No idea what Manning is doing but http://www.newportwasps.co IS the official NEWPORT WASPS website. It covers only the NEWPORT WASPS and not the Hornets as well. Mannings site is unofficial and so is his fan forum. There is NOT an official Newport fans forum. -
He has retired, thats why

Yeah I heard we were speaking to him. He could fit in place of Mark Jones in our team which would turn us from a decent team into a league challenging team. But Mark was our first signing, the guy is a gutsy rider and is a top bloke. Would be harsh to release him for Justin.
-
I would imagine Sedgmen would be a dream signing for most 2011 PL teams. On a 6.5 average, he could push 8 in 2011 in PL. Its very weird how he hasnt been snapped up.
-
Why oh why has Justin Sedgmen not got a PL berth? I know he wants to ride PL, so what is the problem? Can see it being 1 of 2 things. Either Swindon are making things difficult for a PL team to loan him, or he is simply asking for silly money. Why else would it be?

How did Mark Jones do Dave?

Why no Alex Davies or Todd Kurtz?

No Team Gb In 2011 Under 21 World Cup
Pinny replied to Pinny's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its probably true, Hackett. But how can a nation thats even worse off than us in World Speedway (the USA) afford to make it to the Ukraine, yet we can't? -
I see that Team GB have not even bothered entering a 2011 world under 21 team into the qualifiers, therefore will not be taking part in the tournament. What a total and utter shambles, and people wonder why British Speedway is on its arse?! Even the USA are sending a team out to the UKRAINE for their qualifier. Think how much this will cost to fund their journey, and they probably wont even go through although we shall see. There is no ambition in British Speedway whatsoever. After this latest scandal, I and I expect many others, will be furious to read any total rubbish from young British riders family or friends regarding them being left out of team places in the PL or NL. They probably only rode in it in 2010 because it was on home soil, in 2011 a bit of travelling is involved and they aint interested. There is no excuse as to why they havent entered. Go into the internation section and look at some of the teams that are in! Britain would wipe the floor with half of them I am sure! Sad, sad times for the sport.

Can this thread now be removed from the PL section? Dont like any EL snobs on here.

Buxton V Newport 31/10 - Sunday Start Time

Well done Buxton, were over the whole course of the season the best team, despite the Hornets being a class above during the first couple of months. But still, to decide the title on 1 leg is absoloutely pathetic. Buxton would of won anyway due to the depleted Hornets side (Kurtz, Webster, Jones and JWW missing) but still, it is a total and utter farce. The BSPA are a disgrace for allowing this to happen, the rules are made up as they go along. Absoloute bunch of 24 carate arseholes. -
Nickis season has been ruined by injuries. His bikes have also looked slow too, not just lastnight but all season. Fully fit next season with some faster gear, i think he can mount a challenge for the title once more.
-
Nicki Emil Janusz Jonsson Must be those four surely. Pedersen has really hit some form lately, he will spend the winter sorting his team and gear out and I expect a huge comeback from him next year. Emil must be given a place due to missing the whole year practically through injury. Janusz has been sensational in his two GP showings this year and has been strong in both Poland and Swedens top flights. Jonsson just missed out and has always been in amongst the top 8 until this year. If Woffiden gets another wildcard or any other Brit for that matter, it will be an outrage.

U21 World Team Cup - British Team Selection
Pinny replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Are you for real? The other three teams look a lot stronger than GB. Sundstrom is more than capable of defeating Woffinden around Rye these days. Hughes is a good PL reserve/second string but no match for the majority of the riders riding. Swedens weak link looks to be Nilsson on his previous showing at Rye, but apart from that the Swedes look pretty good. Poland also look outstanding and Denmark with Bach, Jensen and Hougaard look decent too. Be stunned if GB won this. -
Been a fair bit of passing but the track is dreadful. The race where Pavlic was leading Hancock and basically stopped dead on the 2nd turn summed up how poor it is. Harris has been superb, that last to first ride just then was superb. On this form he will get into the top 8 and he has deserved it. Devastating to see Nicki struggling, you have to wonder whether a year out of the GPs (like Andersen in 2006?) and a return to the EL in 2011 could be the boost he needs!

Feel this could be one boring GP. Track looks awful.

I know full well that Sam basically had everything given to him at Newport Speedway in 2009, no matter what you say. I couldn't give a flying idiot what Steve or Nick have told you. He rode a Mallett bike for most of 2009 and he used to travel in Nicks van to away meetings. He probably got a lot more too. As for what they told me, I am not going into this however I knew a hell of a lot more that went on at the club than you did. Nick may of slagged me off to you and Sam, I couldn't care less to be perfectly honest what he had said, it wasnt specifically him I dealt with regarding the website anyway, it was more with his Dad Steve. Everytime Sam is mentioned, you obviously jump to his defence as he is your son and it is only right you try to defend him but lets just say, I live in Newport, Sam lived in Newport in 2009 and you lived in Dorset. I seen a lot more of what he got up to during the season than you did and I for one am not surprised he wasnt brought back for 2010.
-
Of course it is Vince. Anything your Sam does is never wrong.

No, my implication was that Mark Jones is, in my opinion, a better rider (at the moment) than Steve Worall. Worall and Irving were just two riders I picked off the top of my head. I also think he is a better rider than the likes of Courtney, Davey, Bujega, McDade, etc. I would love to see GB back on the map but sadly it wont happen for some time and it is not fair to blame that on Aussies riding in the NL! I quit my job as webmaster after a shambolic performance against Birmingham in May when I left the stadium far from happy with the way the team performed, and havent returned since. It is absoloutely nothing to do with Nick Mallett having his promoters license taken away from him and anyone who knows me well will confirm that.
