Even with the backing of the UK visa and immigration that he has a case to be eligible to ride due to missing a round through injury that basically stopped him automatically getting his visa the BSPA committee still rejected it. Doesn’t come as a surprise with who’s on the committee, Godfrey the worst of the lot. This is where an independent panel is needed so there is no self interest.

An American and a protest by certain clubs was the rumour.

It’s a very young side with Ricky being the eldest at a grand age of 26. Its a side built with improvement in it fully expect the Riss brothers and Josh to kick on again this year and put points on their averages. Matt as well to keep improving. Not sure what we will get from Joel yet, but from videos and scores I’ve seen from Sweden he should be able to hold his starting average. Personally feel like the final rider will determine if this side will be play off contenders or not. Whoever it may be needs to either increase or hold there starting average IMO if we want to be up there once again.

New riders to British speedway are being reassessed on a case by case basis. Joel being given a 4.00 average for the premiership.

Apparently you use his Premiership average of 4.00 and use the new 1.3 multiplier to get his 5.20 average.

Welcome Joel. very good signing tried signing him a couple of years ago but he didn't feel ready to come over at the time. Pickering starting at reserve looks to be the trump card for us come next season. Will always leave us with a high scoring reserve. with 10.10 remaining for the final two riders it will be interesting to see what route we go down. Go with either a 8/7 with a 2/3 or more solid with a 6 and a 4 point rider to finish. Just need to wait and see.
