  1. Many congratulations to the management and on securing the signature of a rising talent within the speedway world. To compete at the level this young man has and such a young age is a little bit special I think. Mikkel has the potential to be a world star in years to come and im sure he will do well in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see how he goes around the SBA as it may well be a little smaller than the tracks he has been use to riding on. I have absolutely no doubt he will cope very well though. I seem to remember a few years back a tiny little chap, who's name escapes me at the minute, coming over and racing at the SBA in a challenge match, organised by Niki Glanz ? He had never even seen the track and in his his first ever ride around the place he broke the lap record!! Im sure Mikkel will be more than capable of doing the same. Id just like to wish Riki Kling all the best for the future and hope he can sort his personnel life out and resume his racing carrier in the future. It would be a huge loss to the sport if he did not resume racing and realise his true potential in the sport. This guy is a really good rider and its a shame his performances have be nowhere near the level he is capable of. Would love to see him return to the Devils team in the future and perform at his best for us. His best would be plenty good enough ;-), good luck sir. Anyway, off to Somerset tonight to see Cory and Mark lift the trophy for the Devils and then on to Cardiff tomorrow to see Ty and Chris finish 1 & 2 on the rostrum in Cardiff!! Aim for the stars and you just never know! ;-))) Good luck to the boys tonight, be safe and super fast!!;-)
  2. You have all got to have some faith people! The riders are trying, you can see Cory, Ricky, Chris and Ty were really disappointed with themselves last night. The track is inconsistent at the moment, last week it was deep and this week it looked hard and slick. As a result there is no home advantage and no consistency for our lads to build on. I know its the same for both teams but when you come to an away track, your mindset is set up to see what you get when you arrive but at home you should have a consistent track and therefore an intimate knowledge of the track lines to pass or defend position. Our boys don't have that at the minute but they will do. Ty cant buy a start in the Premier or the Elite at the moment but was trying so hard, i'm amazed some of you couldn't see that. If he wasn't trying what was he attempting to do when he took a nasty fall? He could have just sat in the place he was but he didn't. He was attempting to get past another rider! I have every confidence in the team and they will get better and better as the meetings go by. They have not got into a rhythm yet but when they do they will be a solid team home and away. The boys travel huge distances to ride their bikes and win races and the more points, the bigger the pay check! Keep the faith people and keep coming to support our team!
  3. Congratulations to the management team in putting together a very solid looking outfit. I think there are a number of the riders who had an indifferent season last year and will be looking to improve this year. With the core of the team being Australians, I think there will be a good team spirit with plenty of support for each other, both on and off the track. I look at that team and I feel we are a much more solid unit and I think the whole club will be a much happier place to be in 2013. For me Mark Lemon is a massive signing for the Devils and probably the key to our season. Mark is a well respected figure in the sport and still a tidy rider too. His experience and professionalism will help the whole club and i'm absolutely delighted a guy of his calibre is going to be able to help and guide the likes of Ben Reade and Todd Kurtz. Todd and Ben improved last year in all that mayhem and i'm sure they will improve again this year in more harmonious surroundings. Mark will no doubt be a massive help in Cory rediscovering his best form after a very difficult year under the previous management. I think its probably very difficult for all of us to appreciate how difficult a season it was for the lads last year as we were not party to all the goings on and do not know all the facts. However, I did see Cory riding 100% for the team and supporting all his team mates home and away so the guy has my total respect as does every single one of the 2012 team. As I said, I'm sure the team will be a solid unit this year and I think a rider like Chris Schramm, who had a difficult year coming back after a very nasty injury will benefit massively from the spirit and support i'm certain will be there in abundance this year. What a pleasant and refreshing site that will be for us all to see. He has invested in his machinery so lets all hope he can avoid injury and build his confidence back up. Capable of being a heat leader so plenty to be optimistic about with Chris. Ty Proctor and Ricky Kling are known to be big chums and both have a high regard for each other. i'm sure they will be looking to be very competitive home and away. Riki rode the SBA pretty dam well a number of times last year and I don't think he will be headed home by many this year either. Ty is a class act too so I'm sure he will do really well home and away. A few of the guys will not ride the SBA to well from the start but they are all very skilful and capable riders who will improve and get to grips with it pretty quickly i'm sure. My guess is that the track surface will be much much better this year and the track staff will have better equipment to prepare the race track. Imagine how that should enhance the track and possibly provide even better racing than we have seen up to now. This year Plymouth Devils are what I feel is a proper team! Every one of the guys has something to prove if not just to themselves so i'm sure we will win more than we loose. A team that has been built to be a solid team, which has more than a fair chance of winning on the away tracks. This is something that we have not really had in the past and i'm very much looking forward to the season ahead. Everyone has the right to an opinion and to express their views. Those that are critical just need to remember that these guys travel huge distances and invest thousands of pounds in machinery. Not one of them is doing that to come in last. Everyone of them would love to be world champion one day and win every race they ride in. It doesn't always happen so we have to support them when things aren't going well and enjoy the highs with them when things do go right. Lets hope we all enjoy more highs than we do lows this year. I hope we enjoy a good season and the riders ride well and stay safe. Good Luck Plymouth Devils. :-)
  4. Dear Mr Dodger, I totally respect your and other peoples opinions on the forum. It may pay for you to do the same. My post was put together after having read a number of previously posted teams that i had seen and using names that had been in other forum members teams. It was an opinion of which i and other people are entitled, not just yours! The new promotion will do things there way and i will follow the team as i have always done. I will offer my total support to the riders, whoever pulls on a devils race jacket. At the end of the day the team needs to be competative in order that the paying public come and support the club. The track, facilities, lighting, bankings, fencing etc etc are all sub standard and will need to be improved for sure. The team will be what it is but my guess is they will go for a competitive solid team with no out and stars. A team capable of winning home and away. Personally id like to see an air fence, which maybe us as supporters could raise the money for over a period of time. A pound a week from each of us and it would soon mount up. It would benefit all. Just an opinion before you borrowed
  5. I think the new promotion will go for a solid team, "team" being the main focus of the side. I think Mark Lemon will feature in the side, good rider, solid team man and will be good home and away. Cory impressed me with his attitude and commitment in tough times last year. Id like to see him back. Todd could be a good one to have back too and im sure their and is better things to come from him this season. Ty Proctor will do ok if he is the chosen No1. He should be solid home snd away so I'd be content with him too. Ricky kling could alao fit the team ethic and he like Proctor and Lemon will would definitely give us a solid look and all are well capable riders in this league. Be interesting to see if Niki comes back, i have my doubts? Rides the tight line and very reluctant to ride around the boards. Id give him a miss myself. Id give Ben Reade another go though. He has come on so much in the last twelve months and is another one who could improve on his average with more experience. I like his attitude too, always has a go even when he's last. Im sure there are many riders who could do a good job but id be happy and content to follow a solid team who has a chance of winning points away from home and should be tough to beat at home.
  6. I have opened the link supplied by "Keyham", (thank you) and its still saying an error has occurred and it also states i've been banned too!?? Any ideas on who to contact to sort this out as I have not been on the site for a few weeks and not posted anything derogatory on anyone. I read other comments rather than write much myself. I'm puzzled and would like to sort it out. Can anyone supply or forward my problem to David, who I think is a moderator or administrator for the forum? Thank you As for the snafu tag, Ive used it for a number of years now. A colleague and I used it on our shift change over when asked, " is everything in order"!? The reply was snafu!! lol
