You could not make it up! Why was this new squad system not announced straight after the AGM?! And people wonder why this sport is an absolute joke! The only way we find out about this new squad is through one team announcing 10 riders. Why not agree to it at AGM, release it in the statement and then every team can have a go at it. I find it pathetic how its only for certain members of the top 5! If it was for any position, theres every chance youd have, as an example, Nicki and NKI job sharing at KL. The sport is a complete joke and its just getting worse each close season. God knows what next season will be like!

I cant believe Nicholls average is so low - every time I seen the scores in 2015 he was always banging them in! How is he only 6ish?! Still unsure whether he is good enough for the team though. Woofy and Bomber certaintys, youd imagine Cook and Lambert would be the other two surely?
-
Why does Havelock get it so wrong? That side looks woeful. Surely everything in his power should of been done to get Andersen in at reserve.
-
So what happens when PUK leaves? Without him this team looks incredibly weak to be honest. Im sure Wilko will score plenty around Lynn from reserve but away will be a different story. I aint sure I see much if any improvement in Rose either I'm in honest. Mads will be Mads, whilst entertaining all season will score well for 4-6 weeks then drop off. Whether its to do with machinery or fitness Im not sure. Question marks on Scheiln for sure, very nasty injury to return from at the stage of his career he is at. Could be a lot of pressure on Lambert to perform. And then theres Batchelor. Wouldnt want him any where near my team. How people think he could be a steal on his average I don't know! The new German is being thrown in at the deep end for sure, would of been far better off going down the PL route with a club like Edinburgh first. Hopefully, Niels starts well and the Stars can persuade him to stay. If not, I cant see how they'll be anywhere near as strong when he leaves.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Pinny replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sadly both Berwick and Scunny look poor outfits to me - cant understand some peoples hype on Berwick! Newcastle and Peterborough look the two stand outs to me. -
Funny he makes comments about faggots ... Youd think he would stay quiet on that front seeing as his tongues up another mans ( ford) arse most of the time 😂😂

I get the feeling Iversen is feeling a little guilty about leaving it so late to make a decision now, hence his comments about willing to come and help KL if required. Still, a club like Lynn should of been able to attract a big name in his place. Iversen wouldnt of came cheap, he was probably the most expensive rider in the league last season so using the available funds from him towards another capable number one would of been an option surely, considering how crap the rest of the line up is? Cant tell me someone like Lindback, vaculik, hampel, larsen, piotr pawlicki etc would cost more than iversen. None would match his scoring power but settling for ben barker, a probable 5.5 rider if he does well, is a pathetic attitude. That side will be rock bottom near enough and the promotion only have themselves to blame. Lamberts improving but will probably end up number 1, will he cope with that? Korneliussen is one of my favorites but is a journeyman, albeit 100 percent racer and tryer, but often goes missing. Add to that scheiln returning from a broken back , and it doesnt bode well. Espiecially when you look at the reserves.

No its not gospel but apart from the odd time Pedersen has been better than gollob throughout that peroid and only a numpty like yourself will argue otherwise. Like him or loathe him Pedersen has been a class act. Gollobs pathetic attitude to not trying if there aint a line around the fence doesnt help his cause and taking so long to master big circuits. Pedersen and crump, imo, were a level above gollob during that era. Excitement doesnt come into it - id prefer to watch charlie gjedde or frankie smart over hancock any day of the week - doesnt make them better riders
-
Not this debate again Pedersen has always been a class above gollob, and the stats back it up.
-
Cant agree with the last two. 2006-2010 would be Pedersen for me. One the title twice in that time and had a third (?) as well. And was also top notch in the leagues. I think it was 07 where he produced probably the most dominant world title year ive seen. Crump was class though, id say its a hard one. Be interesting to see their polish/uk/ swedish stats for that period Also tai surely from 2013 to now?
-
My point is just cos he has found himself riding in the number one berth, doesnt make him a number one standard rider, just like this season at wolves
-
Yeah and what was his average that year compared to other number ones and how did eastie do that season? Newport had nick simmons as a number one at one stage, doesnt mean hes ever been number one quality!
-
I always preferred PL racing but that was purely down to the fact that i watched it week in, week out. The el should be leading by example though, its broadcast every week on sky and is the top league in the country. Its the main specticle of british speedway and at the moment its an absolute mess. The lower leagues are hardly thriving either, crowds in pl are way off break even on the whole. Sadly since poland have been paying big bucks riders no longer class the uk as a priority, poles never have but you go back to 15 years or so ago, all decent foreigners would come and ride in the pl, think it was only holta who never came. Now they dont want to know
-
The only time he has been remotely close to being a number 1 was in his early days at Arena where tbf he was pretty good, at home at least. Since he has been nowhere near, id say barring two maybe three seasons at a push hes been on borderline third heat leader standard at best.
-
Ben barker isnt a pl number one nowadays let alone an el number 1!!!

The Curious Case Of The Invisible Chairman.
Pinny replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The whole sport in the country is a mess. The crowds have been dropping off alarmingly since they started pissing about with the points limit and then of course that pathetic grading system idea that they brought in. Every EL club back in 02/03 was getting 1000 as a bare minimum, now probably only poole clear that easily on a weekly basis. Its time a fixed race night was given and a decent points limit. Get the top boys back. Im sorry but i cant ever see the crowds flocking back unless the gp stars do. Give the fans the olden heat 13/15s. Iversen and Pedersen vs Woffinden and Pawlicki. Jonsson and Hancock vs Janowski and Holder. Etc ... Instead of bloody Walasek and Wozniak Vs batchelor and lambert. It may be easier said than done, and my opinion being of zero financial danger to myself, but something has to be done. I remember the days when any hot prospect in europe would appear over here to start their careers. Cegielski, andersen, nicki p, bjarne p, mli, zagar, lindback etc. now they dont wanna know and you have crap like Woryna at coventry filling team places. Drastic, massive improvements need to be made for 2017 otherwise apart from poole, there will be crowds of 2-300 a week for the other clubs. -
Tai? 😂

Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
Pinny replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Whoooooooosh Almost as slow as Not So Fast Freddie -
Lindgren a class act in the el yet has a lower average than batchelor who is slated on a regular basis! Lindgrens on a huge downward spiral and his el average, exit from the gps and other league figures show this. He was absolutely awful last season.
-
Crump lol Hed struggle to average 6 these days
-
Lambert out and replace him with a rider taking them up to the limit. They would be dark horses for title then imo
-
Facts are Mitchell Davey debuted in the pl in 2008, still has a sub 3 average, must be in his late 20's and is Australian. And hes odds on to become edinburghs fast track number 7, designed to help young brits progress in the sport. You couldnt make it up!!! Even if he does take out a uk passport, it is still ridiculous. Youll have Glenn cunningham being re assessed and used as somersets number 8 next
-
Cant be that bad if youve visited it many many times can it?
-
Have you been to new zealand ?!
-
Not what i heard from people who were at the track day in day out throughout the 07/08 off season. But the only person who will know for sure is sadly no longer with us. Either way, the club had a superb fan base in the late 90s/early 00's and the potential to be the biggest club in uk speedway.
