Birmingham Brummies 2020
Pinny replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In all fair ness, I think Wright must be one of the strangest cases I have seen in speedway for being one minute superb to absolute mince within a season. It is quite puzzling to think what went wrong so quick. -

Wright rode for Birmingham in the past so actually smart arse, he does have something to do with Birmingham. Have you recently been installed as a mod on here ? -

Silver and Wright cannot really be compared can they - Silver pretty much left at the top of his game there or there abouts whilst Wright had a couple of good years then slowly fading and becoming a rider nobody would want in their side. -

Its crazy to think even the teams that have gone in the last 20 years Newport, Reading, Exeter, Oxford, Trelawny, Hull, Workington, Arena, Rye , Coventry , Stoke, Buxton just off the top of my head. Probably more. Used to love the bank holiday meetings vs the likes of Reading and remembering the crowds at Smallmead and Exeter when the Wasps were in town when they first came back was like nothing seen since IMO... used to flood the places yellow . Good times and times that will never come back around again sadly. The sport in the UK is dying on its arse. -

So he is still about then? Was a classic forum member back in the day, had many debates with him as a youngster but definitely a good guy. -

Would be good to see Reading back . Whatever happened to Nick Dyer? Is he still involved in the sport or just completely vanished since Reading closed? -
I was actually referring to his height although I would not be surprised to see Ipswich chasing him.

Zagar?

The extreme heat conditions here would of had something to do with it, obviously an Aussie summer is always hot but this recent heatwave has been something else. to put it into perspective, in Victoria the Union us construction workers work under has a rule of as soon as it hits 35 degrees, you down tools and go home. We normally get 2-3 per summer, summer has only just started and we have had 6 already. And theres two months of summer left.

Gavan done it and got nothing but flack from the Poole fans, now your doing the same. Im far from Gavans biggest fan, but what your doing is no better.
-
Your hanging round this thread like a bad smell like Gavan used to on Pooles.
-
Behave yourself. Anyone would think youve helped fill out Berwicks stadium week in week out Main part of advertising is having the product your advertising bang on and value for money. If not, you could advertise speedway as a 5 quid sport and people still wont come back.
-
Take no notice of Dick (head) Barrie and his suggestions of Keleher being a better prospect than Kennedy. He isnt.
-
So someone in a dying sport gets an award and you have a sap like Richard Weston making stupid comments . This is everything that is wrong with speedway and more importantly, its fans. Well done Dave!

He averaged nearly 3 points more at Lakeside, well known as a notorious track for home advantage, than away. Your constant bigging up of him and having digs at other riders because they were signed instead of your grandson is childish. He has had numerous chances , and isnt good enough. Hence no championship place. As stated, hes a Herne/Evans type rider.
-
Hes also a very average second reserve in the CL. Fact.
-
Agree entirely. Been around for ten plus years and still cant average 4 in the CL. Another Barrie Evans / Lee Herne / Martin Williams type rider.
-
Agreed. Also teams can build a side with the same grades as another team and have a side worth up to 2/3.00 higher averages!
-
I disagree with sides bringing others down because they cant afford top riders. people can say what they like but crowds have been dropping ever since the product has been severely weakened. Remember 2004 when they brought the grading system in? How did that go? If a top tier club can afford two number ones then let them, they shouldnt have to split their top end up because other teams cant sign a number one.
-
Why isnt it fair??? if a team cant afford to attract a number one based on their crowd levels they shouldnt be in the top division. Simple as that. tried grading before and it didnt work, it definitely wont work now.

Anyone would think Redcar have been flooded with trophys the last 15 years!!!!!
-
Id take Gilmore over Keleher at this moment in time.
-
Gilmore is under Craig Watsons wing... more than ready for the Championship.
-
Probably wise to laugh at Gavan anyway , despite his team being in the top flight the side their assembling doesnt look up to much anyway. Bjerre would be a good signing if he is in the mood, but seemed to be pretty bad last season.
