this country we just don’t have enough raw talent. By that I mean kids who just step on a speedway bike and hit the ground running. Dan is the closest we have to that and actually did very well in Poland in his first season, but that’s actually a case in point given it seems that relationship has soured for whatever reason. The British riders can comfortably stay and make a living in the British league with no aspirations to be successful internationally because they don’t need to, and it’s too much risk. I would actually forget Poland for our kids and focus on getting into Sweden first where there is more stability to provide a stepping stone. The poles are very good at looking after their own. The other solution is to strengthen the British league with international riders but we just can’t afford to do that. It’s the devil and the deep blue sea for the sport here. We have some decent young kids coming through now but they will learn nothing riding this league and will just get caught up in the merry go round.
  19. If he was thinking of his welfare he wouldn’t have been in the squad. Dan ridden in Sweden on the Tuesday after his Peterborough crash and scored a respectable paid 7. He is clearly fit and alluded to as much on his twitter timeline and by all accounts, reading between the lines of that tweet, he is not at all happy with Rossiter and his comments. It was a terrible interview and represented everything that is currently wrong with British Speedway. His thought train is old fashioned and it’s people like him that need putting out to pasture at this point. He is not fit for the role.
  20. I think it probably has been kept in house up to this point. However there comes a point where you have to speak out if you are not being heard. Tai needs to be listened to and if that means it upsets the status quo then it’s tough luck. British Speedway needs one almighty shake up and we have the perfect candidate sitting there willing to lead it. So let him do it.
