  1. To be fair you don't see much atmosphere anywhere in speedway stadiums these days. Even in the GP's in Poland the fans only get excited if the Pole's are winning
  2. Good GP in Denmark tonight, some hard riding, Just one gripe, why when the racing is so good , does no one in the stadium look excited, unless its one of the home riders winning or its Pedersen passing a helpless Greg Hancock
  3. Sorry but the sounds and smells are not the same any more : sadly
  4. I think that tonight's staged managed wearing of an England shirt by Mr Woffinden shows that a: He is aware of the negative publicity which not riding in the British Final has brought and b: It probably does bother him . Glad he did not go the whole hog and kiss the badge Tai rather than wearing an England shirt to show you are English .Just ride in the BRITISH FINAL every year, that works a lot better.
  5. No chance with the people in charge at the F.I,M . Making the sport more environmentally friendly has been a bigger priority than making it safer .
  6. Might be old school here but I want motor sport to have speed but most importantly to sound and smell like motor sport, maybe the new environmentally friendly F1 is one of the reasons why TV audiences are dwindling and in speedway the numbers on the terraces have diminished rapidly (along with the atmosphere) since speedway became more environmentally friendly in 2011. Without the speed, sound and smell, motor sport is just not the same. In my opinion
  7. I'm sure other riders have other commitments and priorities which are much more important than the British final, but they choose to put British speedway first and compete, without this commitment the British Final would disappear from the calendar, If Tai Woffinden's actions is the start of a watered down British final then its a sad day ! .
  8. Watched last nights forum on line and was pleased to here David Gordon's points that on opening night the track was not right, they tried to fix it but couldn't,and the riders were correct it was not fit to race.He also said that they quite rightly received criticism. Not exactly the party line towed by the Belle Vue mafia on here who absolved the promotion of any blame or criticism whatsoever and have publicly vilified the riders at ever opportunity. Appreciate the honesty at last of the Belle Vue promoters
  9. Youre going backwards fast, you would pick Lambert over Nicholls if they are of equal ability because Nicholls shunned the World Cup but if Nicholls was significantly better than Lambert you would ditch that argument in favour of Nicholls. Its seems your not one for principles and are just blinded by achievement. While I don't agree with all of Robert72's opinions on Tai Woffinden , he sticks with his principles and doesn't compromise then just cus a guy has 2 World Championships to his name
  10. You would need to re mortgage your house to afford to watch Glasgow in the Elite League
  11. Robert ,while I'm on same page as you about Tai missing the British Final, your anti Tai rants on seemingly every topic is undermining a couple of valid points you make , might be best to debate the facts and not make it so personal .
  12. How is Robert72's argument to leave Woffinden out of the team because he misses the British Final any different to your argument to drop Nicholls purely on the basis he has decided to miss the World Cup in recent years
  13. Agree . Coventry would be top of the league if Garrity had started at reserve
  14. In years to come we will be thanking Woffinden for swerving this event
  15. You're very lucky to have promoters that never make a mistake ,
  16. Correct , We are lucky to be able to watch riders of Woffinden's standard, just not at the British Final
  17. I disagree, we want the best line up possible of British riders regardless of whether they ride in the British leagues
  18. So you're expecting Robert Lambert to ditch the British final in a few years then ?
  19. Yeah like riding for Wolverhampton in 2014 when his heart was obviously not in it and knocking 2 points off his starting average
