  1. Cook has said himself he wants to double up again next year so don't think we need to worry about getting a new number 1
  2. Of all people to start the thread it would be you! Leader of the somerset 'partick branch' fans group!
  3. Well done to Somerset on being crowned champions! Thought they would have finished us of earlier than they did but for us to keep our chances alive until the last bend of heat 14 was a fantastic effort from our 6 boys tonight! Unlucky in the end but we will be back to do it all over again and hopefully go one step further.
  4. Tabaka is 4th in the averages which gives Vissing, Fricke and the reserves extra rides.
  5. Cleary lacking amibition! http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/2967/cook-come-and-get-me
  6. Maybe next year! Well done to Somerset who in my eyes are all ready champions after there performance tonight. there is no chance we are going to be able to go down there on Monday and keep it within 2 points! not a chance. We as a team were just not good enough tonight lacked speed and poor out of gate at times as well. In saying that I thought Vissing had one of his best Armadale performances of the season as well. Heat 14 killed us tonight as we might have stood a chance with Tabaka in the race but the 2 reserves v Josh and Wright we didn't really have a chance but not a lot can be done about it now. Now onto the heat 9 incident. Probably the worst crash ever to happen at Armadale it was sickening to watch. To be honest I wouldn't say that Mr Morris (as much as I dislike the boy) would diliberatly try and take out another rider that is stupid. I was standing on the 3rd bend and Joe was infront with Nick just behind him going into the corner. Nick then tried to Move to the outside to try and make a pass and mistimed it pretty badly you could say clipped Joe's back wheel which straightened him up and catapulted him at some speed through the fence. At the end of the day it was a racing incident in a Play-off final which could of happened to anyone. Just hope wee Joe is okay as he is supposed to be getting married in a few weeks!
  7. We need to take a double figure lead Down there if want to have any chance of being crowned champions again!
  8. I don't think it helped himself any by staying in Edinburgh and having to drive down to Redcar and Poole every week pus away matches as well! That probably contributed towards all the costs!
  9. So one of the the most pointless home meetings we are going to have all year as we welcome our friends from the west. We are 20 something down from the first leg and Glasgow have brought in Armadale specialists in Ricky Wells and and Ashley morris in for the retired Screen and Ringwood who is away home. They also bring in Thomas Jorgensen for Dokata North who i think is riding for Peterborough and will operate R/R for Thomson because Glasgow can't be bothered flying him over for the meeting basically. So his rides will be taken by Bager, Jacobs and Morris ( who has a higher average than both Thomsen and Ringwood) The home side will have Morten Risager guesting for Cookie at number 1 as he has to ride for Bell Vue Teams for Friday: Edinburgh Morten Risager (G) Max Fricke Claus Vissing Joe Tabaka Theo Pijper Liam Carr Derek Sneddon Glasgow 'select' Ricky Wells (G) Henning Bager James Grieves Anders Thomson R/R Thomas Jorgensen Ashley Morris (G) Joe Jacobs
  10. Terrible news it was only last month some young kids smashed our hospitality lounges and tried to set it on fire to them as well! Hope use catch who ever it was. Been a bad couple of months for both scottish clubs with vandalism hope it doesn't happen again.
  11. Don't know why we are talking about Edinburgh 2014 when we still have the 2013 season to finish! How about we leave making our fantasy teams till the season is finished at least
  12. Easy win tonight for the monarchs all performed steadily! Klindt though was appalling considering he is supposed to be an EL rider was shutting of going into the corners and everything very poor! Also was that really Steve under that helmet :o or was it Ritchie riding under his brothers name as i have never seen him perform like that before in my life! On a different note nice to see William Lawson out in the second half doing some laps is this him lining up a return for next year? you never know but he would come in on a handy average mind you!
  13. And how right you are mr Hawkins won't be riding tonight due to injury! While theo will make a late decision to see if he fit enough to ride tonight or not.
  14. So tomorrow night could make or brake our season depending on the result we get tonight as we welcome our best friends Ipswich for which could be our last match of the season. The witches will be missing over half their team in Barker, Tungete, Lanham and Ellis and will replace them with Wethers , Klindt and possibly bates depending on his fitness and will use R/R for Lanham while the home boys will line up at full strength. Line ups for Friday: Edinburgh Craig Cook Max Fricke Claus Vissing Joe Tabaka Theo Pijper Liam Carr (G) Derek Sneddon Ipswich Matthew Wethers (G) Cameron Heeps Nicolai Klindt (G) Leigh Lanham R/R Morten Risager Josh Bates (G) Ritchie Hawkins
  15. he excluded Cookie 3 times when at rye house earlier in the season for touching/demolishing the tapes! as he likes to hold the tapes a bit longer than other ref's, so no rolling a loud tonight then by the looks of it!
  16. You can't help it sometimes paulco it just instinct Anyway Mr Jimmy Greives certainly rolled back the years on Sunday pleasure to watch so he was!
  17. And they probably haven't heard of you either so what's your point?
  18. What exactly do you mean by ''brought him back down to earth''???? Can't wait to hear what pathetic reason you will probably have! I think it was aimed at jamlad's pathetic excuse of a post!
  19. Well we made hard work of that one against an average comets side. Thought we were poor tonight concidering how well we have been going at home recently but we got all 3 points which is all that matters.
  20. Don't usually start them till Wednesday night! So not been the best start to the week after some local thugs caused thousands of pounds in damages to our hospitality lounges! but the show must go on and we welcome Workington in the PLay-offs! For Edinburgh Theo and Claus will swap places at 3 and 5 and young Liam Carr will again guest at number 7. For Workington they will have R/R for Tero Aarnio, who's rides can be taken by the reserves and Rusty. Should be a comfortable home win as the comets don't usually have the best record around the Dale. Teams for Friday: Craig Cook Derek Sneddon Claus Vissing Joe Tabaka Theo Pijper Liam Carr (G) Max Fricke Workington Richard Lawson Rusty Harrison Kyle Howarth Tero Aarnio R/R Rene Bach Ashley Morris Chris Mills
  21. Once again workington guest gets them points but that's speedway! Could of been so much better though if theo didn't fall on that 5 - 1 and then lost a 4 - 2 in the rerun or cancelling out our 5 - 1 in 13 by losing one in 14 but sh!t happens i suppose! well done to cookie in getting his two maximums over the meeting he has been immense for us this season!
