  1. The year we had Watson, Smart and Iversen we also had Atkin who averaged about 7 and Wilkinson who had his first season in the 1-5 and added to his average by over a point. quite remarkable that side finished 10th out of 18, just shows how good the PL was back in them days. Gjedde was a class act for Swindon, in 2001 the year we had Cunningham and Masters at Newport and were bottom me and my dad used to go to Swindon most thursdays, seen Gjedde ride there for Reading easy 18 point max, Bjarne Pedersen and Fryer had a cracking race that season, great days. Gjedde around the Abbey was sensational, only spent 2/3 of a season at Newport in 2011 but averaged 10.50 overall and was brilliant, most dominant Wasp I had seen even more dominant than a prime Watson I would say. Iversen I thought may of jumped a year too early, I remember he agreed a deal with Tim Stone to return to Newport the next season and was set to double up and then I think they scrapped the double up/down rule meaning Waggy signed him full time for Oxford. That screwed Newports team plans right up I remember Tim Stone telling my old man the side he had planned and it would of taken some stopping. Anyway back on topic, I suppose Zagar has had his fair share of chances and has never been top 3 so if he doesnt make top 8 this season it would be difficult to justify giving him a wild card .
  2. Totally agree, he was superb in about 2003 , the same season Iversen landed at Newport. Both came in on 9.00 and both increased that figure which was rare in those days with the standard of rider they came up against. I remember a certain Nick Dyer from Reading stating Jonas Davidsson would be better than both, where is he these days?! (And Davidsson for that matter!). heard whispers that Zagar lacks the professionalism and doesnt take the sport as seriously as he should, same as Jonsson. Both extremely talented, exciting riders who were more than capable of winning a world title - Jonsson more so imo.
  3. They all think theyll be idolised for Pedersen bashing throughout the sport , thats why they do it. They know he has a reputation and is unpopular so they think that going for him after any tiny little incident makes them heroes in the eyes of anti Pedersen people. pathetic in all honesty... the minute Pedersen has enough and lumps one of these hangers on unconscious cannot come soon enough. He should of been allowed to lay Hancock out after Hancocks pathetic lunge at him a few years ago, instead of being dragged away. These clowns would soon think twice. Pedersen has always been a hard rider and yes has pulled some shocking moves but not for a long time. There are worse out there than him for sure.
  4. Pathetic from lakeside who should of known of the 8 day rule before hand. Best wishes to dan b as well.
  5. And wasnt Wards injury at that time non speedway related?
  6. Just annoyed I didnt remember to have a flutter on Vaculik!!!
  7. As usual riders jumping on the Pedersen bandwagon, any other rider and nothing else would of been said.
  8. Really?? I think Fricke, given time, will go all the way. Both though are better prospects than Kurtz who now appears to be going backwards
  9. Holder out next season. If he gets another wild card it shows how corrupt the organisers are imo.
  10. Bickley was banging big scores everywhere in the NL last season and imo has came up a year too soon. its all well and good saying hes never seen the track before yet other youngsters who come over from abroad have no issues scoring big points from positions in the 1-5 in their first meetings on a track.
  11. A lot of young Brits being over hyped lately IMO, Bickley a prime example cleaning up in the NL but cant buy a point in the Championship.
  12. His only impressive showing so far though seemed to of struggled in his other meetings ?
  13. Think your the one who stalks him Flange boy. As everyone else says. now you run along telling all your friends Josh Auty is more talented than Leon Madsen, theres a good boy.
  14. No wonder the majority think your a piece of work. Shame as most of the Belle Vue fans seem decent. anyone who gets a thrill out of cyber bullying Steve Brum really does need their head looking at.
  15. Grow up you tool. your trying to compare a Scunthorpe second heatleader with a rider whos topped the Polish averages and saying he is more talented. As many have said before, your an absolute pleb. You get kicks out of trying to pick on stevebrum. Sums you up. trying to say Auty is more talented than the best domestic rider on the continent over the last couple of years sums you up.
  16. Can only use the argument of naturally talented if the two riders you are comparing arent gulfs apart like Auty and Madsen are. one is a decent enough second tier heatleader, the other is a top number one in the Polish and Swedish top flights. no comparison im afraid, Madsen is above Auty in all aspects .
  17. have I really just read someone say Josh Auty has way more talent than Leon Madsen? This world has gone bonkers. Talented in what area?
  18. Do people seriously believe Woofy, going for the world title, was ever going to line up for Sheffield in the second tier of British speedway? If the rules allowed it, fixtures didnt clash and Sheffield wanted him, he still wouldnt of.
  19. Speedy bill does really need to make it a bit less obvious he is Josh Auty. Embarrassing really.
  20. Wish youd stop banging on about the IOW - their crowds are still low which hits the nail on the head that the sport is on its arse . A whole lot more needs doing than what the IOW are doing .
  21. No, the watering down of the league has coincided with the lack of interest.
  22. Imagine how doomed the Premiership would be if there were no play offs.
