  1. Thorsell acheived his average riding as a second string and lines up next season as a heatleader, cant see what the arguing is about although bill and ben are involved so should not really be surprised
  2. There is a hell of a difference riding as your teams number one, expected to go all out winning races and leading from the front, to being a teams second heatleader. Far less pressure to produce wins. Also , he rides with a reserve in his first three programmed rides where as number ones are paired with a second string in their first three . More chance of a second string coming in ahead of a number one than a reserve coming in ahead of their number 5 partner. As said , we will have to see this season how they go. Fully fit over a full season, with the rate hes improving, I would fancy Kurtz to end the season with a higher average than Morris.
  3. Well he topped the league averages so though dominant may not quite be right, Morris was still the best part of a point below him and Doyle took the pressure off him. Now he is the teams star number one, theres question marks over whether he can go out and win the big heat 13 and 15’s. hopefully he does, always been a fan of him.
  4. You have to wonder what on earth Lynn will do if Iversen doesnt end up riding for them next season...
  5. I quite like Morris, but in all honesty he was second behind a dominant Doyle in the averages last season whilst Kurtz was at number one most of the season. It remains to be seen if Morris can maintain his starting average whilst riding at number one next season...
  6. Andersen still a very good rider but throws in too many duff rides these days. Always liked him, crazy to think he never won a medal in the GPs. I think it was 05/06 that he was, Imo, the best rider in world speedway. But definately his average is only going one way and I think its a good move from Ford to release him now.
  7. Dont even have to go there, their behavior on this forum is enough for me.
  8. Jesus christ this thread is something else. Sundstrom was a near 8 pointer when riding in this league a few years ago, hes got better as a rider and the league has been watered down hugely. i am no fan of Poole and to be honest most of their fans annoy the hell out of me but if they round this team off with Sundstrom and Shanes, it really does look head and shoulders above any of the rest. Kurtz is a young improving star of the future, Holder at worst will hold his average, Josh G averaged 7 riding at number one last season and starts as a third heatleader, Sundstrom is a quality rider who can ride all tracks big or small, Woryna is a hot prospect who will surely make a mockery of his average, the other Pole is the stand out reserve in the league and Shanes is improving and has a year under his belt plus has secured more meetings for 2018. sorry but if any other team announced this line up nearly every fan on here would be saying how good it looks. given the rules and averages etc, it is the stand out side. Thats assuming Shanes and Sundstrom sign but it looks so good that even if they dont, they will still take some stopping.
  9. If someone i.e Joe Bloggs was willing to open a brand new stadium for top flight speedway in Coventry, something Horton isnt capable of doing, surely Horton would have no problem in passing the name over ? as apart from the name and a couple of assets, what does owning Coventry Speedway mean? It was bad news as soon as he became involved in Coventry, all the fans on here bar one or two called it.
  10. Looking at that video there is no way back now for speedway at that stadium. Its been left to decay and fall apart and the bulldozers will be in any day now. Coventry have a huge fan base so if someone could come up with a new plot of land for a stadium, it should be a success. As long as Watson and Horton are not involved, that is as anything they touch becomes a mess.
  11. Is that article some sort of p155 take??? why would you want an over rated, jumped up tw@t of a primadonna in your team? He has basically said he doesnt want to ride for Kings Lynn but has no choice. Sorry but i cannot understand how people stick up for this guy.
  12. Opinions are opinions but again cant see how Josh G isnt getting any better , had his best season last season as , apart from Cook was the best rider in the championshup and stepped up and averaged over 7 as a number one in the Premieeship. Had his best season in the UK by some distance
  13. Josh G was one place below Musielek in the final averages last season having rode at number one all season in a struggling team compared to Musielak riding half the season as a second string for the title winners so fail to see how thats a no contest. Also Woryna over Ellis , you have to be joking surely. As I have already said, IF Shanes and someone like Sundstrom is the final signing this side will take some stopping IMO. Can you imagine Holder gets back to somewhere near his best, Sundstrom signs (he will average 8 in this league no question), Kurtz carries on improving, Woryna brings even half of his Polish form to Poole and the other Pole even just holds his average... lots of ifs but they look more than likely to happen. This Poole side is head and shoulders above the rest and anyone who thinks otherwise is either anti Poole, thick or both.
  14. Has there been official confirmation of why Vaculik is 8.00 yet other GP riders with previous averages have been reassessed to 9.00?
  15. He had beeen at Poole for about five years, picked up good sponsorship and had barely improved whilst underperforming last year. He had been given plenty of time by Poole, imo. the touted BV team really looks as if its been built to win all home meetings and pick up the odd point away so cannot understand why they havent gone with jacobs who, whilst being poor away, banged in huge scores at home.
  16. Youd think THJ would be a shoe in at reserve on his average...
  17. He seems to of averaged 5.7 on the bspa site and is starting as a reserve for Workington so I would say 6 is easily acheiveable. he is a lot better than quite a few Aussies who have came over in the last 5-8 years in all fairness.
  18. Cant see why he wont have a higher average than Cook to be honest. Hes improving at a much faster pace, has a taste of being number one in the top flight and has a lot more potential.
  19. That is what I mean. Kurtz already has a taste of being the top rider in Pooles team and time at number one. Thorssell whilst potentially very good spent last season at number 4 all season with no pressure as Lindgren was number one, Cook was second heatleader for BV, Morris likewise for Swindon. Id fancy Kurtz to average more than Thorssel and Morris, definately more than Harris/Nicholls and wouldnt surprise me if he is higher than Cook and Vaculik too.
  20. Just a joke when people see a few Aussie results and try making it out as if thats how they will ride all season in the UK. Sedgmen is another who is superb in Aus then quite frankly pants in the UK. Brady Kurtz when announced as Pooles number one looked weak as people assumed the big guns would be flocking back to UK speedway, but they havent and now its becoming clearer that this top flight will be one of the weakest ever, BK is starting to look like one of the stronger number ones.
  21. Also does Holder sing the UK national anthem and have a union jack tatooed on his back?
  22. All you need is the team to hold their figures and for the expected 2-3 point improvement from Woryna and they look clear favourites to me. Thats assuming holder, andersen and shanes complete the team.
  23. Isnt Holder based in the UK most of the year now???
  24. What an absolute farce. Poland running away with it most years and looking like doing so for years on end so they change the format to even it up, what a joke. Instead of penalising Poland , other countries should pull their finger out and make up ground on them. Denmark havent been the same since Nielsen has been in charge, he has made some crazy decisions regarding team selections and should be bombed out and replaced. Being a legendary world champ doesnt mean your a good manager. A team of NKI, Pedersen, Kildemand and MJJ/Madsen/Bjerre should still be capable of mixing it with Poland. Riders have hardly heaped praise on Nielsen so he must be doing something wrong.
