He is well past his best and clearly peaked way too soon. he would cost a lot more money than any of them named and in all honestly those riders have been loyal to UK speedway since they arrived. Bech has had a few spells and quit.

Sign riders like Bech? Riders who were never world class to begin with and are now on a downward spiral and wish to use the UK to top up the banks as the big boys don’t want them anymore ?

Youngsters now either want to sit behind a games console all evening whilst messaging their friends on their smart phones , or go out and drink a shed load of booze. Speedway is not a cool sport anymore and probably never will be. You only have to see the crowd zoom ins whenever there is a live match. The average speedway fan in the UK must be about 50 at least surely.

Despite the leagues being closer than ever in standard and the top flight being about as weak as a can of Fosters , it’s a shame to see Poole drop a league. they must of lost some money if the rumoured 50k per club in the top flight for 2020 isn’t enough to keep them there. they have to do something about the standard of riders , it’s getting weaker and weaker every year and it’s no coincidence that the crowds are dropping at a fast rate every year.

Woffy certainly isn’t top 8 material this season despite missing a few rounds but is certainly top 15. has to get a wild card.

Say what you like about Scott Smith but he featured in your league winning sides of 1999 and 2002. granted the bonus point was a big factor then, but hammering everyone and anyone at home back in the day and getting the odd away win back in the day would win you the league.

Looks like a superb play offs in store ... Wolves and Swindon bang in form and never write off Poole either who could still top the league . Time for Nicholls to call it a day in the top flight and have a farewell season at lower level. As great a servant he has been over the years.
