  1. Wonder if any of the riders secure between 4th and 8th after Torun will aggravate an old injury and have to pull out of the Aussie GP !!!!!!
  2. As is usually the case with your opinions that is completetly wrong
  3. Total nonsense. Was Peter Collins win in 76 diminished by Olsen not competing. Was Olsens 78 win diminished by PC not competing. Emil has simply proved what a weak individual he is by allowing himself to be manipulated like he has, maybe he has shown he doesnt have the make up to be world champion
  4. Top end speed isnt, and never has been the be all and end all. The dohc 4 valve jawa was much quicker than the weslake, in a race down the motorway the jawa would win every time. Despite that the jawa was rarely the weapon of choice because converting that rpm to forward motion was difficult.
  5. Not a bad effort after a skinful of beer though, just the one mistake
  6. You are against the GP because some riders are selected for commercial reasons. Good job you were not watching speedway between 1950 and 1994, jeez the system around back then would have destroyed your interest compketely!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Presumably you are only a few weeks into watching speedway then or you wouldnt "assume" something stupid like that
  8. 9500 X £25.00 is just short of £198,000 Nett but I would expect ticket prices to be higher. I think the cost of running the GP would be far in excess of £200,000 pounds
  9. Don't know. He is busy working on "hypocrite" at the moment, although the dictionary he is using seems to have a completely wrong meaning for that one as well. If he is struggling with "thick" maybe I can help him out. As an example, someone who keeps using the wrong words in sentences could best be described as "thick"
  10. Well at least not now he knows what "sycophant" means
  11. Even less are in any doubt about the personality trait of the person doing the describing
  12. You are not alone in loving the old World Final, I went to many and enjoyed them. The reality is often different to the memory though. The qualification system was very unfair, it was rife with seedings, one year (1970) almost 40% of the field were home country seeds, and p1ss poor ones at that. Many very top riders missed out while second rate foreigners were there. Almost always by heat 8 at least half the field could't win and by the interval it was usuall down to 3 or 4 possibles.
  13. Or the first world championship formula is maybe the one he refers to. The one where Bluey Wilkinson scored a 15 point maximum but was only 3rd Wilkinson himself benefited from the same system in 1938 winning outright despite scoring the same points as the second place rider. Customhouse regular has simply taken the format in place at the time he best enjoyed speedway and made it the "proper way" to decide championships
  14. It gets like groundhog day though Phil. For years the same suspects have banged on about the so called "closed shop" of the GPs. Many of us have shown that there is now a more open to all qualification process than ever existed before. It then dies down a while before the same crap crops up again.. Tell the Americans how fair the old system was pre early 70s, and even after that when they could have no more than 2 riders in the championship chase proper at a time they could boast Penhall, Autrey, the Morans, Sigalos, Schwartz etc, Tell PC how fair it was in 1981 Bet Martin Dugard thought 1992 World Semi Final was fair The list goes on (and on and on, rather like the dinosaurs on here)
  15. But we were discussing the SWC events staged at Kings Lynn. They have always been BSI promoted events, as would an event at Belle Vue wete it to happen
  16. Teterow is approx 100 miles North/North West of Berlin and a similar distance East of Hamburg and those are probably the two closest German cities. It is only a few miles futher to Gorzow. It certainly seems to go against everything BSI claim to want for the SGP to allow a GP her
  17. BSI have promoted every world cup event in Britain since day 1. They dont tend to farm out sure fire money spinners
  18. The World Cup is a BSI promoted event, any profit is neither Belle Vue's or the BSPA. The Aces should get a rental fee and some nice bar and food takings
  19. As the crow flies Manchester to Edinburgh is approx 180 miles North. Manchester to Poole is the same to the South. Manchester to Ipswich the same to the East and Somerset slightly less to the West (I know Plymouth is a bit further) That seems pretty darn central speedway wise to me
  20. Indeed it is, although we regain our podium place when it comes to the amount of rainy days per year!!!!!
