  1. Only been a couple of the boys paco still in Italy and Jacob was off to Poland think kye was going with him as well unless he changed his mind. But good that they managed to get some laps in not quite pulling up alongside against 3 others at the tapes but better than nothing.
  2. He’s got my full support seen the light and returned to the good side and all that. Think a lack of bike time and no having raced in 5 months isn’t ideal preparation.
  3. Averages for a reason, just cause they’re British doesn’t mean you should ignore that fact. Daft logic.
  4. With majority of the boys not having had any track time and no laps round Armadale till they get to the tapes on Friday with practice being off I think track time and race rust might be a factor in the outcome of the result. Think it’ll be close, think either could win this by around 2/4 points.
  5. Was always going to happen at some point
  6. Jacob hook confirmed as the final rider for the academy for 2023.
  7. It’s probably the least safest safety fence in the U.K. imo. all the best to jack in his recovery lad hasn’t had much luck.
  8. Daft rule. Could end waiting longer. Movement at the start one minute goes on. Rider misses the one minute. Fresh 2 minutes go on for a replacement. Just do what all other leagues do in the world 2 minute clock and if you’re not at the tapes by then you’re out. Don’t know why we love to complicate things in Britain.
  9. Bickley confirmed as number one for 2023.
  10. The only people who would attend would be the hardcore fans. A press and practice watching riders go round by themselves isn’t exactly going to appeal to fresh faces is it. As you said it’s to get pictures of the new one to seven and for some press guys to report and do some interviews about the new season. Press and practice sessions aren’t for getting fresh faces in to watch. If you’ve ever been to one they’re actually quite boring.
  11. It’s really simple and in the name. It’s for the press and for the riders to practice. It’s not aimed at fans.
  12. Weirdly enough the academy were the only place to offer him a spot I believe.
  13. Based on what? Good experienced rider who will help progress the younger guys in the team. What every team needs. Double his average and lap most of the riders. We are talking about Adam roynon here and not Tai Woffinden.
  14. From what I believe when enquired about Roynon they were told he’d be on his 6.00 assessed as was given for Plymouth. As he hadn’t done enough to get a proper average he stays on his assessed one given. Academy just following what the BSPA have decided.
  15. For any pirates fans interested Adam Roynon has signed up with the Edinburgh Academy for the 2023 season.
  16. Thank you. I’d like to the thank Glasgow speedway for this award.
  17. League sponsorship paying off well already, good to see. Bit of the cash put in given back with a payday from this.
  18. Mickie Simpson and Alex spooner the next 2 for the academy. Welcome to the monarchs. https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2023-01-29/simpson-and-spooner-sign-up-for-monarchs-academy?fbclid=IwAR1Ms2Qc5KnhwCvfnVWUKTD6548kkJgVBNOvJRbJFUE6m_Mf_BOYE-hq0G0
  19. Good way of paying less tax via “sponsorship”. However benefits the sport in some way and a bit less goes to those pesky royals which is a winner. however I do see the point of it wouldn’t happen in any other sport in the world where a club owner sponsors the league. However it’s speedway so sporting integrity doesn’t exist does it.
  20. So the company doesn’t lose any money then as it goes right back into the hands of the same people. Doesn’t sound fishy at all.
