  1. He was deep in conversation with Buster and Michael Lee in the pits after the Wolves meeting last week. Not sure what Buster's Latvian is like but let's hope it will result in some faster engines.
  2. Anyone know when/if Lebedev will be getting some proper equipment over here? I see he scored 14 in the SGP qualifier! The boy has talent, and could be an absolute gem at the back end of the season.
  3. Seriously, It's not as if we're going to beat the Danes and even if we get to the race off, we'll not get past Poland/Australia. So why not go with the youngsters? Cook and Worrall are the future.
  4. I remember Fisher putting Lasse Bjerre almost into the crowd a few years back and celebrating when he got back into the pits by revving the hell out of his bike and letting out a big WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO scream! Probably the most angry I've seen the royal box crowd! Not sure what would be happening to our fabled team spirit if we signed him, but then again a team of guests isn't exactly helping on that front either. Apparently Kenneth refused to ride with him at 2 after he though he caused a couple of bad spills. Again, more baggage.... Another risky move for me but as Wayne Gretzky once said "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"......
  5. GUTTED. Mads was in great form before his injuries, now it's just more bits of bad luck after another. Hope our skipper gets back soon. We need him.
  6. C'mon chaps, let's not dwell on the past, nowadays it's all about Mikkel B not Michael Lee : )
  7. Is David Howe's average going to fall from 5.87 to 5.15 at the next re-calc this month? check my maths! End of 2012 he had 10 meetings, 45 rides, 66 pts (5.87) In 2013, he's ridden 4 meetings, taken 14 rides and scored 9 pts. (2.57) So, 14 meetings, 59 rides, 76 pts (5.15)
  8. Looks like Mikkel Bech rode just once for Swindon a couple of seasons back. A signing like that would be a real statement of intent by Buster, and would give young Mikkel some more track time around the Arena before the World Cup this July where no doubt he we will be in the Danish quartet.
  9. I was thinking that we were nailed on for play-offs, but now doubts are creeping in. For a team built with strength in depth, we are losing our ‘depth’ due to INJ to Mads, Stead and Seb. Mads was superb before his injuries, and arguably Seb and Steady have been our best riders this season in terms of riding above their averages. We cannot cope without all these 3 riders at the same time. This is compounded by the whole Klindt, now Howe situation at 2 and Rory not really delivering either. Niels and Richie cannot paper over the cracks themselves. Looking at the matches coming up, Poole away and then the improving Panthers come to the NA. We could lose both matches quite easily.
  10. You'll be "Nicolai Who?" when we bring in a young Danish World Cup winner!!!
  11. Alden is going nowhere. Sure he struggles on the tight cornered tracks, but at faster tracks he's superb. Although I felt gutted when it happened, Klindt had to be shipped out when he was to maintain his/the teams 5.68 pt average. Howe was bought in to babysit that average (which he may just about do!) for a month. At the end of the month, I expect Howe to be replaced with another rider, perhaps someone who is on an assessed 5.50 average?.....
  12. Stars ride v Swindon, Poole, Lakeside, Peterborough and Coventry 4 times, that looks tough to me. Not great for travelling either.
  13. It's no surprise that the majority of the current group of promoters are in favour of the asset system as this 'majority' have spent years building up their asset base?!? Only the riders can change this situation, by from now on refusing to become an asset of any club. Instead they could remain free agents who can travel the world riding for who they want, over whatever length of contract they want. Within 5-10 years, without clubs being able to attain new assets, the current system would be defunct and riders would be free for whoever. Perhaps high profile cases like those at Peterborough will help to highlight this issue. In my opinion it would be bad for the sport if the asset system would be challenged in the courts as already cash strapped clubs (like Peterborough) would struggle to pay legal fees especially from their paltry attendances.
  14. I wonder why none of the top Peterborough assets appear to want to ride for their parent club? Perhaps Peterborough need to start looking internally to address this issue. Regarding the 'rule' which states that a rider must be bought by a club after spending 2 on loan if they intend to stay for a 3rd?! Is that actually a 'rule'? Had the Chapman's been aware of this rule, I'm sure they would not have pursued NKI in the way they have. Who knows, had they have known of this 'rule' then maybe they'd have signed NKI outright and loaned in Schlein as someone suggested. Also, does a rider have a choice in whether they become an assest of a club?
  15. I doubt neither Howe or Allen will want to settle for a 'pure' DU role - won't give them enough action as fixtures. Both would want a full 1-7 team place I reckon.
  16. Olly Allen has signed for Rye House and is looking for an EL D/UP role.... Maybe with Howe? That's an awesome pairing!
  17. How about this? Trying to re-create the magic of 2011, but with strong reserves which ultimately cost us in my opinion; KL Stars 2013 - 19/11/12 1 Iversen 8.84 2 Hougaard 4.97 3 Allen (5.77)/ Howe (5.87) 5.87 4 Korneliussen 6.70 5 Schlein 7.33 6 Szscepaniak 4.93 7 Smith 3.73 42.37 0.13 Need to sort out a DU with Kozza as well. Will be great to have him back at the NA in 2013. Gutted not to be able to squeeze in Wolbert and it does seem a crime not to include Nermark on a 5pt av. as he CAN beat heat leaders....but was so inconsistent in 2012. Hope I don't see Kennett in a Stars race jacket, Fisher I could handle (maybe) but not Kennett! Would like to see Olly back, used to enjoy him and Mads "team-riding"/slowing each other down. Perhaps you could put Olly at 2?
  18. Wasn't there supposed to be a 5pm announcement today? Possible Rooboy signing? That would be superb.
  19. Unless the current system changes (which it won't as teams with large asset bases will lose out), Lynn will be in the same position each season of having to wait until other teams have been picked before seeing who's left to build a 1-7. Perhaps a rule could be bought in from point x, NO teams are allowed to accrue assets and so in time we'd get to a situation where all riders are free agents and are free to move as they seem fit at the end of whatever fixed term contract they have.
  20. Niels said after the race the other night that he's enjoyed his 2 years at King's Lynn and he would like to come back next year BUT he is still a Peterborough asset and so will have to wait and see whether he is in their plans. Pretty obvious I know but it's no forgone conclusion that he will be back at the Norfolk Arena in 2013. It would be a lot neater if we could just buy him!?!
