Which in the grand scheme of things is ridiculous really, for a guy who still rode NDL/NDT an was offered two team spots at the start of the season and was going to sign for scunny mid season till he got injured. Robs ball his rules.
-
Spot on, it’s just a cover up for the real reason as to why it exists.
-
Which is a bit different to how they announced it in the press release which was: RETURNING RIDERS (CHAMPIONSHIP ONLY): If a professional British rider has not ridden in previous seasons, they may apply for a reduction on their previous Championship average of 8 per cent for each year missing. It is hoped that this will provide some assistance to riders who have taken time out of the sport, and who are now once again seeking team places. The way they’ve said it sounds like it it’s for riders looking to make a comeback in the sport not guys who’ve still rode and decided not to ride championship. So it seems like the rule has been written in a way that it can be abused, which in this case clearly is.
-
Of course tweaking the averages so at the time in a development league a young promising teenager can still ride is the same as making a rule up, which I believe is only this year and to be looked at for next so Rob can fit Nathan in his side in a so called professional league. Was announced to bring riders lost to the sport back yet been written in the rule book differently so things like what’s happened has happened. It’s down now so is shat it is. Don’t trust the guy in charge which he’s given plenty reason not too.
-
Come on now let’s not 😂 Two completely different situations in a two completely different leagues. Let’s not start trying to compare apples with pears.
-
Which is wrong, rules there for guys who are trying to get back into the sport not for Godfrey to make up as he goes so he can fit people into his team. People wonder why the sports dying when you’ve got people like him.
-
Think Ablitt average is the real question. As it all doesn’t fit under 40 if you apply the correct discounts. So very unsure how this team has actually been made.
-
Would love to know what averages rob has made up for this to fit. Cause if you’re using the rules correctly which I know he struggles with that team comes to 40.06.
-
Does Phil Lanning not have a lot to do with it. Hence why you get quite a lot of Glasgow related things on it.
-
8.50 if you want to be specific, I’ll let you do the maths for what you’ve got left, funnily enough will be the same as my original answer. 😉
-
Way more than scunny have to play with. 😂
-
Is that why you, Oxford and Leicester forced the points limit which was going to be 40 up to 42 or you were going to pull out unless you got it your way. If it was 40 you’d of probably been okay with Just Jake. So let’s not go down that route, job for the boys with Simon let’s not kid on it’s not.

Do they not normally wait till all Polish leagues are out so they can try work around them? I know the bottom league was only recently released so maybe why the wait.

Glasgow shows the way
Mr Blobby replied to Wee Eck's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I believe he was contacted regarding an academy spot and NJL spot then told us he’d signed for Glasgow in the NJL so put an end to that conversation pretty fast. I know a space was also open for Mark if he wanted to continue riding but he’s taking time out of the sport for the time being I believe. -

Pretty sure Marks not ring anymore, the other two don’t think are good enough for NDL yet. Liam maybe just but he’s decided after the academy bringing him on to move to Glasgow in the NJL so that’s that bridge burnt. -

Northern Junior League 2026
Mr Blobby replied to bigdave's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
You can only pick 2 riders and we’ve picked 2 from our actual academy. So not entirely sure what you’re on about. 😂 -
The rider coach thing is just a cop out for having him in the team. it’s a job for the boys kind of thing as he’s in with club there.
-
4 not 5, but the club does struggle to get brits to travel up to us here at Edinburgh that are of a standard which is good enough. Hence having to go down a different route. We do have the Monarchs speedway academy which has plenty of youngsters in attendance, just not old enough as of yet to compete apart from one who turns 15 this month but is too soon for him ride NDL. Give it a couple more years and hopefully we’ll have 2/3 Scots in that line up.

Lynn in the NDL
-
So the Academy have Announced their 7 for the new season, with 4 new faces and 3 old ones. 3 brits and 4 fake ones, with one being the sister of Jordy Loftus Jordy Loftus Dayle Wood Connor Coles Vinnie Ford Jamie Halder Ben Whalley Anika Loftus Interesting looking line up that should do well. Slightly disappointing the lack of actual brits but it can be a bit challenging to get them to travel this far.

It did yes.
-
didn’t realise that means I now need to hate him. 😂
-
The places he rejected last year were a Friday and Saturday night tracks. So pretty much same as Scunny. Also remember he couldn’t be bothered coming to Armadale one Friday for Belle Vue I think it was in the NDL but don’t tell anyone till the afternoon he wasn’t coming, real reliable. Nothing actually against Nathan, cause actually a good lad.
-
Yeah there’s no way couple of the riders been announced so far are on the NDL pay structure.
