2013 Best Ever Gp Line Up?
Gavan replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If you win a gp are you world class? Gollob won the first gp of 95 so i think he was world class though he did drop out the top 8 i believe losing to Henka in a run off at Hackney (sorry will always be hackney not london staduim to me!). Took Leigh Adams an age to win a gp same as AJ so are they not world class. Loram was world class in 95 look how he destroyed the semi final in 94 and i believe he finished world number 6 or 7 in 95? Its a good point Lucifer Sam and on achievement maybe 95/96 is better but this year does have potential -
2013 Best Ever Gp Line Up?
Gavan replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
as i stated i believe that Iversen and Zager could make that step up. At the start of this season who would have said that Lindback or Vaculik or MJJ could win a GP? I apologise and hope im wrong but Tai isnt good enough. My top 8 Holder Ward, Nicki Emil Lindback Vaculik Gollob Greg/Lindgren/AJ/Hampel -
Is next season the best ever GP line up? In my opinion we have 12 or 13 riders all capable of winning a GP in there. The exceptions are possibly Iversen and Zagar though they are maybe more than capable and basically Tai has no chance. If you look back at this year then Bjarne, Hans, Ljung, Harris were never likely to make semis let alone win one. What do people think?

JJR you should be thrown of this forum for your idiotic statements. you clearly are clueless with your knowledge and your sole intent is to antagonise others, and you have made a clearly promising rider in MJJ become a laughing stock when its not his fault, so why dont you just get off this forum and let others have the discussion. would be easier to pick a 1-7 who are disloyal to the panthers MJJ and Sullivan and the Bjerre brothers to start with

Gp Challenge Final At Poole In 2013
Gavan replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
MJJ will need to not choke like he did in this years challenge 00000 for a rider of his potential looks like a novice at times -
Not anywhere near Jensens class but Savalas Clouting was similar. At Ipswich he would either fly out and win the reserves race by a mile and then wobble around at the back in every other ride, or would wobble in the reserves race and then beat a heat leader next time. Would usually score 3 a meeting with his scores either 3,0,0,0 or 0,0,3,0

Dont see why people find fault with the gp system! yes a one off world final was dramatic but you had a couple of 'lucky winners'. the gp system determines and rewards consistency. Under the old one off we could have had Bjerre, MJJ, Vaculik or Lindback as champion on one night only! Mark Loram wasnt the best rider in 2000 Rickardsson was granted but over the 6 rounds he got the most points end of story.

Confirmed 2013 Gp Riders!
Gavan replied to Hunty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Some morons on here need to start backing Tai. Its not his fault he has been offered a place is it!! For the record he will be bottom and not a cat in hells chance of winning a gp. Wouldnt expect him to score over 8 in any meeting any takers? lol -
TNT i dont think Tai can win a GP but its all about opinion and if he is in the field i will support him. He could be as good as as Vaculik but think Vaculik will get better and Tai isnt as good as the others you mention
-
In my opinion (and i hope i am wrong) Woffinden would be the only rider in the gp series that is not capable of winning a gp (maybe Iversen?) MJJ has proved he is capable of doing that though i would be surprised if MJJ would be consistent enough to make the top 8. Someone on here said Tai could make the top 8? never in a million years will he be in the top 8 and again i hope im wrong but in my mind he will be bottom of the 15 regulars
-
Tai does not deserve a place any speedway fan realises this but a brit will be in is all politics. In my mind Bjerre deserves more than tai. finished in the top 8 3 seasons on the bounce has won a gp and injury stopped him doing anything this year ( tho was struggling admittedly) This is not a dig at Tai but if the 15 is who we believe then Woffinden is the only rider in there that i cant see winning a Gp next year. Agree/Disagree?

Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Gavan replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
foreverblue correct vidic should have been sent off = wrong decision holder wasnt excluded wrong decision. i dont mind holder being champ its someone new and he is the best rider this year and on that reason he deserves it. i also dont agree with the people who say it is a tainted title because it isnt tainted at all the best rider won. but please dont be so blinkered to think he wasnt lucky in the semi. first bend bunching doesnt exist so get away from that. was it an unsatisfactory start? pedersen was in front and got hit and fell off because he was hit. holder should have gone i cant see why people dont see this. anyway well done to holder the only way the title is tainted is beacuse of the idiots that were surrounding him amongst his crew, they let him down big time. pedersen was having a little wind up chat and to be fair holder was not paying to much attention then his twit of a brother gets involved!! aussie mentality lol -
3 months ago i said that the 4 would be Hampel , Ward , Vaculik , and Tai and nothing would change my mind now. as i also said THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A BRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it looks like a very strong series next year with the deadwood has beens of Bjarne, Hans and Harris going and also an out of depth Ljung. Next year there are 14 riders all capable of winning a gp round....and Woffinden

Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Gavan replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
i dont really like either rider but the facts are this: 1. Pedersen made the start 2. He tried to clamp Holder (as he was in front so quite allowed) 3. Holder didnt shut off (to be fair he shouldnt) 4. Holder had 1 wheel over the kerb (perfectly allowed) 5. Holder by having a wheel over either hit a rut or picked up drive 6. Holder ran into Nicki due to the drive he got (not Holders fault) 7. Nicki then fell off because he was hit by Holder. Im not saying Holder meant to do what he did but that is irrelevent. He was the reason the race was stopped. As i said if this was turn 1 of lap 3 and Holder did the same he would have been excluded. The ref wanting to decide the title on the track is a total cop out and wrong. Lets say last gam of the premier league Man Utd v Man City and they are level on points. In the 10th minute Vidic commits a professional foul and should be sent off but the league should be decided on the pitch so the ref lets him stay on!!! The correct decision should always happen whatever time of the meeting or championship its at. Holder should have been excluded his crew a disgrace to him. For what its worth i think he would still have won the title as dont think Nicki would have beaten Gollob or Lindback. and before any jumped up poole idiots moan its not Poole bashing just a wrong decision -

stop the argument of Holder hit a rut, it doesnt matter. first bend bunching is all 4 back. The reason Pedersen came off is because of Holder end of discussion. yes he hit a rut and it sent him into Nicki, so if that happened on lap 3 who would have gone? its not hard!! -
Chris Holder World Champion
Gavan replied to T.N.T.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Proved to be the best rider over the 12 rounds but boy oh boy he was lucky tonight. the ref bottled the semi final decision. if that had been any other semi in any other round he would have been excluded thats a certainty -
Lesser of 2 evils here. Nicki for the fact he is dirty and Holder to smug and do i really want his grin all over my tv on saturday with Ward jumping all over him? Nicki for me

MJJ scarped into the semis and won and didnt make the semis in the other gp. he was good in the wtc but shocking in gorizan. WARD HAMPEL VACULIK are certaintys thats for sure. Tai will be in for politics only as really MJJ should be in ahead of him but he wont be

Carter Where Does He Rate With The Great British Riders?
Gavan replied to stratton's topic in Years Gone By
Firstly anyone who achieves in their chose sport has talent just shown in different ways. Who was the more talented gifted snooker player Davis (6 titles) or White (0 titles) which proves that natural talent doesnt mean you are better or more successful. Joe Screen is a more talented motorcyclist but in terms of success is nowhere near Carter. How do you rank success? In the world final Wigg, Tatum, Doncaster and Chris Louis have all been on the rostrum and 3 of those riders have won as many british crowns as Carter so in terms of success they may rank ahead of KC but i think Carter had more natural ability then any of them, but Wigg and Tatum were exceptional on longtrack as well. Scott Nicholls has won 7 british crowns but doesnt make him better than Carter as this era is easier though Scott can only beat what is there. In my opinion based in my lifetime 1976 onwards this is my ranking. The top 4 due to success in world finals and british champs would be Peter Collins, Loram , Lee and Jessup in any order. Close behind would be Havvy. Then a group of Carter, Wigg and Tatum Then the likes of Simmons, Louis and Screeny and Doncaster and Morton -
sorry i apologise sidney
-
he may be nice guy but he will not ride in england next year simple really
-
Sorry did i read this correctly? Chris Holder a better rider than Jason Crump or Leigh Adams erm not yet doesnt matter if he wins this year or not
-
thj racing wake up. mjj does not give a monkeys about pboro. he is a world class rider on his stage like at the world cup and no doubt in the gp. he doesnt care about england and if you want a rider like that in your team then you are a bigger idiot then we already think. Your team should be built around Bjerre and Sundstrom and Buck (not andy who rode for eastie but the pole)
