Its actually in the middle of a town is it not
-
Jensen averaging 9 next season? Do me a favour!! He wont average 6.5 by October imo.
-
all he done at Newport was whinge and bitch about other team members. Nasty piece of work and a total prima donna. Plymouth well rid of him.
-
Lindback would be a good signing imo.... Hes still the best swede after AJ and a return to gb speedway could be just what he needs
-
Has the ability of a 8 pointer but sadly dont think the commitment is there - at least in the UK its not. I'd still take a risk on him though, he will maintain that average Id of thought and is superb to watch. If he put his speedway first in the UK then he would be one of the signings of the season.
-
Far better rider than the 0's and 1's he was regularly scoring last season. Has the talent of a top PL rider.
-
Ahh Paul Cooper.... another clean, fair rider! All teams have had their share of dirty riders over the years... Sean Wilson was at times dangerous and who can forget Andre Compton? Arguably the dirtiest rider ive seen at PL level. If Gathercole signed you'd all be supporting him as you would with Vissing... stop kidding yourselves.
-
If Gathercole signed for Sheffield youd soon love him... remember Ashworth at Berwick? Punched Makovsky and the fans played hell.... now hes their hero. Ive seen Birkenshaw pull some shocking moves on some of the small tracks before as well.... most riders do.

Todd Kurtz signed for Newport in 2010 on a 3.00 average, one of his grandparents was Scottish. He had every right to. In the 2011/2012 winter he took part in the Aussie champs and lost his right for his 2.5 deduction. Newport threatened to close because of this but we all know that was just a smoke screen. What would happen though if a young, 100% Brit went and raced in the Danish super league before deciding to ride here? Would his average be 3.00 or more? When was Brady 16? Maybe he raced in Denmark as a 15 year old, which they allow, and the BSPA rules dont state what a rider under the age of 16 can/cant comepete in. All confusing but theres bound to be an explination.... I dont think him racing in Aussie under 21 titles means anything as Todd Kurtz done that and still got his reduction, it was the senior title that lost him his redudction.

He loved his booze but was a big talent. His last year at Newport saw him become more consistent.... he was crap in heat 15s though, remember him going into them unbeaten then either crashing out or retiring. I was surprised when he moved on in 2003 tbh. With good bikes under him and a mentor to keep him on the right path, he'd of gone on to better things. Was much better than a 6 pt PL ave. Was sad to see him return a few seasons later and struggle to average 3.00 at reserve for Stoke and Newcastle. Massive waste of talent that happens all too often. A certain Jason Crump tipped him as a future GP star, even lent him a couple of engines in his first season.

I remember when Harrison first came over, around the same time as Doolan. Wanted a place at Newport but was never going to get near 9.00. Smith I remember at Newport in 2001 and 2002 I think... extremely entertaining, a lively charactor and a good middle order man who I think if he kept away from the booze could of gone on to be a decent EL rider. He certainly had more talent than Harrison.
-
At Newport he started well then after about six meetings just looked absolutely terrible.... trailing miles behind . No idea what went wrong, undoubtedly a talented rider though
-
Scheiln world class???
-
Wow a few good performances. Fact is hes a second string at best and has never been one of the leagues top riders - ever
-
Think he will do well to hit his starting average tbh
-
When was Katajisto one of the top PL riders? I remember him averaging about 7 from reserve, thats about it!
-
Shocking side Lemons a terrible signing
-
Awful side. Whoever snaps up Mellgren will get a cracking signing. Ryes team has one heatleader from where I am standing.
-
What makes Lindgren any more deserving of a wild card? Didnt do qualifiers and failed to make top 8. Hes a very average rider when you take away the GB league, MJJ a fresh up coming talent, has won gps before, won world under 21 titles, been part of world cup winning teams, he should of been given a wild card instead of yet another for Lindgren.
-
Just like the IOW found chris holder! Ha.
-
Point is harris should never of been in the gp challenge final after being knocked out ages before it took place.
-
I read little into racing on tracks they know at gp level.... How many times do you hear that their riding on tracks they know well yet never perform?? Mjj would be a fine addition to the series hes proven he can win gps , put in top performances in the swc and is higher than lindgren in sweden and poland
-
Lindgren is a pathetic choice. Only once in his gp career has he made the final eight. Another wild card, seriously? Shocking. As dull as dishwater and was way down the pecking order in the Poland and Sweden averages with exciting young talent like Dudek and MJJ above him. Hes decent enough in the UK but apart from that is medicore at best on the continent. Jonsson I can kind of understand, he missed a few rounds few injury. It was only two years ago he was world number 2. A very exciting rider and is still world class in the leagues. Last chance saloon for him I would say, I can accept his wild card. Gollob deserves his, as much as he was not interested at times hes been one of the top riders in the world for well over a decade and is exciting as well. If he doesnt make the top 8 this season then I would say goodbye though. Holder is an obvious choice. Disgusted that Lindgren got another selection. Should of gone to MJJ. He is higher in the top two leagues in world speedway, IMO is more exciting, is younger, more potential and has impressed in his wild card showings, even winning one. So what if it was his home GP, despite being WC three times Nicki P still hasnt one a Danish GP in his career. Home GPS mean sod all.
