But from good sources, the switch to Rodney Parade for the County has proved very successful. Would be brilliant if someone did look into taking speedway to the former County stadium, would be a very good venue and if as is said the council are keen to get the sport back to the city, then they may look at this.

Maybe because Morris was never announced as part of the field?! Hancock released a statement saying he would of raced had there been a place available but there wasnt. I despise riders who turn up at events like this and take the p**s... if all 16 riders turned up and done it how many fans would you see through the gate? Basically none. Its not just Bridger I dislikefor doing it, Adam Shields and Davey Watt are another pair who turned up at a Newport Classic before and didnt try a leg between them and scored about 4 points, Tim Stone was furious and dont think he invited them back again. As I posted... when fans are paying normal rates to get in, standing round in baltic conditions, they want to see riders giving it their all, not half heartedly riding round on a blatantly uncompetitive bike. Its not the first time hes done it either.

When people are parting with money which equals what they part for a league meeting, they have the right to want to turn up and see a committed lineup. Read Debbie Hancocks PR before the meeting... Morris was here and willing to ride should a place become free. But Hancock didnt want to release anyone from the field because they were "committed". So instead of the Somerset fans in particular turning up to see their new second heatleader in action, they got to see an over rated Brit dicking about on an ancient bike, just like he done at Newport a year or two ago. Im sorry but out of season fun meeting or not, the riders should still take it seriously. Bridger wonders why people are always on his back... this is a prime example.

Roads Named After Speedway Riders ?

So you used the term "People like Pinstripe" despite me mentioning nothing about Poole? Yeah that makes sense! Lindgren fully does deserve a testimonial because he has ridden for 10 full seasons for Wolves as an asset. Thats good loyalty and its fully deserved. However, KK actually came to these shores before Lindgren and has always shown a desire to ride here, his Polish clubs have made things difficult for him sometimes but he has always maintained he is keen on riding British Speedway hence signing for clubs like BV when left out by Poole rather than sitting back in Poland waiting for a better offer. Lindback has not raced a full season here since 2006 and only came here at the back end of 2003, so despite being an asset of Poole for ten years he has raced only three seasons for them roughly and has shown zero interest in a job here except for his stint at BV in 07. Why he has even been mentioned is beyond me... the difference is clear cut... KK has raced here for ten seasons, Lindback hasnt. End of story. How you can say your using Lindback as support I do not know, Lindbacks scenario has nothing to do with this argument. I can kind of see your point regarding KK getting one despite not racing for the same club for ten years however many, many riders have been granted ten year testimonials despite racing for various teams during that time span. Maybe Loram didn't want a testimonial... Craig Watson was offered one and never had one nor did he have a farewell meeting. Don't assume that because they never had testimonials they didn't want one.
-
For crying out loud, your yet again making things up!!! Where have I stated its anti Poole? Your the one whos brought Poole into this, not me! KK has given British Speedway ten years of service, just like many other riders down the years have done and been granted a special meeting. The days of being awarded a meeting for riding ten full seasons for one club are long gone, just look down the list of riders who have had a testimonial over the ast few years. Your getting stick from me because in one topic you have made three arguments up... nobody said KK was more deserving of a testimonial than Lindgren, nobody said Lindback was due a testimonial and nobody has mentioned it being to do with Poole. You get stick on this forum because of posts like the ones youve contributed here!
-
And of course, youve never gone off topic on a thread before?
-
You really are just trying to make an argument out of nothing. Where has anyone stated Lindback is due a testimonial? I am under the impression these meetings are given for 10 , 20 or 30 years to British Speedway. KK has done ten. Where have I stated that KK is more deserving of one than Lindgren? Lindgren is having his as well, so whats the fuss? KK is one of a few top class Poles who have always shown a willingness to ride in this country. There are plenty of riders down the years who have had testimonials without committing to the same club for the said amount of time. It seems you are just trying to make an argument but as per usual your theory holds no water.

Riders go where their offered the best deals its as simple as that, anyone who thinks they chose their club because of "the benefits" are wrong. You can be sure the SRBF meeting was sod all to do with any rider signing for Berwick.... otherwise you'd have the likes of Harris, Barker, Korneliussen etc on the phone to Anderson begging for a team place. Although I am sure the Berwick PR guru will find a paragraph or two stating they'd love to ride there if it was an EL club! There is no doubt the Andersons have made Berwick a more attractive place to ride since Waite's reign but like the Malletts with Newport, are the crowds any better or even as good as when the previous promoter was in charge?

All three are streets ahead of Tai out of EL racing.
-
The last time he broke his leg he was back within a month... he broke his leg in August and still isn't fully fit yet will be in time for March... so it has taken him longer than the last time.
-
Or maybe they were just simply offered good points money and deals for 2013? TBH its 99.999% the reason why riders sign for a club
-
Apparently.
-
He is 33.... he will probably go on to finish his career in the EL (cant see him ever dropping to the PL)... I'd say he probably has 5 years left in him at EL level . He isn't world class any more and isn't getting better but still a solid EL number 1 and will do a heatleaders job for years to come. Regardless of the £4000ish loan fee last season, thats irrelevant. He should be valued from 2013 onwards and I am sorry but £6 or £8 thousand is no where near what he is worth. Even if he did only do 3 more seasons, thats £4000 a year loan fees making him worth £12000. Thats double Swindons initial offer and I can see him goingfor longer than 3 years.
-
Swindon offered £6000, then £8000 to buy Andersen?! Is it any wonder Peterborough turned them down! Two insulting offers .
-
Looks a tidy team, the one question mark is Bjerre though. Coming back from a nasty broken leg whilst going through a very poor spell last season as well as always going missing in the play offs... I reckon he is a huge risk.
-
lol! you werent saying that not long ago talk about u turns!
-
Even NKI?! After years of insisting he was nothing more than a 7/8 pointer?
-
It wasnt when Andersen first came across he said when he first joined Peterborough... wasn;t he at Poole for 2 or 3 years prior to signing for the Panthers?
-
Yet again one rule for one and one rule for another... what a total effing joke the powers that be are in this country.
-
Also the fact people turn out at meetings dressed in wulfsport crap, donnay trackies, lonsdale trainers, kappa jumpers along with program boards, tip ex, assorted pens for the program etc etc... listening to a track that didnt even make the top ten in the 70s over the tannoy has a big part to play... try moving with the times!
-
Probably because the sport is in a big crisis and not much money is on offer?! Maybe last season he was on a contract based on any potential improvement Sheffield seen in him i.e improvement to a 7.5-8.0 rider...it didn't happen so they now want to pay him based on his average? He is no big hitter in the PL... far better riders about.
-
Not a bad side I think Kurtz at reserve will prove a masterstroke, he had a very good 2011 with Newport and although his average dropped in 2012 he was at #2 all season in a struggling side.
