Ipswich v Peterborough KOC semi final Thursday 11th May
Gavan replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I said Cook rode well but yes I would hope our number 6 if he had six rides away from home would hopefully do better than an average of a point a race And yes Hume to only get 4 was very disappointing he can’t be doing that against stronger opposition For Lisa to say it’s a Poole thing is pretty pathetic -

Disagree…. You want your number 6 to be able to go out there and pressure the other teams second strings Cook was ok on what I believe is his first visit but 6 rides and 6 points isn’t good enough … he beat a clearly out of his depth Thompson for 3 of those and beat Hume once …. Never gave up but should do better -

Well I’ve never been to a meeting where the top away rider scores 6!! Rew is a talent definitely going places he passed Worrall twice tonight and Emil couldn’t Peterborough were a disgrace bar Jenkins and to a lesser extent Cook and Worrall Hans was not trying , Basso awful apart from one ride and Iversen isn’t a heat leader anymore -

No because Shovlar is a fool and only posts for reactions If I’m wrong I’m wrong but I think you have enough riders who go well at Foxhall and the top 5 could all get 7 or so easily …. 4 or 5 from Cook and 2 or 3 from Jenkins and I don’t think it will be the thrashing you think …. I may be wrong but we will see -

I think this will be closer than many think …. NKI Jacobsen, Basso, Hans and Worrall all go pretty well at our place … Cook and Jenkins maybe not but with Joe T looking out of his depth the worst they can expect is a 3-3 in heat two…. I think 48-42 to the Witches -

Ipswich V Kings Lynn May 1st
Gavan replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought Klindt was pretty good and actually got stuck in thought he has always done well at Foxhall so could be a flash in the pan…. Trouble with Lynn is that they have all similar 6-7 point riders and none of them will improve … Klindt TJ Toft maybe even Jacobsen will only ever be that kind of rider … you only need 2 or 3 of them to have a 4/5 point return and it’s trouble If as quoted King wasn’t on the victory lap that’s poor from the captain -

If our reserves can get 9 or 10 between them that’s job done but that increases pressure on Hume to get 8 at least which he isn’t always going to do so I agree we have to look at a rising star who might get 3 or 4 from 3 rides rather than young Joe only getting 1 or 2 though it does seem harsh on the lad Rew is looking good to me just can’t gate and Foxhall isn’t the best home track to try and pass on for him Rumours we have a replacement lined up for Riss for 28 days….. Batch? Cook? -

King got 10 plus 1 from 6…. 8 from his first 3 when the Lynn riders were struggling with the track …. He had no speed and was passed with ease in 2 heats ….. so yes it was an off day for whatever reason maybe wrong set up And if he has words with Emil that’s pretty poor… King was to slow to wait for as proved by the Lynn boys both going past him Lynn got better as the meeting wore on and Klindt Jakobsen and at times Toft did ok and so did Howarth and Edwards Lynn made the wrong move with KK he is just awful clearly shutting off every corner and when Rew got alongside he did the same wasn’t the bike And yes heat one Hume could have been excluded and in heat two Howarth exclusion was harsh I felt should have been all 4 The only correct exclusion was Jakobsen but how long did the ref wait before putting the lights on!! -

KK is a disgrace no other word for it. Fair play to some of the Lynn boys who got going and young Edwards did ok For us King was awful …. Young Kenyan always on the pace and deserved heat 15 as Doyle not fit Emil just wow -

I’m here today and at least Jakobsen trying …. Doyle fantastic third to first….. Kasprzak needs to retire shutting off going into the first corner -
Everyone banging on about Zmarzlik being a cut above… Yes he is currently the best around but if Doyley had of not hit a rut he probably would have won it …. Likewise the Brit boys handing him gate one in the semi Zmarzlik is simply the most consistent makes every semi where as riders like Madsen and Janowski always bomb out once or twice like tonight … and even Tai Lambert and Doyle will have meetings where they done make the semis … Zmarzlik seems to make every semi and often turns that into a final

Ipswich v Sheffield 20th April
Gavan replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We aren’t going to win many matches by much this season because of the way we are built …. Doyle and Emil will always score big …. Danny got 9 last night which will do although disappointed he didn’t look for Rew when on a 5-1 just raced off….. R/R only got 3 which was an issue …. But Danyon after an awkward start did really well and Joe got 2 which is really all we can expect. Rew will come good is on the pace but Foxhall isn’t easy to pass on anyway For Sheffield impressed with Gilkes and Holder is just useless at Foxhall hardly tries an inch Ellis was average and so was Howarth…. Kerr did what was expected and Nicholls was sublime and fast as well didn’t win his races by being a roadblock he was quick We will get better and better as the season goes on -
Leicester vs Ippo KoC QF 2nd Leg 17/04/23

Can’t see us holding on to our lead here think Leicester will win by more than 12 on the night -
Belle Vue v Wolves KOC 1st Leg 10/4 12.00
Gavan replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Can’t see Lidsey being a heat leader he is same level as Brennan over here You had to break up a title winning side but you have lost Fricke(Lambert) Zagar and Etheridge and replaced with Bewley, Lidsey and Mulford … makes you much weaker -
No not at all …. I just wouldn’t have expected him to have done much against Doyle and Emil in 13 and 15 …. Just an opinion
-
Only 4 points isn’t good enough from him and beaten by Hume who was poor all night Your reserves as expected beat our reserves but didn’t beat another away rider and at home I think your reserves need to pop out and beat the away teams second strings sometimes
-
Belle Vue lose Fricke Zagar and Etheridge and replace with Bewley Lidsey and Mulford Thats a weaker side than last season by some way and I think unless changes are made they may only struggle to top 4 but it’s all about opinions
-
The same Nicki who was behind Riss in heat one when he fell If you think in heats 13 and 15 he would have beaten Doyle and Emil twice then I’m sorry I don’t agree with you Worrall is a journeyman and the reserves tonight weren’t good considering we have possibly the weakest reserves in the league you would expect more maybe Basso is awesome at home but needs to up his game away though it didn’t take Rew long to find the fastest way around showground Peterborough need to win at home as that side away will be poor I think
-
So ok a 5-1 to us becomes a 3-3 still a loss on the night And even if he split them the other time a 4-2 to Ipswich would have been a draw So no I don’t think the loss of Pedersen cost them any points at all
-
Foolish statement Iversen got a 5-1 in heat 10 so let’s say Nicki would have Do you think he would have beat either Doyle or Emil in 13 and 15….. laughable So maybe in 13 and 15 he might have beat his partner but that’s it Poorly built dads army
-
Really? Heat 1 - Pedersen on the wrong end of a 5-1 when he crashed Heat 6 - Basso gets beat by Sayfutdinov Heat 10 - Iversen gets a 5-1 Heats 13 and 15 no chance Sorry I dont think Pedersen would have done any better Rew - next big superstar from oz
-
Haha Panthers think losing Pedersen cost them Was already in 3rd when he crashed …. Then his replacements got 4 and do you think he would have got anything in heat 13 lol Proper dads army side destined for the bottom only shining light is Basso and young Rew has just shown him the quickest way round his home track didn’t take him long to size it up Long season for Panthers
