Birmingham v Poole Championship. 19/7/23
Pinny replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Even in the late nineties I remember coming to Swindon with at least 500 newport fans and the crowd was huge and plenty of Swindon fans, unlike Reading the same year where the Newport fans would double the crowd. mad that all three clubs are gone. -
Oxford vs Glasgow - Champ - 19/7

Have to fancy a Oxford Poole final surely? -
Im no certain on this but i remember Danny Bird having a pretty good job outside of speedway?

Boxall was a superb talent and a shame he never took things seriously and went on to bigger things. Always enjoyed watching him at Newport and various away meetings. Although to be fair, I can't ever see him riding full time for a Premier or Championship side again. Would be good to see it happen though.

Correct. Im not the one conning the paying public though, am I?

Another buffoon at Lynn trying to take the p**s out of the paying public. Barring a guest and a second in heat 2, their riders didn't beat one opponent between them. Instead of coming out with such garbage, tell it how it is. Tell the fans that the performance was absolutely pathetic and there are no excuses.

What an absolute disgrace Kings Lynn and Buster Chapman are. Laguta listed as injured on the weekend and a guest swiftly sorted out then he goes and rides on Sunday in Poland? Pathetic. The sport is in a dire mess and Chapman being allowed to behave how he is, fielding under strength teams week in week out at both of his clubs, is disgusting. The quicker he f***s off out the sport, the better. I think it is time that the sport had a major shake up and reformatting. Its in a dire , dire state with complete w**kers in power. Phil Morris never took any nonsense in his riding days so hopefully he has a similar attitude towards British Speedway.

I remember he left Newport with a 9 average and got about 7.5 for Reading the year after did he not? Although I remember he always rode well there for Newport. Is there anywhere online that sells old videos of Reading meetings ? Got quite a few old Newport ones on my computer but would be good to get some old videos of the Wasps at Reading.

As someone has correctly pointed out, the team is struggling due to the top 4 struggling as a whole. Howarth has been shocking, Barker and Worrall up and down and Starke awful until his sacking. Top heavy sides need their top riders performing nigh on every meeting and if they don't, well the results are what they have produced so far. If the comments made on here about the team spirit being poor etc are true then it is absolutely down to the manager to do something about it. May has without doubt got a good track record as a team manager from his Somerset days. It is fair to say, most would of expected Howarth, Worrall and Barker to be doing a bit more this season than they have done.

Buster doesnt tell fibs tho does he?

Sheffield v Ipswich 15th June (A fixture)
Pinny replied to 4BenMoran's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No, I know nothing of speedway your absolutely correct. I suppose you being the father of a bang average rider means your the font of knowledge on all things speedway? If a rider is injured, he shouldn't be riding. Why should fans part with their hard earned cash to see a half fit rider? As well as that, hes surely a risk to other riders on track if not fit? -

More than likely just another excuse for his poor form. -

Bellego been terrible but Ellis also has been rubbish most of the season - Sheff should look at replacing both of them if they want to go for the title. -
I reckon Lynn will drop a league and pboro will be gone next season
-
What an absolute mess! Brady has clearly bitten off more than he can chew and bailed out. Anyone who thinks otherwise must be mental. Both Lynn and Peterborough in an absolute mess. Has British Speedway ever been in such a mess? Certainly not in my life time.

This side could be nearly as bad as that shocking Mildenhall side . Awful

Czech GP round 3 Saturday June 3rd

It is really good to see two young Brits up there near the top . I would never have imagined it ten years or so ago when it was just Tai W. Genuinely think Bewley, Lambert, Woffy and whoever else they pick have a good chance in the SWC. Who will be the 4th rider though? Is it back to 4 riders plus a reserve/u21? -

Nicholls absolutely superb this season - has he invested heavily in equipment for his final season? Brilliant to see him going so well - one of Britains finest. -
Madness how people are mentioning Zagar, he is going down the same route as Iversen these days. The whole team looks like three changes needed minimum. Iversen should be at 3 or 4 not 5.
