  1. Think the academy will surprise a few.
  2. Always be pressure from the owners and management to win things.
  3. I know who you’re referring to and he’s not the most expensive maybe on par with the those two though.
  4. Think the whole point of moving away from the devils and to the monarchs academy is so it all links with the first team being the Edinburgh monarchs. Bit like a football system where you have the academies who will then move up to the development sides and then eventually the first team. Similar here with the new system the club have put in place where we have the academy the now monarchs academy NDL level and then the Edinburgh monarchs. Nice stepping stones for the kids to look and aim for.
  5. Don’t think embleton is doing any NDL this year but could be wrong.
  6. Shame about josh as work commitments meaning he’s having to move away from the side for the time being with them being a Friday night. Hopefully see him return in the near future.
  7. Really like the new way the club have gone showing great initiative once again. Gives a good clear pathway for the younger generation from the academy to the NJL to the NDL and then onto the monarchs. shame about josh not being able to commit due to work hopefully see him back sooner rather than later. https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2023-01-17/edinburgh-monarchs-academy-enter-national-development-league?fbclid=IwAR2qgEW8UbmfCSytI488SulkxOIM_c6_1tmOs6Vw4kJJI0-H4QiFqVJBmtE
  8. There’s also a good few that have said no cause of the travel.
  9. Just not plenty of riders willing to travel for one.
  10. What ones of the 7/8 point average riders are being taken by commonwealth riders? Only reason they’re being used is cause there isn’t enough capable heat leaders about.
  11. I’d rather see a competitive league than a side of 5 3/4 pointers getting hammered home and away. with 2/3 non Brits taking part is it really affecting the league as much as you’re making out? not really.
  12. He’s not interested in the NDL can’t be bothered with the travelling for the away matches for it. I’d guess the few named will be in the side with one or two surprises.
  13. Still riding bikes but now on race tracks than oval circles.
  14. Out of the commonwealth riders who are riding they’re all 8/9 point men. So what brits are they replacing of similar calibre who rode last year?
  15. Never thought I’d see a 2.00 reserve get his own thread but here we are.
  16. I’m sure they could’ve found a Brit on that average would’ve been different if his average wasn’t so low.
  17. Not the only one, as it’s happened this winter to a rider. But for some reason in this case it hasn’t.
  18. To maybe clarify why a commonwealth rider is coming in on 4.5 average perhaps. Instead of 8.00 like others.
  19. True, but just looking for some clarification on how they come to such an average. As any other riders who’s dropped down average has doubled for the NDL but Congreve only gets 0.5 added to his. This is taking advantage of the system which is completely what letting commonwealth riders back in wasn’t supposed to be for. Pretty sure there several brits on a similar average that could’ve filled this spot.
  20. Of the same opinion all for commonwealth riders getting a spot to fill the spots so to speak on those higher averages. But this is taking advantage of the system and is very poor imo. I know there’s a rider not been announced by another team who’s coming in on double his championship average. Roynon last year came in on double his so the question needs to asked and answered from either Mildenhall themselves or the BSPA.
  21. Agreed would be interested to know how a commonwealth rider who has a championship average of 4.00 joins the NDL on a 4.50. Considering I know there’s another commonwealth rider who average is basically double.
  22. I’ll have whatever you’re on for Berwick being a very strong looking side.
  23. Looks absolutely cracking for viewing. Looking forward to coming down with the devils as long as I have the time to do so.
  24. Who’s to say the rules haven’t been changed.
