  1. No idea what forums you were viewing then, as Masters made a good impression on track at most tracks he visited and received glowing reviews on here. He certainly impressed me more in 2010 than the likes of Taylor Poole etc. Well done to him for a superb win. Also well done to Doyley on making the semis, he has been in a lot of pain recently due to his continuing shoulder problem. Many will think he should of packed in for the year a few months ago and got his injury seen to but he has shown superb dedication to the Wasps and to Poole and raced through the pain barrier and I for one hope his operation goes well and he returns to Newport fully fit in 2012, assuming we are running, and makes a mockery of his sub 8 figure as if he is fully fit, I am sure he will. Nightmare for Charlie but I aint too concerned, he has been a total star for Newport since his arrival and has been the best rider to don a Wasps racejacket since I first started going to speedway. One off meeting when struggling with an old injury in a meeting like this doesnt concern me too much, just hope he is fit for the KO cup final this weekend.
  2. I heard spin king is getting the first round of lager and shots in !!!
  3. Going up to sheffield saturday nite for a night out then all set for sunday. See you there haters...
  4. Maybe their is some truth in the rumour that Alden is off to Redcar? hmmmm
  5. You can also add Tai to the not up to it list... infact can add any of the Brits you mentioned to that list.
  6. Anyone with a decent stream? The one previously listed is stalling all the time for me.
  7. Go with no Brits next year. None of them are good enough.
  8. Why do you bite to such blatent wind ups? IMO Gjedde and Barker are the top two riders in the PL, but that doesnt mean much in a meeting like the PLRC as proved when riders like Ashworth have won it. I can't see past Shane Parker in all honesty, hes been terrific at home this year to be fair.
  9. Your not winding anyone up - your making a total tool of yourself.
  10. No wind up, me and a couple of the lads I stand with are making the journey up.
  11. I thought the redcar mafia etc were keen to meet me and pinny??
  12. I dont mind watching Lindback again as he is an entertainer when put on a proper track where you can pass, and Bjarne mixes it with the best and is still a very good rider who has won GPs and made finals on his way to featuring in the top 8. But watching Pepe doesnt get the juices flowing at all and he will no doubt be one of the back markers in 2012. Still feel Anton has a lot more to offer to the sport. His world cup form was good and his recent GP scores are improving. he was head and shoulders above anyone on display at Vetlanda, having watched the meeting.
  13. Gaters paradise? been some sensational racing so far !
  14. Dear oh dear. And the Coventry fans have the cheek to call Poole cheats, I remember the time when they ripped into Madsen for using one abroad, well its all coming back to haunt them now Couldnt happen to a nicer team
  15. Roynon back in for Armstrong is the best thing they could of done.
  16. Wish people would get a grip. Ermolenko was a rider in huge decline the year he retired, which must be 6 or 7 years ago now. No way would he score big points in the EL now, a few against the dross at reserve maybe but thats about it. Pedersen hasnt had a competitive race for night on 20 years so Ermolenko should be beating him and it would be a total embarrasment if Jan O had beaten him. Lets also remember that this isnt the first time Ermolenko has taken part in match races since his retirement. Given more practice I'd imagine both will do a steady PL job, but scoring big points in the EL? LOL. Hilarious suggestion.
  17. Then hold it at an EL track. You cant bend the rules to suit the home side, simple as that. It completely stinks.
  18. Still a shambles . Just because they are a new club, leicester should be treated like everyone else. Same rules should apply for all 8 teams, hosts or not.
  19. Then let them use who they want but also allow teams like Newport to ride. You cant have one set of rules for the hosts and another rule for the other 7 clubs!! Its a total shambles.
  20. A total and utter disgrace how Leicester get to do what the hell they like and field whatever team they like despite Magnus Karlsson only riding 2 meetings for them. Utter shambles. I couldnt give a damn if Newport weren't in it due to certain riders not riding enough meetings and Leicester were treated the same way but its a joke how Leicester can field Karlsson (2 meetings) and kauko (3 meetings). If one team can do this, the home team or not, then all teams should be able to. The BSPA were always a bunch of tosspotts but this has well and truly made the sport look ameteur and a total shambles. They should hang their heads in shame. Slowly starting to lose interest now and its not just because its my team. Newport's four of Doyle/Gjedde/Lanham and Sedgmen would be a very hard team to face, it would mean we are in a competition that we havent been in since it was held at Swindon in 2003 and it would of given us something to cheer about had we won. My thoughts would be the same whatever team it was, whether it was Berwick, Scunthorpe, Plymouth or Rye. It makes a total mockery of the sport. I agree that it should be held at a EL track, it wouldnt affect the crowd that much. Thousands of away fans travel to these events, I remember 2002 at Coventry there was about 2-3000 fans there. Huge farce and another nail in British Speedways coffin.
  21. It was done in 1999 and was a complete success. I remember going to Reading and Exeter for the qualifiers and the crowds were big and each meeting was well fought. The issue that is stopping them from coming back is that a lot of promotions/riders dont want the extra meetings to organise.
