  1. What PL football can you watch for £17-£18?!?! Cost me £41 to go to Goodison a few weeks back, it costs £45 at Anfield.....and don't get me started on the Emirates and White Hart Lane. It costs £25 to go and watch Peterborough United!!! We pay £17 and we get to watch riders of the calibre of Niels and Kenneth. The equivalent would be watching Ronaldo and play for Norwich City (who also charge £40 for away fans by all accounts!) My issue isn't with the £17, it's more to do with the lack of incentives to buy a season ticket.
  2. Hmmmmm.... 15 matches at £17 a time = £255 Season ticket is £240 meaning I can't even miss one meeting?!? Understand the £1 price increase but the only incentive to get a season ticket is now to avoid the queue each before meeting. Thought they'd at least offer a free racecard?
  3. Good News for young Morris. Plymouth ride on Friday's at home don't they? IF Stars sign him the Lakeside and Coventry fixtures may clash? Who would get priority in this case as he is an asset of neither club?
  4. No. 1 doesn't ride again until heat 7? Crikey! That could equate to almost a 2 hour gap for meetings at Brandon!!!
  5. Thanks, I think the tactical element of who rides at each position adds 'something' for sure. Glad Stars have 2 'grade A' riders for their 1&3 positions.
  6. Riding at 3 seems tougher this year; of the 8 opponents they face in their programmed 4 rides, 7 of their opponents will be heat leaders (1,3,5). Only once do they face a second string. Riding at 1 means you face a second string twice, and at 5 it's three times. Is there a rule around where riders must be positioned i.e. top 3 must be at 1,3,5 etc?
  7. Last years heat format changes had a predictable and dramatic effect on riders averages. Would be nice to know if that might happen again this season. Not vital no, but keeping fans informed helps to promote interest in a sport.
  8. 'Mushroom Management' - keep the fans in the dark, and feed them rubbish : )
  9. Who cares what the stadium is called?!?! All about the income to keep the Stars going. Now if only we could be told about season tickets..... Never known such a quiet off season : (
  10. Scheduling the fixtures in ASAP makes sense, gives plenty of time for rain offs and can help the team get some momentum. Just hope Niels is back up and running from the start, otherwise we might be playing catch-up.
  11. Funny? I find it pretty scary! This country is going down the pan, and if the current mob of privileged toffs with vested interests are elected again in May things will only get worse.
  12. Most other teams are not on as sound financial footing as Stars are so maybe season ticket sales are not as important to Buster. Last year it did work out that you got a 'free' home meeting. Hopefully we'll have some details of the big 50th season celebration plans soon...
  13. Thank you. Including a programme is a nice touch, hopefully many Aces fans will snap them up and enjoy an exciting season, the team looks VERY STRONG on paper. Potential champions?
  14. I agree, maybe even let them ride in heat 15 if the win is already secured?
  15. What is the season ticket package at Belle Vue?
  16. Interesting to know how many Stars season ticket holders there are? 100 maybe? I imagine that supporters with season tickets spend more on beer and snacks as they don't have to shell out for admission on the night.
  17. Any word on season ticket packages for this season yet? It sounds like general admission prices are to increase, upto £17 I'd imagine in line with the rest of the EL teams (remember we don't pay for parking). 14 home meetings, £17 * 14 = £238 so £199 for a season ticket sounds OK to me. Good psychological price point too. Even better if they throw in a free race card....
  18. Are Leszno really racing against Stars pre-season? That would be superb.
  19. Why not announce a rider and his average at the same time? "Edward has signed for Lakeside for 2015, and will be using his latest EL average which is 6 point something" = no issue. The fact that they haven't implies something is going on.... "Edward has signed for Lakeside for 2015 (but instead of using his latest EL average which is a bit high, we're going to find a way of using his converted PL average as that works out better for us).
  20. Something stinks here. Kennett was on a 6.39 average at the start of 2014, he should ride on that or an average based on that if he rides in the EL in 2015. Typical nonsense going on which drives people mad about speedway. Just out of interest, when EK guested last season in the EL, what average was being used then to assess his suitability? He has a valid 2014 EL average, and should use it.
  21. A local 3TT is another great idea, Stars would need to replace Iversen and Bjerre with some lads from the Young Stars to even things up.
  22. Defo hope we go retro for next year! The old race jackets would be awesome. You could raffle them off too? Also, what about a bit of a stars hall of fame? We could have plaques/photos put up in the new bar? or hang signs up around the stadium like they do in the USA when teams retire shirt numbers? Could make a big deal about inducting former riders and you could get it sponsored by local companies?
  23. I think someone said before about Ben Morley, worth a shout?
  24. Wonder if Mads will be back in 2015? Bargain average.
