Wolverhampton V Poole. Elb. 5/9/17
New Science replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Racing at Monmore pre 2011 used to be some of the best in the country. Agree with what you say thou, about 95 % of the passes at Monmore now are up the inside with riders going wide and getting passed up the inside. Unfortunately not a lot happens around the outside these days at Monmore and away teams seem quite generous giving Lindgren and Karlsson a run up the inside. -
The one poster on here who knows Tai personally just defends him relentlessly , so I wouldn't pay too much attention to that, you only get the good news stories. Maybe his decision to retire from this topic and join Tai in the shadows tells its own story. If Tai Woffinden did have a genuine issue with the BSPA's running of Team GB during the World Cup then it would be out by now. I think most people around Tai Woffinden just want this story to go away

Amazing how these threads on Tai Woffinden turn stupid in your opinion when he starts getting stick,.it seems to happen eventually on every Tai Woffinden thread, although according to some he doesn't divide opinion. The only thing more predictable on these threads than Robert72 criticising Tai Woffinden is you defending him, you are both as bad as each other. If Steve Shovlar is correct with his source then I'm not surprised Tai is hiding in the shadows, not much of a team man if his demands are correct. And before you label me a hater I was there in Gorzow this weekend with my 8 foot Tai Woffinden which he kindly acknowledged. This does not blinker my view that I think he makes incorrect decisions from time to time and I wont defend him relentlessly like yourself , mainly because he's your mate and for no other reason.

The problem is, Tai Woffinden is only 25 and its really all come to an end in Britain. Understandably there is no chance of a return for a full Elite League season , the British Final has been ditched this year, the World Cup has been binned now and I wouldn't hang your hat on the training schools either. Our best rider in the modern era has essentially and gradually ' checked out of Britain '. Yes there will be one appearance at Cardiff every year, but as a British fan its crumbs off the table.. I can't get my head round the fact that posters on here who are British speedway fans (the White Knight) recently are precisely not bothered about Britain's best rider not riding for GB in the World Cup , even more galling is he wont give the fans that support him any genuine reason why . People seem excited and comfortable with the stark fact that Britain's multi World Champion's only input into British speedway is wearing a Union Jack race jacket in the GP.. Whats the point of having a World Champion we never see ?

Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ
New Science replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My point is the two biggest contributors on all things Wolves Speedway are you and Bwitcher. Its a little hard taking your opinions seriously when neither of you attend in person. Surprised you didn't go tonight with Woffinden being your favourite beau -

As you started this thread maybe you should have amended it to " return of the Champ " but not me -
If he wears his heart on his sleeve then how come he can't put this dispute out in the open. If he is standing down from Team GB then out the BSPA for what you believe they are, outline your plans / suggestions that you have submitted and tell us your frustration as to why they are not been followed through and let us the fans decide. Or for someone who is so outspoken you can decide to hide behind a wall of silence or the odd cryptic tweet leading to more confusion and resentment

Andrew Strauss hopeless as England captain. ? You must have a short memory ! 2nd on the list of captains, in all time wins for England and one of only 3 England captains to win Ashes series in both England and Australia. Hopeless , Really ?

Agree totally with your post. Pietersen fell out with people at every club he played for, but if you listen to him everyone else is at fault its never him. Graham Norton got it right when he said "after reading your book have you ever thought maybe team sports are not for you" As for Tai its easy and convenient to walk away without giving a full explanation, particularly to the fans that support you. Whats the betting if the World Cup is in Manchester again in 2018 he comes crawling back at his own convenience . Sorry If he turns it down in 2017 then we move on regardless without him. His fanboys as you describe them don't think Tai Woffinden divides opinion. I beg to differ.

Maybe Woffinden was looking for a way out. He managed to find a way out of the British Final now he has found a way out of the World Cup. For someone who is so outspoken, the silence in his willing to reveal the detail is deafening.

Why doesn't Tai make em an offer ? seriously

Who needs a press release Steve when you've made up your mind already .. Seriously how can a speedway rider exile himself from a tournament which is 11 months away and make it known he might be available for the corresponding tournament 23 months away. Absolute Madness. Normally with an industrial dispute time is a precious commodity. There is oodles of time in this case to exhaust all avenues , compromises, disagreements, etc Maybe we need someone from the speedway world to mediate, wonder if Phil Rising is available
