  1. What do you expect people to do? March up and down outside Beaumont Park holding placards saying "Hemsley Out",get real.I certainly don't want the track to close.....I just want a bit of "entertainment" for my money is that unreasonable?
  2. That's never going to happen is it......people are generally apathetic to any form of protest!.......what happens is that if they don't like what they are watching they don't go again meaning most of those who deem the racing poor at best never give the track another chance and find other things to do.I also think that racing on Saturdays will eventually hack off the supporters........Far,far too many guests.
  3. I don't think anyone cares if you have gone away......you've got a vested interest in the club with Long Eaton riding there.....typical hanger-on!
  4. getting smaller by the week, when I think of all the supporters we have lost and the rate the crowds are going down I fear for the long term future.....the crowd against Swindon was well down on previous meetings.....no more than the Premier last season.
  5. I've thought that too Robert,he seems to be batting for the other side rather a lot.....I would love to get his honest opinion of the track.
  6. After reading that I don't know wether to laugh or cry.........does he really believe what he says or is he trying to baffle us with smoke and mirrors?Who cares about a bloody grandstand, spend the money on the track.
  7. I have been to every home meeting since we reopened and I have never heard anyone say the racing is good,it blatantly isn't is it.You say he can't take the risk of changing the track,I say he can't risk not changing it. A couple of seasons ago Hemsley asked supporters for their views on what they wanted to see in the future, the overwhelming responses were they wanted the track changing,he moved the bends in about 3ft each end.....big deal,it did nothing to the quality of the racing. How can track be good, there is virtually no passing at all.....the riders must be pulling their hair out,if you don't gate you've little chance of ever passing anyone. By the way what do you think of the track?
  8. I'm hoping he will read it or I expect one of his acolytes to relay what I have suggested and give a proper response.....not holding my breath as every time I've spoken to him he thinks everything is hunky dory.
  9. First of all David i would like to thank you for reviving Leicester Speedway after 28 years, your ambition, drive and single mindedness finally delivered what a lot of us old fans never thought we would ever see again, but goodwill will only stretch so far. I've see far too many regular speedway fans give up up Leicester speedway solely because the track is so bad....there is no "racing" worthy of the name just a succession of heats consisting of 4 riders in one very long line- follow the leader. I don't know if you watched the Swedish speedway on Eurosport last night...that was "proper speedway",plenty of passing and most races closely fought(oh, for it to be like that a Beaumont Park). I read in the June 21st edition of the speedway star that the Finnish GP track at Tampere is to be changed before next years GP,the promoter Jarno Kosonen says the track will be made shorter and wider and considering its a carbon copy of Beaumont Park both in shape and the way it rides why not do the same? I am a season ticket holder and the 4 guys who i stand with are also season ticket holders, but to a man we have all said unless the track is drastically altered...not the piecemeal so called changes of 2 seasons ago we won't renew, thats approx £1500 in lost revenue to the promotion...if 50 people decide not to renew thats 15 grand, surely it would be cheaper in the long run to keep the punters happy than to lose them forever. Could you give us a straight answer to a straight question....will the track be significantly altered to provide decent racing..yes or no? David you've got a great purpose built stadium, good facilities, pleasant staff working for you but a track not fit for purpose and deep down you know that. Don't mess it up,there's a good lad.
  10. Why would you feel sorry for Leicester fans,we all know the racing is not top notch but we the decide to go or not....it's our choice.....so no need to patronise us.
  11. Are you Stevie Wonder in disguise? To say that the racing at BP is better than last night is ridiculous, granted there was not much passing but the actual racing was far closer than the vast majority of so called "races" at Leicester!
  12. Oh you fool......I'm only on here to stir the poop..........hook,line and sinker!
  13. Who said that "professional" sport is fair?
  14. Can't believe it!!!!......there is criticism of the track on the lions Facebook page.....that's a first!
  15. Leicester, whose first year in the Elite League has been disrupted by injuries, have entered the transfer market and completed deals to bring in two new riders, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Nicolai Klindt. Buczkowski joins the Rapid Solicitors Lions on loan from parent club the Peterborough Panthers and currently rides in the top divisions in Poland for Unia Tarnow and Dackarna in Sweden. The twenty-eight year old Polish international was not initially in the Panthers 2013 starting line-up but was asked back to re-join them in July. His arrival helped turn-around Peterborough’s season that was going nowhere and Buczkowski soared to the top of the team’s averages after a spate of double figure scores which included three consecutive meetings where he remained unbeaten by an opposing rider. Buczkowski, who becomes the first Polish rider to race for the Lions in the new era, replaces another Peterborough asset, Patrick Hougaard who has been out of the team since breaking a thumb at Coventry in April. “It is well known now that Patrick has decided to give British Speedway a miss following his return to fitness which is a shame but we wish him well and if he ever decides to return to race in the UK then I am sure that there will be a lot of interest for his services. We have operated long enough with guest riders and we can now look forward to having a full team again. Krzysztof has proved himself over here before and he was one of the success stories at Peterborough last season and comes into the side on a 7.33 match average which places him second in the team to Jason Doyle” explained the Lions team manager Norrie Allan. Nicolai Klindt, who started the season at Swindon, lost his place after just five matches for the Robins but then was offered a contract to ride for Scunthorpe in the Premier League where he has risen to the top of the Scorpions averages. The twenty-five year old former European and Danish Junior Champion gave notice of his pedigree during a preliminary round of the Grand Prix challenge in Slovenia last Saturday when he won the meeting after a run-off against the home favourite and Belle Vue number one Matej Zagar. Klindt now joins new teammates Jason Doyle and Mads Korneliussen in the semi-final of the competition due to be staged in Poland in a week’s time. Making way for Klindt’s arrival is Lasse Bjerre who has yet to show the form that made him a big favourite during his two seasons with the Lions during their Premier League days. “I think Nicolai was unlucky to be discarded by Swindon where he was averaging close to six points a meeting but he has really hit a rich seam of scoring for Scunthorpe. He is much better than his current average and at 3.83 it has enabled us to fit in Krzysztof Buczkowski. It is unfortunate that we have to say goodbye to Lasse so soon after he re-joined the club but I had to take into account the team as a whole and I believe that we are now stronger than before. If we can avoid another spate of injuries which has blighted our season so far then I am optimistic that we can begin to improve and start to move up the league table.” added Allan. Subject to the British Speedway Promoters’ Association approving the transfers then both Krzysztof Buczkowski and Nicolai Klindt are expected to make their debuts for Leicester on Wednesday when the Lions take on the Poole Pirates for Elite League points in Dorset.
  16. I think we should run on a Friday night......Leicester supporters have got used to weekend racing.
  17. I bet you he does read these things but there is no way he will admit it......Hemsley is typical of the kind of my way or the highway, head in sand fella....he'd rather shut the track than admit he is wrong......I live in hope that a proper speedway person will buy him out,but I won't hold my breath.
  18. I wonder if Norrie,Glyn and the riders could persuade Hemsley the benefits of changing the track, surely the riders want a circuit where they have a chance at least to pass another rider ......it's their living after all and points make prizes! When I see racers like Simon Stead and Lasse Bjerre struggling to get anywhere near affecting a pass,it can't be right!
  19. whoever told you the racing was dire at Blackbird Road must be suffering from some sort of dementia.....The track was probably the fairest track in the country with very little home advantage and the entertainment value from just 1 meeting is more than all the meetings at Beaumont Park since it opened combined.
