  1. He has been moaning about the track, wrong size and all that nonsense... He did it last week and done it this season, did he make the same comments when he posted high scores last season? The problem is clearly not the track - away teams certainly seem able to ride it.
  2. What was he doing then? From the comments ive read here, it seems he was
  3. In fairness its the same in any sport, you have fans unhappy with certain peoples performances and have to expect them to air their views. The berwick track is reportedly better than ever now though - so its a bit of an insult to the promotion for a three point reserve to start slagging the track off. I think it would be best for all concerned at berwick if edberg was to be released... He cant keep blaming his scores on the track. Its been roughly the same ever since it opened has it not?
  4. Thats rolling averages. His 2013 average alone is below 4.00 a meeting, or was last time i looked.
  5. The authorities were clearly worried top riders wouldnt take part until the final line up was confirmed hence the news of harris' wild card being announced after the final line up was sorted Shocking decision... Since the wild card place has been a prize we have seen superb british finals with all top riders going for it Now harris is out of the gp lineup fulltime they stop the highest finisher out of gps from getting the wildcard... Coincidence? I dont think so Hope harris gets five fat zeros and proves what a joke this decision is
  6. No fan of Tai but its superb to see a brit mixing it at the top Still baffled as to how he got invited back for the rerun of the semi... Completely took pedersen out. Should of been excluded without doubt Not sure on Ward but id put money on nicki lining up for the next gp... Still in with a big shout this year, two rostrums and a semi final to his name. Cant rule him out.
  7. Aspegren has always been inconsistent, awesome to watch when in full flight, some of his passes are unreal, but hes prone to go through spells with low scores with the odd good ride. The woeful score from Morris cost the bandits lastnight but three home defeats already doesnt look good , if ashworths out long term then a replacement needs to be found. As proved lastnight guests canot be relied on every meeting
  8. Get rid of Koppe, other riders have been dropped on assessed figures despite the ruling. Its quite clear that even from reserve hes going to get nowhere near a 5.00 figure
  9. Pisstake Another nail in the coffin for british speedway
  10. Rene Bach really seems to of stalled after showing so much promise early on in his career at newcastle
  11. The majority of fans would choose big boring home wins over home losses with good racing
  12. So its more than possible that considering both Dyer and Edberg were on roughly the same figure, Dyer would of been a cheaper option?
  13. You maybe right... however I doubt very much Dyer was demanding what Aspegren is getting . Is Edberg always based in Berwick then, as if he is based in Sweden and flys in each week thats hardly cheap for a 4.00 rider. His current 4 home 2 away figure is 3.83. Hardly impressive. Compare that to Dyers figure of 7.44 from 3 home and 4 away. I know Berwick have had financial troubles and were on the verge of closing but you must look at it from the other side... would another season of mid to bottom table improve crowd figures? Theyve lost two at home already - will their new sponsors be impressed enough to stay for a second season? As stated it was unlikely Edinburgh were planning to use Dyer... he went to Berwick for a spell last season, impressed and on that starting figure he should of been recalled instead of one of the other reserves the Bandits now have. It is therefore a huge cock up from Berwick going with Edberg instead of Dyer. Edberg wont come cheap, Swedes never do. As for the off night for Robin on Saturday, well as people have stated before thats what you get with him. Hes superb to watch when in full flight but can quite as easily have an off match and struggle, its the type of rider he is.
  14. But Doyle for Aspegren and Barker for Ashworth doesnt fit obviously and they didnt race for Berwick last season - Dyer did! In fairness as much as I like Robin, he wont average much more than what Sanchez would, hes a very up and down rider. If someone said to me Sanchez and Dyer or Aspegren and Edberg, id go for the first option everytime . Dyers ability to score more than Edberg would more than make up for my disappointment of Sanchez for Aspegren. I dont see why your mentioning Sanchez anyhow... Dyer for edberg would of fitted!!
  15. Everytime you read a Berwick thread the blame is always being pushed elsewhere. Whats Edbergs current average out of all meetings this season? The fact that his old man purchased seven sets of kevlars probably is a big factor in his signing but if say the main reason he was signed was because when he first come over he had potential and the promotion still believe he has it hence thinking hes a bargain on a 4 average or whatever he is on However i cant help think hes around his level now and he is a very injury prone rider The fact is Dyer could of been signed instead but they went with their asset Edberg and thats proved the wrong decision, it cant be down to Dyer wanting a fortune as i cant see redcar forking out shed loads for him. Berwick chose to not re sign Dyer and chose Edberg which has to be said is a big balls up which ever way you look at it
  16. I think its time Wilko and Kus were shown the door. Cant believe this is the same Matej Kus who turned up at Newport and beat Gjedde by a straight on his first ride at the track - I thought he was the real deal. Going to the same way as Sitera, can only suggest something in his head isnt right. Replace Wilkinson and Kus with solid scorers and redcar will be a tidy team
  17. Thats exactly my point- why arent you talking about Holder? He was involved in this was he not? Hes more of a role model than Ward if anything, he has won the world title. Hes current world champion so if kids are looking at role models then he surely is the most popular?
  18. I still maintain that getting drunk and play fighting in a bar is hardly worthy of being slated for. The pissing in a doorway bit is wrong but do we know if that was Ward? Or was it Holder or Batchelor?? The main point is people like the media are picking up on everything Ward is doing - why isnt their a separate thread for Batchelor and Holder as they were involved? I dont agree with all of what they have done but in my generation since going to the pubs and clubs at the age of 16 until my current age of 24, ive seen people getting slung out of bars, messing about fighting with their mates, boys pissing in doorways and alleyways, people spewing their guts up in the middle of the road etc every single weekend in various citys... In a nutshell this latest story is not worthy of the attention its receiving. If it was Holder and Batchelor on their own we would probably know nothing about it, its the fact Ward was there too that the media are blowing everything out of proportion. But drinking is a huge part of todays generations lives, the aussies are notorious drinkers and always have been. Ward still turns up on track, passes regular alcohol tests and trys 100% on track whilst entertaining and scoring shed loads of points earning lots of money, why the hell should I or any of us care about him having a drink or ten after a meeting in a foreign country?! I appreciate the fact that some people purely dont like booze and that , each to their own, but the older members of this forum should listen to the younger ones like me, dave minall etc as were regularly out and see exactly what goes on on a night out . You have dentist chairs everywhere now in clubs where you have some ###### in a nurses outfit pouring spirits down your throat whilst your being spun round, you have ten shots of sambuca for a fiver, you have 1 pound drinks in most clubs... The alchohol culture is a huge factor in todays youth. I will admit that Darcy is silly enough to regularly be seen in the thick of the action but believe you me, ive seen many more riders behave a lot worse behind closed doors and this rider was recently praised for how much time he gives to his fans and sponsors. Do not think worse stuff goes on - it does and always will, just some are a bit more sensible than Ward and keep it away from the public domain. But getting tanked up regularly is no more or less professional if the fans know about it or not
  19. Nobody takes me seriously? You should go and have a quiet word with yourself before you make such remarks - even Wolves fans ridicule you at any opportunity!!! Someone said you wouldnt see an Olympian doing such things and i pointed out that one recently blasted his mrs to death. How is that pathetic? I agree Ward does himself no favors at all but for 16-25 year olds espiecially, this behavior is far from un common. Getting thrown out of a pub is a day to day going on in any city or town in the uk. So is urinating in the street, as vile as it is you see it all the time. The press are basically picking up on anything Ward does and its getting beyond a joke. Like i said, all you lot want to go in walkabout on gp weekend and see how the so called professionals behave because i can assure you 100 percent if you think this latest ward story is bad then youll be stunned.
  20. How is it? Someone said you wouldnt see an olympic star doing it and i stated what an olympic star has recently done!!
