“Whatever the outcome, the idea of a GB-Australia Test at Wimborne Road is a mouthwatering prospect.
“Once again, I am truly honoured to be staging this Test and it promises to be a great meeting between two immensely proud speedway nations.
“Unlike the World Cup format, the Test will revert to seven-man sides and true team racing.
“Last Monday at King’s Lynn we witnessed some of the most exciting speedway this season between the likes of Chris Harris and Chris Holder.
"The fact these two will again be going head to head and on a Poole track which they both admit is among their favourites, really does whet the appetite.
“The meeting is designed for August 1 as it runs right into the school summer holidays. I am hoping it captures the imagination and that fans, neutrals and brand new supporters will come out to watch a Test match like this of the highest quality.
“Obviously it would even better if either country wins the World Cup in the next three days!”
Poole team boss and GB manager Neil Middleditch added: “Great Britain and Australia Tests are legendary in sport and they remain, in my opinion, the most prestigious in speedway.
“I’m so pleased to see that it will be taking place at Wimborne Road, too, one of the great tracks for racing in this country.
sorry to say this is waste of time! how fixtures are going we mite not fit them all in. and if the weather keep on going as it is they may be more fixtures. Matt Ford is a joke the bloke is waste of time he wanted euro league as well this year.
