No the team won't spend much time together pre Final's night,along with extensive practise ,team bonding isn't seen as an issue to improve performance. Lets be honest if Team GB finish 4th its where most think they will finish,its questionable if they would have qualified if not been seeded. Anything better than last will be seen as a great success.

Sure the idea might not be totally original but it has not happened at the World Cup to date. Personally I think its better than the current format and would further improve the World Cup.

Which year and which home nation were seeded to the race off ? My first recollection of seeding was the Czech Republic straight to the final in 2013

Sorry Phil when I posted they were winning comfortably but not confirmed so forgot about them. Cracking idea the new World cup format thou ! It would bring even more intensity to the World Cup. While I'm at it surely Phil the joker rule has to be tweaked / scrapped. There must be a better way. Its embarrassing for the sport to see some of the manipulation tonight. Surely the brains at BSI can come up with something else. Usually they are forward thinking when it comes to scoring systems and correct what doesn't work or isn't fair. Just saw Roscoe's statement on Speedway GB . Its fair enough. He doesn't see practise as that important citing the Pole's obsession for practise and how many World Champions have they had ? Quite true but this is the World Cup not the GP and there obsessive practise has contributed to 10 medals in 15 World Cups including 6 Gold's. Just seems like a potential advantage of extended practise handed exclusivly to Team GB on a track that nobody is truly familiar has been passed up for whatever reason. Only my opinion but given our previous record in The World Cup we need every advantage we can get

Pearson got it wrong and right there. 1 It does NOT add to the drama it makes the sport look a joke. 2 The referee should have excluded the Swede for not racing. Once one gets excluded it will stamp it out

As much as I like World Cup week if the finals are to be rotated around Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Great Britain as proposed would it not make more sense to seed the host nation to the race off. The 2 winners of Event 1 and 2 go straight to the final. The 2 second placed teams go to the race off with the best third placed team joining the host nation. The top 2 from the race off then join the 2 winners in the Grand Final. This would guarantee a healthy race off crowd with high probability that the home team would reach the final. Win Win as I see it. Not knocking the USA but should just 1 riders contribution be good enough to get you to the race off. Watching Hancock tonight score seven eighths of the USA's points they have not got a cat in hell's chance of going to the final. Imagine the race off at Manchester Team GB vs Denmark vs Australia vs Russia with the top 2 going to the final to meet Poland and Australia. Mouthwatering Any Thoughts

I totally get what you're saying, I do. What I don't get is when Tai does make mistakes like the interview in Cardiff you justify it . Why not just say "he shouldn't have done that he was out of order" rather than "its what young people do get over it"

One of Woffinden's beefs with the BSPA was that they were not doing enough to support the riders. A pre season training camp as per Poland and Denmark have was arranged ,hardly anyone turned up. Now an additional behind closed doors practise session for GB riders ahead of the World Cup final is arranged and some riders can't be bothered. Remember we are not in the race off,we don't get a full meeting to practise, surely all the team practising together before official practise can only be of benefit in set up and team spirit. Maybe were that good we don't need it.

Never had a tattoo but surely it might still be a bit sore come the weekend

Sounds like the much lauded pre season training camp which our superstars couldn't be bothered to attend.

I'm in the main grandstand on Friday. Wouldn't mind a couple of beers before the event. Is there a bar in the Grandstand area or have I got to source a local hostelry in the area

The Cardiff hoteliers will love you for this idea. Cardiff is not a cheap weekend as it is ,that's if you physically can get a hotel. Just isn't the hotel beds available for 40,000 people to stop over which they would have to do under these circumstances. Personally I,m happy its at Manchester,better transport links,more affordable hotels and a better track. Win Win Win

Agree with your opinions on the Polish team, the only disappointment must be how the Danes with their youth system don't seem to be keeping pace.
