Wasn't it that Alan Trump geezer who spent it on his other projects?

Correct. losing home and away every week at rock bottom of the table is not being competitive. i should know, i was a Newport fan and apart from one memorable season in 1999 and a decent last season in 2011, i seen us win about 8 wooden spoons and lose at home most weeks. The crowd levels hit rock bottom and i cannot count the amount of times the racing was great and it was a last heat decider. as I said before, home wins are absolutely essential to maintain a decent fan base and Exeter are proof of that. The experience of the venue and track was superb in being so close to the action and it being a big, fast daunting track but the racing was absolutely dire but they won at home every week and kept a great fanbase because of that.

They are rock bottom and have won one match all season. If you call that competitive then good luck to you.

Riders missing for pathetic reasons and going unpunished is a much bigger issue that needs fixing. Teams being allowed to sign riders knowing full well they will only ride in about 50-60 percent of fixtures (Klindt) is another and there are dozens of other rules and regs that need sorting. The guest facility has been around the whole near 30 years I have followed speedway, it sometimes works for teams other times not its the way it goes. Same as R/R. I kind of see your point, I am one of those that think in football that if a player has gone off genuinely injured they should be allowed to bring a sub on to replace him when they have already used all 5 of the allocated subs but that wont ever happen.

It is a huge shame they were not confirmed in the league sooner and had zero chance of building a competitive team. Constantly reading good reports about the place and would be gutting to see it ruined by a season full of defeats. Hope they turn the results around, Big H is a top bloke.

Don't agree with that. Open to all sorts of manipulation. Rider replacement is swings and roundabouts. I have seen a team use it for a missing 5 point second string and the replacement rides getting a paid maximum. Also seen teams use it for a heatleader and get less. Rider replacement has been one of the more sensible rules and facilities in the sport for the last god knows how many years, last thing this sport needs is tinkering about with rules that don't need changing.

Are you sure? i can't believe he come out with that, makes OFAH Trigger look intelligent.

How much do the volunteers get paid Lewy?
-
Isn't a volunteer someone who works for free and doesn't get paid? Come on I thought you were meant to be intelligent!!!

Since when do volunteers get paid?

If it meant getting rid of most of the fans (you're an exception) off here then I am sure it would be well worth it. Steve Lyric is an absolute wanchor and along with the other dodgy geezer who these days acts like Bournemouths biggest fan with zero knowledge of football, is the reason most fans despise Poole.

The blokes an absolute bellend. Be quality when Poole finally get booted out of Wimbore Road.

As a positive, its great to see the likes of Zagar, Harris and Iversen still scoring points. I remember seeing them riding for Trelawny and Newport at Trelawny in 2003 , crazy to think 23 years on they would still be putting in respectable scores in the British top division.

Social media is where its at now for advertising online. I can't remember the last time I bothered to go to a clubs website. I watch every ManU game on TV and haven't been on the website since before I left the UK. Same as with speedway, you see all results on social media. Club websites have been rubbish on the whole since the internet has been around but having a quick glance now, its a wonder they even bother with them. Not just info wise but the design and lay out is just horrendous. Just don't bother.

The gaps between fixtures across both leagues is an absolute disgrace during summer months. -

You should know racers and royals is the only man on this topic who can comment on Polish league and anyone with a different opinion gets shot down in flames. Guy is a tosser and seems to love going on about management and promotion, I wonder how the Reading fans back in 99/2000 felt when they won back to back wooden spoons with plenty of dismal home and away performances under racer and royals management and it could of been argued they were dragging the league down at the time .

Why on earth is Bowes still a Poole rider? Signs Middleditch has lost his mind now knocking on? Back in the day he would of been booted out a long time ago. Seems Cook can't be bothered this season and Lawson hasn't been his dominant self, infact he hasnt since the whispers of fuel tank testing started circulating. Getting hammered by that many by Berwick is embarrassing .

Success is what brings in crowd levels. Has always been the case. Exeter were a prime example of that in the premier days, regular got well over 1000 a week due to winning at home 99 percent of the time even though they were awful away from home most of the time. And the racing there was absolutely rubbish, gate and go. Having a big council funded stadium with a nice, good race track doesn't guarantee a good crowd as Belle Vue have found out.

Best rider/s for coming from the back.

AJ Gollob Loram Cegielski Ward At the old premier league level, from watching him every week for three or four years there was none better than Frank Smart. Every week around Newport he would pass heat leaders for fun. His pass of Kelvin Tatum was something else and also his memorable win from 15 ms back at Swindon against Steve Masters will long live in the memory. Fry around Swindon was great to watch from the back. Harris around Trelawny as well. -
Lemon could pass though and have seen him numerous times making decent passes on decent riders. Werner wouldn't pass a 3.00 reserve if he missed the gate. Wato in his last year or two was the ultimate gating tart but after the amount of season ending injurys he went through who could blame him, before that he could pass the best of them anywhere.
-
Brent Werner stands out for me at Premier Level. Made the gate and was superb, miss it and you could forget it. Klindt is another one.

Derwent Park was a much better track than Berwick, went to the pairs 2 or 3 times there and was always good racing. -
Just shows how far the standard of the younger generation has dropped. i went to the 2003 u21 final at Sheffield which Stead won, Harris was a 9 point number 1 for Trelawny and didnt even make the final. Lee Richardson in 99 won the world under 21 final in a stellar line up. You now have second tier reserves on the podium. what on earth has happened to junior speedway in the uk?
