Greg Hancock - happy retirement
Pinny replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Phil making an arse of himself again. Never liked him , heard stories from someone linked to PUK about his time at Oxford with Hancock and they didn’t make good hearing , pretty dull to watch as well but can’t take his four titles away from him. An all time great on track without a doubt. why on earth Danny Ayres funeral has been brought into this thread only a buffoon like Phil the Ace would know. -
No doubt he was rapidly improving but had a nasty knock and hasn’t been same since sometimes riders take an injury free season to get back into it, theres every chance he could average 9 plus next season.
-
He raced for Newport in about 2000 , came in on an average of over 11 that he was never going to match but think he got about 8. he was woeful at times though and looked like he couldnt careless , on a lot of away tracks. he was superb around Newport though and was there the day he broke the track record , he looked like he was going to break it after 2 bends you could just tell. horrible injuries ruined him, his nasty one at Arena when ploughing into a fallen rider and hitting the fence probably what finished him.
-
Ben Howe was superb to watch on his day. one of the best racing styles I have seen.
-
Can get a flight from Aus to Uk one way for as little as 400 quid.
-
How many have been at the top of the sport? World number 3 , dominated the Polish and UK leagues for a couple of seasons and id say is pretty exciting to watch and has been right back from his Newport days.
-
Must of taken some doing to surpass Andre Compton. Theres too many incidents of his resulting in serious injuries to name.
-
And people call Shovlar a disgrace to Poole Speedway. Starman is without doubt the biggest berk on this forum .
-
And we all knows what happens when him and his sidekick are involved in promotion!
-
I am sorry, but that is complete and utter bias and theres no other phrase for it.

What is the highest figure Kildemand has been at in the UK? Batchelor, as a second heatleader, is superb and even a prime Kildemand would struggle to match that figure. Let alone a rider who has completely lost his way, he hardly pulled any trees up for Poole in 2018 either did he? His form abroad has been awful for a couple of seasons now. He may go on to be a hit this season but it is extremely likely he will get absolutely nowhere near Batchelor .
-
Will have to disagree. The argument was top 3 vs top 3.... Swindons is a lot stronger. Doyle well clear of Kurtz , Batchelor again way clear of a fading Kildemand and Jensen over a point higher than Wright. I cant see how there can be any comparison really.
-
Swindons top 3 is head and shoulders above Belle Vues, cant even see how thats up for debate.
-
The reality of what happened is Wolves made it and Belle Vue didnt, its as simple as that. Wolves probably lost silly points they should of got over the season as did BV. Its speedway.
-
Andersen if in a good team as a third heatleader with two riders above him would average 7.5 I reckon. Put him at 1 or 5 and he would average around 6-6.5.

Birmingham Brummies 2020
Pinny replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In all fair ness, I think Wright must be one of the strangest cases I have seen in speedway for being one minute superb to absolute mince within a season. It is quite puzzling to think what went wrong so quick. -

Wright rode for Birmingham in the past so actually smart arse, he does have something to do with Birmingham. Have you recently been installed as a mod on here ? -

Silver and Wright cannot really be compared can they - Silver pretty much left at the top of his game there or there abouts whilst Wright had a couple of good years then slowly fading and becoming a rider nobody would want in their side. -
Reading blocked from Entering NDL
Pinny replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in National League Speedway
Its crazy to think even the teams that have gone in the last 20 years Newport, Reading, Exeter, Oxford, Trelawny, Hull, Workington, Arena, Rye , Coventry , Stoke, Buxton just off the top of my head. Probably more. Used to love the bank holiday meetings vs the likes of Reading and remembering the crowds at Smallmead and Exeter when the Wasps were in town when they first came back was like nothing seen since IMO... used to flood the places yellow . Good times and times that will never come back around again sadly. The sport in the UK is dying on its arse. -

So he is still about then? Was a classic forum member back in the day, had many debates with him as a youngster but definitely a good guy. -

Would be good to see Reading back . Whatever happened to Nick Dyer? Is he still involved in the sport or just completely vanished since Reading closed? -
I was actually referring to his height although I would not be surprised to see Ipswich chasing him.

The extreme heat conditions here would of had something to do with it, obviously an Aussie summer is always hot but this recent heatwave has been something else. to put it into perspective, in Victoria the Union us construction workers work under has a rule of as soon as it hits 35 degrees, you down tools and go home. We normally get 2-3 per summer, summer has only just started and we have had 6 already. And theres two months of summer left.
