Lynn not for the first time have a side that looks great on paper but falls short. Is Lyon a good a manager as what people say? Lets be honest, he done well with them in the old Premier League but some of the teams built it would of been hard not to do well they were that strong. Since rejoining the top division, they have been nearer the bottom than the top most of the time and mainly under Lyon's management. The sad thing is the stadium, from what I remember, was more than decent for a speedway stadium, good fanbase and large crowds. With the right management it should be a thriving club.

People need to drop the idea of hosting any important meeting at Belle Vue. I have seen people suggesting every important meeting in the British calendar should be held there. The crowds for second tier pairs, fours or riders championships there would be rubbish.

Baffling why riders don't ride as a pair sometimes in meetings like this. Seen it so many times over the years, instead of team riding and settling for a heat advantage their ego gets the better of them and they end up costing their team.

The fact Harris left his comments open so long on his post about the incident allowing some of the comments to be posted is bonkers. Can't comment on the stamping incident as there are bikes in the way but would imagine if he did stamp on him then more Plymouth riders and officials would of been kicking off about it. I think Stevelyric is correct on this one. It was often the case years ago that riders would prefer a slick dustbowl to a nice grippy track. Tim Stone often got quizzed on why the track was always so slick every Sunday at Newport and he would always reply that riders wanted it like that. I remember one year Stonehewer nearly having a seizure when he seen the water bowser going out with the tractors. I guess its safer for riders rather than a deep, grippy track. Who knows.

After reading Lawsons statement, though, I guess the rumor going round is false? The rumor I heard was Lawson called Hurry to tell him he was going to be late and miss heat one, so Hurry called him a few expletives and Lawson turned round and went home.

Maybe he is telling the truth, afterall he has been ultra reliable year in year out for nearly two decades now.

Don't think any team is winning the league with NKI and Bomber in there. Way passed their best at the top level now and too inconsistent. As much as they have been class performers over the years, especially Iversen, you won't win the league with both of them in the side.

So riders get a banned for going to get a scan for potential injuries or illness but riders are now doing drugs at meetings and getting away with it? What an absolute joke Uk speedway is these days.

Could be him or Zagar. Zagar is completely washed up now and I doubt he is cheap either. Has fallen off hugely this season.

Every year there are the same comments about things have to take a drastic change next year for the sport to survive in the UK and it never happens. They just bury the heads in the sand and maintain that a two tier league set up is the only way to go. Look at the lengths they went to in order to get Northampton in this season. One league, reduce numbers of rider per team and come up with a new heat format. At least give a try. Two leagues with doubling up and the same teams in town all the time with riders missing isn't working and its clear as day to see.

Sport can't go much lower surely in the UK. Remember when every night you had clubs fixed nights in the PL? Monday Exeter and Reading every week, Tuesday IOW and Trelawny, Weds was Hull and KL , Swindon and Sheffield Thursday, Edinburgh, Somerset, Arena Friday, Rye, Worky, Stoke, Berwick Saturday and Glasgow, Newport, Newcastle Sunday? Every week barring the odd rain off or one week gap.

Its sad to see Worky struggling with crowds after the 1999 comeback year. Always great travelling fans, travelled in numbers and who can forget the support they gave Stoney in the GP. The fact of the matter is that speedway is just not a popular sport anymore. The older generation who supported it in its glory days aren't there anymore anywhere for obvious reasons and the promotions countrywide have done nothing to bring the sport to a newer audience.

Its hard to knock him really. Shows hes a grafter. Plastering alone is a physically demanding job and riding in two leagues plus abroad , hes making a very decent living for himself.
