18th July 2016 - Wolves V Swindon
New Science replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I know everything is honkey dorey at Belle Vue but after the National Speedway Stadium's start to the season its a bit rich criticising a track which for the last 9 years has either won or been nominated for the track of the year.. 3 of the falls were genuine racing incidents (which the ref got 2 exclusions wrong). The wobbling was from riders who shouldn't be in the Elite League. -

Really hope the Russians don't miss out on Manchester. One of the main reasons Ive booked race off and final is to see Emil and the Lagutta's mixing it with the World's best No disrespect to the Czech's but not having the Russians in the race off will lesson the event -

The track is well prepared but away sides chase the dirt wide early on and don't realise that 90 % of the passes at Monmore these days are up the inside.. 100 % last night -

Not made it down again Steve. How can something that promised so much deliver so little. Swindon absolute dross, resembled a Premier / National league side taking on an Elite League side who tracked a reserve in the majority of heats. As for the racing, Non Applicable ,The Swindon riders even the likes of Doyle couldn't lay a glove on any Wolves rider including the Wolves reserves when they made a start. Surprisingly not a good crowd for a first vs third on a warm sunny evening. Although the Centre Green presenter said the terraces were packed. Think he meant " the terrace" and it was actually half full.if he took his rose tinted glasses off -
That's a pretty straight down the line statement which I'm sure is shared by many on here. Similarly I have great respect for Tai's speedway achievements but cannot have this 'role model' status. A role model is not just about your success you achieve but unfortunately how you act, live your life and even look You are someone who a young person would want to follow in every aspect of their life. Unfortunately for you Blackadder you are probably in Bwitchers "bigot" category for saying what a lot of reasonable people think

Granted you are correct but nobody put the likes of messers Carter , Lee and Havelock as role models. -
Bwitcher in another heated argument on the British Speedway Forum. You should borrow Ballateli's "Why always me " T shirt

It was a play on words, an attempt to be sarcastic. You make a raw ,hard hitting, blunt statement I try to make out you have used softer (sugar coating) language to swerve the issue when in reality you haven't. Think that's it -
Whats bigoted about that ? The question was about being a role model ie someone you would want your kids to copy or imitate .not a slight on his ability to ride a motorbike. Would you seriously encourage your kids to abandon their education and get their hands and face tattooed.? Maybe its me getting old, don't think so thou

Didn't sugar coat it , say what you really think -
As much as I like Tai as a rider Being expelled from school, having no qualifications, plus having your face and hands tattooed, along with large discs in his ears definitely doesn't set him out as a role model. .(plus his language)

Think its the 2nd time within a year that Woffinden has sworn into the mic during an interview at the GP. Seems he hasn't learnt from that experience last year -

It seems the World has changed dramatically since I was a lad. Now it seems doing drugs, riding uninsured motor bikes, being involved in affray, drinking to excess and now swearing in public are just things ' young people do' . Well for most people the world hasn't changed that much and parents who see these things as acceptable and the norm should take a hard look at themselves -

Are the Danes having a laugh ?. Who in there right mind would want to go into the race off . If the Russians win in Event 1 (not impossible) they could be lumped in the race off with Poland , probably Australia and USA with only 1 place available. Absolute madness -
Chris has suffered in the World Championship since 2011 when the new silencers came in, and the track he rode last night was nothing like the one he won on in 2007

Totally agree, Cardiff takes some beating as a venue for the British SGP. Having done Stockholm there was no evidence in the city centre that a GP was in town, not the case in Cardiff. In Stockholm similar to London you would have to take a train miles away from the city centre. Cardiff may not be perfect for everyone to get to but where is,might get a few more from overseas in London, but a lack of roof cancels that as advance ticket sales would be hit. Cardiff is a great city with all the attractions but small enough to feel like an event in a small town ,keep it there. Only downside is lack of hotels which inflates the cost of those that are there. Not sure if there is any way round that as its supply and demand and there are plenty who are prepared to pay the price on offer -

Thankfully at Somerset on Friday we heard the beloved war cry again. Instigated by the centre green man we had 4 in total. 2 times Somerset and 1 each for Glasgow and Edinburgh. Well done everyone involved for bringing a bit of nostalgia back.
