Wednesday June 04, 2014 CRADLEY Heath Speedway are delighted to announce British Speedway President Tony Mole is to link up with the club to take charge of their new track project. The club believe Tony has an unequalled record in bringing the sport back to areas of the country which have been starved of speedway for years. And although the Heathens are thriving at their shared Wolverhampton base, the management members remain determined to take them to a new home. Promoter Gary Patchett said: Tony will need no introduction to our supporters after all but bringing the club to a new home in Colley Gate nearly 10-years ago and his success in bringing defunct clubs back to the sport is unparalleled. Tonys brief will be to advise on any site possibilities but with a specific focus on the potential site we have had on the radar for some time. Mole was the man responsible for taking the sport back to Workington in 1999 and Birmingham in 2007. He has also rescued struggling clubs down the years like Hull, Oxford and Stoke. Based in Kidderminster, Mole remains a regular visitor to Cradley meetings at Monmore Green and was on the terraces at Dudley Wood in his younger days. Great news and we need this to happen as I don't see many others having sucsses at bringing a Cradley track back!

Simon Lambert also rides for Mildenhall... 'Stefan Nielsen and Simon Lambert come in for Joe Jacobs and Brendan Johnson respectively – and with British Under 21 champion Josh Bates out they can use rider replacement for him.' (Cradley Website) Should be a cracker, I think Starke and Worrall will have to much power tonight, Perry at Reserve should get a healthy double figure score. Willamson at 2 needs to get above 5 for a good night for the Heathens!

Im going to as I expect it to be a good meeting between two teams who could get to the play-offs! Really looking forward to watching Woffinden ride again, watching NL racing with Cradley you realise the gap in standard when your turn up at Wolves! Should be a belter!
-
Rubbish...why do they keep taking the pinical of the sport to stadiums and venues not built for speedway and thats Cardiff included! Its ruins the sport and that tonight was discustingly bad...I dont understand the need to build a track when there are so many already in europe.

Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
Hunty replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
I would attend but I dont want it to happen. As we are now is the only viable way of running our speedway team, if we were to move up a league then EVERYTHING increases. We would have more fixtures, higher wages, higher admission prices, season tickets would go from £120 to around £250 and I dont see many taking that option after having the luxury of £10 speedway which is what you get with a season ticket, it can be less if we go to Cup and Play Offs to around £7.50 For me it all comes down to getting our own track, our aim was to bring Cradley back and to be racing on our own track...not to be renting out Monmore in the PL forever. When that happens then we would have the capabilities of going PL. We wouldnt be paying rent, we wouldnt loosing out on food sales that at Monmore are huge the amount of chips and hot dogs eaten is amazing (I had one last night). We would take our own takings, it maybe that we would be sharing with a football club and a the dogs at our own home but agreements on our terms would help us. The issue that has arose from these ommerings is what needs to be done in the NL to bring it back to a level playing feild...People are now wanting Cradley to step up due to sucsess when that is not the real issue. I think im in the minority of Cradley fans but stepping up into PL without our own track would just be a step to please the fans and not in the best intrest of the club! -
To be quite frank I didnt understand it it well, I thought i just had £200 quid to bet with and we would see who made the most money at the end of it! I didnt know I had to pay up on what I had already paid up! Didnt really read the rules...oh well its one less thing to worry about doing every few weeks and im near the top of TNT's

Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
Hunty replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
First heat was a belter, then we had proberbly two other heats where Carr and Atkin had a bash at stopping the 5-1's but failed. Young Woolley got a second place and the Heathens fans mocked with cheers. It was predicatble and underwhelming and something has got to be done to make the teams more consistant. Ive said on my twitter feed that the league needs a Maximum points limit that is around 38points and then a Minimum points limit around 35 points to bring the teams in line and the quality between them all is spread out. Its no-ones fault as the rules are now set in stone for this season but it was clear to see from the off a now a two tiered league is now developing. This league is and should always be about brining young british riders through, however if its not competative then you might aswell have practice nights which in reality was what this meeting was tonight. Buxton in there first meeting and they got nowhere near the Heathens at all who were just flying around with no pressure and filling there boots. 83 points the Heathens management will have to pay tonight and if they are sticking to the £10 a point rule then they better hope the crowds do keep coming as there wont be much left to build a stadium if that ever happens! -
http://www.ommerum.co.uk/2014/04/preview-cradley-heathens-v-buxton.html Lastest post on my blog... Should be a simple victory this one but when looking at this years league its becoming more and more a two tiered league. Even as a Cradley fan I belive we should be having teams simlar to what Buxton have put out this year with the empahsis on young three pointers. Something needs to be done sooner rather than later as this league is going to become a bit micky mouse with some high flyers and some teams that in my opinion are doing it the right way!

Very Dusty! Was drier than Gandi's Flipflop! The rain just before the rerun in heat 14 was what was needed the majoirty of the night! The dirt line moved out over the night and it wasnt a one line track! -

Coventry deserved to win, even with the dubious referee decision in heat 14 wouldnt have changed it to much! Coventry would have won by 2 points and not 3! I think people need to take a step back in the Cradley Fans camp and realise that its what happens in speedway, but it was a cracking night of speedway, watching 14 young lads give there all and there bodies to entertain us. And the highlight of the night was watching Oliver Greenwood go around the boards to pass Worrall, and then the same move to be completed by Starke and then Worall in heat 13! A great night of speedway ruined by people who forget its not about winning in this league, it is about developing young riders for Coventry Bees of the future and maybe even the Heathens in the PL.- 54 replies

Our number 3 Perry was outclassed by Covs number 3 Olly Greenwood who was the match winner! He was brilliant an will be atking the number one jacket soon if he keeps that it up cause he was amaazing! He went around the boards in one heat to pass worrall which was worth the entrance fee in itself! It was copied by Starke and Worrall in heat 13 for the 4-2 against Nielsen and Sarge! -

I went to Brandon tonight and it was another spectical of National League speedway! It was fantastic! Heathens were 8 points ahead and Coventry turned it around to take a win by 3 points! Brilliant stuff but mared by some! Heat 14 saw a horrific crash where Max Clegg ran over his teammate Danny Phillips...Phillips was in the lead but had to much speed into turn 3 and lay his bike down but was abosultly clatter by Clegg. Clegg ended up in the airfence and went in vertiical and he didnt come off his bike with it wedge in the fence! Then the first re run with Clegg and the two Storm riders was unsatisfactory as Clegg was left with no room after being sandwiched between the two rivals! All four back! 3rd re run and EXACTLY THE SAME HAPPENED! But the white light didnt come on (It was broke) but max was excluded! It was shocking and we had a right to be anoyed and boo but when Coventry celebrate a 5-0 the way they did was disrespectful....I find 5-0's embarassing when we do then and lightly clap the lads who have strolled around for four laps and picked up a healthy wage packet from it. But the way the Storm MANAGEMENT was going at it was disrispectful. Heat 15 was a 4-2 and the match went to Cov with a point to the Heathens but this is when I get anoyed with my own clubs fans because the threating behavior from alot is just not nice to see! Coventry management again didnt help the situation but they was just a bit over the top with the celebrating but for Heathens fans to try and climb into the pits for a fight is horrible! It ruined a great night of speedway and I once again came away feeling anoyed at our own fans who constantly do this! -
Stevie Worral will ride for both his teams, he rides at Poole at 11am and then he is going to Heathrow for a flight to get him to Edinburgh in the evening!

Looks as though Belle Vue are pushing to get this one done. Subject to the approval of official paperwork, Belle Vue Speedway hope to sign Steve Worrall on a full transfer from parent club Scunthorpe.

Hunty replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
As I stated before, the club is running well in the NL. We have good support because I think the price we charge is value for money at £11. However if we make a step up to the PL then you would see a nearly all British side as the club wont want to pay the flight fees and they would keep the costs down in everyway possible. It would be intresting to see how if our finances are as healthy as we all think and where the money were making is actually going if we are making any at all. Id sooner ride in the NL untill we get our own track and even then our first season in a new stadium should also be in the NL. Big steps lead to big mistakes! -
Double post!!!!

Really disapointed with the FTG racing tonight! Not much you can do but wasn't a spectical! The issue tonight with Belle Vue was at reserve, the one thing to point out from it was how many Draft picks were in the KL side tonight! Answer None! They got to use there own assets! Coventry and KL have NL sides and in which case they can select who they want before the draft not have the draps that Belle Vue got having the almost the last pick! Wanna succeeded in speedway over coming years! Invest in youth!
