  1. The worrying thing for me last night was he never even looked like making a gate. Also, I forget which heat it was, but Kenny had the speed and the line to dive inside Davey Watt into turn 3 but he eased off halfway down the back straight. Complete lack of confidence. Compare this to Porsing who a few weeks back was also under fire. He was decisive last night. There is nobody else out there to replace Kenny though so what can we do? Support him.
  2. How can you say speedway loses after a night like that?!?
  3. Some talk on social media about Milik pulling his lanyard off on purpose? Nonsense. Well done Poole on a stirring comeback and deservedly go back to Dorset with a point. Quite clear that the Stars destiny very much depends on the Bjerre enigma. All the other boys are doing their jobs. If we can hang on to the play-offs, I hope Bees pick us as I'd much rather take them on than Poole.
  4. Woah Neddy, let's get to the playoffs first. One match at a time.....
  5. Yes he'll find riding in the PL much tougher than riding as a heat leader in the EL (like he was at the start of 2015) against the likes of Doyle, Iversen, Holder, Janowski, Harris, Andersen, Bjerre, Batchelor. Gimme a break!?!?!? I agree that the gap between the PL and EL is closing, largely due to the draft system (which is not a bad thing) but it is still there. I do think the 60% ratio needs looking at though. That or the PL needs to get in line and have draft system too - you know to avoid any further Greenwood/Konopka debacles. Back to Jacob, IMO he's not quite ready to be a heat leader at EL level YET (but he will be) but he is a better than average 2nd string. He rides fast tracks like Lynn well and so i think he'll be a decent addition to Panthers and one who I look forward to seeing. Who else would Panthers fans have wanted?
  6. The meetings at Lynn versus Poole have always been the best contests of recent seasons, I cannot think of many which didn't hang in the balance come heat 13 time. Who can forget the play-off semi when Holder team-rode Wolbert home for a momentum changing 5-1 or when Niels and Magic both passed Holder and Watt for a 5-1 in heat 15 to an unlikely win for the Stars? The scenes in the pits after that race will live long in the memory : ) Brilliant meetings, and with a little bit of needle between the two teams makes it even better. Buzzing for it! Who cares if it's on Sky, Stars fans get down and support your team. C'MON THE STARS!!!
  7. I hope Darcy is there, and that Buster run's some kind of drinks promotion in his honour - it looks like being a hot one on Wednesday and it's important to keep hydrated.
  8. Just a thought, I imagine Darcy will be there on Wed, you think he will announce his new club live on Sky? Ooooh very dramatic.
  9. Stars by 8, Milik to outscore North, Niels to outscore Holder, Stars reserves to outscore their counterparts.
  10. Have to say, that after seeing Brady Kurtz, Jack Holder and Kyle Newman all ride at Peterborough this past week, the future of Poole speedway looks very bright indeed. Gutted!
  11. Panthers need a new number 1. And a number 2. And a number 5. And a number 6. Thank the lord for MPT (who was brilliant) otherwise they would have been even more comprehensively beaten.
  12. I hope so! All whats needed now is the speaker system to be upgraded so you can actually hear what's being said.......... I didn't complain about the speakers whilst the other chap was on the mic which says everything. Kevin and Edwin are now the 'dream team' when it comes to presenting at the AFA.
  13. Who needs Darcy when we have Vaclav Milik!
  14. Brady Kurtz was sensational, shame he's going to riding for Poole for years and years. I enjoyed the meeting, and well done Panthers promotion for their efforts in bringing in NEW fans. Some 'regulars' need to understand that their support is not enough for a speedway team survive, Panthers fans above all should appreciate this. There simply aren't enough regulars anymore. The bare minimum a promotion should do is produce a team/meeting which satisfies its hardcore fans but they need to focus their attention on gaining new fans in order to prosper.
  15. Milik's old average would have been based upon a 28 match rolling av. no? This season it's only 20 so perhaps the 8 meetings that are not counted towards his av this year were poor meetings for him? Or it could be a mistake, wouldn't be the first one on the greensheets or scorecards for that matter!
  16. With the July averages, we now have 1.81 to play with. Kenny down to 6.47 Porsing down to 4.83 8.28 to replace Kenny or 6.64 to replace Porsing or 13.11 to replace them both. Problem is finding the riders whose av. fit and who want to ride in the UK. Personally I think Bjerre is safer than Porsing but with home meetings galore in July I would be inclined to stick with the 1-7 this month. I'm too loyal perhaps but I just want 'our' boys to succeed! Going to be an interesting week or so.........
  17. Panthers fans should turn up in their droves to catch a glimpse of Robert Lambert this season as the amount of stick he's had off some this season means it's unlikely he'll be riding in the lower leagues next season, especially now he is being signed up to ride in Sweden. It'll be Denmark next, then Poland... Looking forward to tonight, great entertainment whenever I've been to the EOES this season.
  18. Never realised Birks was missing, was looking forward to seeing him and Kerr battle it out. Ellis usually does well at the AFA though too. Didn't Wilkinson have a bad smash at the weekend? Seem to recall a photo on twitter of his bike which looked like it had been cut in half. I see Morris has been snapped up by Ipswich today.....
  19. Yes. They have a match fit WC winner at 1, a World U21 champ in Bech coming into form as a 2nd string and now Birks is in good form at reserve. All the things they have been missing are now in place. Another off night for Porsing, Bjerre and Morris on Thursday and we could get turned over.
  20. The move makes sense to me, I hope it works as I suggested it a while back before we moved Kerr and Morris around. Lakeside look strong at the moment, Thursday night should be a decent test.
