Seems a crazy decision to let Foord go on that average … Poole fans see him as the next big thing so why let him go? There is definite ‘baggage’ with Foord maybe that was the reason
-
So you think 5 out of your top 6 will improve their averages? Tall order
-
Yes 11 races at Lynn Emil got beat once which was by Kvech….. although Kvech was beaten twice by Emil and Rew and King and once by Thompson Good rider Kvech is no question but I still think the side is average …. Solid but average ….. though with the teams Lynn have had recently this one looks pretty good compared to those …. Big reliance on Iversen and Klindt for me as they will need to cover the weakness of the top 3
-
Average side with 2 second strings riding at 1 and 5 Might get in the play offs but at the tail end of a meeting with Doyle Emil Bewley Kurtz Holder and Tai they will be found wanting
-
Well speedway has just gone full on Mickey Mouse with this decision Irrelevant that it’s Poole it’s a cup competition for the top league and the top league only Basically it will be a Poole select side ….. as an Ipswich fan I don’t want Tom representing Poole and risking injury and not would whichever club Ben Cook rides for Absolute farce of a decision
-
Kurtz and Bewley are fantastic riders and I would say on a par with Doyle and Emil for sure ….. but to say they are more reliable is you talking out of your ass like you do all the time …… why don’t you do us all a favour and eff off
-
As an Ipswich fan with the best top 2 in the league I like the idea of the superheat being 2 didn’t riders to heat 15 which might sound strange as Ipswich are almost nailed on for any superheat but I agree it would add a bit of spice Let’s say (somehow) Kings Lynn are 4 points up against Ipswich going into heat 15 …. I would bank on Jason and Emil to get two 5-1’s
-
People need to realise that with Danny as second string he will be paired with let’s say Doyle in 3 if his 4 races ….. So against Sheffield he will be with Doyle and then one of J Holder C Holder or Tai …. Realistically he is going to be third in those races .. may occasionally beat the opposing third heat leader ….. His job is to then win heat 8….. that will give him 6 points every home meeting ….. same scenario as Ellis who would need to win heat 14 If Ellis and Danny get a minimum of 6 they will have done their jobs …. 46 wins you a meeting and I can see our top 3 getting 34 most meetings between and that’s without factoring in the reserves What I’m trying to explain is last year Danny at number 3 would have been against 2 second strings or a reserve and one opposing heat leader … fair to say he should be getting 2 points in those races ….. so this season I can see his points going down but purely due to being the third best rider in the race rather than the second best ….
-
Bang average side that one Our heat leaders Doyle Emil and Brennan very superior to Cook Kvech and Lawson… 2 of those were second strings last year …. Ellis and King better than Iversen and Klindt Harris should do better than Dan T and maybe not much between Boughen and Jenkins A team that might scrape 4th but injuries aside miles off of Ipswich Sheffield and Belle Vue
-
You will never get 7 riders improving their average… you only need 3 or 4 to do that …. I maybe wrong I haven’t checked but Belle Vue won the league and I’m sure Bewley Lidsey and Blödorn didn’t add much to their averages if at all As mentioned people need to realise that King riding at 2 with Doyle means in those heats he is likely to only get third places and hopefully win heat 8 to get 6 a meeting ….sometimes he will get 8 when beating the opposing heat leader but sometimes only get 4 or 5 if an opposing second string like a Blödorn or Pickering beats him …. That’s where he is and that’s more than acceptable
-
I think Danny’s average will fall for one reason … he is riding at number 2 As a number 3 you face opposition heat leaders in every race along with a weaker rider from each team … let’s say at number 3 you lose to the opposition heat leader but beat the two lesser riders … that’s 8 points from 4 rides If Danny rides at number 2 he will be with Doyle and an opposing heat leader so in those instances he will get three third places and hopefully a win in heat 8 thus making 6 points Some brain dead Ipswich fans will probably not understand this and expect that Danny’s average will rise
-
Danny riding at 2 or 4 is a fantastic signing … not so much if he is at 3….. can easily see him scoring 6 or 7 at home every week and with a strong top 3 that’s all we need…. Though im sure first meeting of the season lets say home to Belle Vue and he is in heat 1 and gets third behind Doyle and Kurtz that some Ipswich fans will moan about it lol
-
With Brennan at number 3 only leaves King Rew and Ellis to fill the 2 and 4 spots …. Preferably Rew and Ellis for me But for all the King haters I’m sure Danny riding at 2 or 4 would get 6 or 7 most home meetings and that’s more than enough People seem to forget Danny rode as a leader at 3 or 5 all season and was struggling with a bad injury yet averaged more than Ellis who rode at 2 or 4….. that’s nothing against Ellis by the way just speaking the facts

Born in 1976 and my early days where at grass tracks (my uncle is Ray Andrews who was passenger for Dave ‘Ben’ Heath )….. first started speedway in 1982 at Rye house and memories of Garrad Naylor and Cox all in black and white check leathers and Andy Fines in red and white check and the histrionics of Mullarkey …. Always used to cheer for our reserves … Bryenton Chaplin and Ott and then the best of the lot came through Andrew Silver ….. then remembering Kerry Gray who came to my aunties on Christmas Day …. Good times

Birmingham Oxford and Sheffield the weakest

Vinnie Foord - is he too dangerous?
Gavan replied to BackInTheDHSS's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Fine line between reckless and dangerous I don’t believe he is dangerous or deliberately knocking riders off He is reckless riding above his capabilities at times Unfortunately you have the Poole blinkered mafia who won’t hear a word against him or see when he has done wrong Hopefully it’s because he is a trier and he tries too hard …. Because at some point things have to change for him he can’t keep riding how he is -
Tobias was the rider of the play offs??? Scores of 2 and 5 against Workington and then 4 away at Oxford in the final before 10 at home against a weak Oxford …. Might be entertaining and tries hard but to say he was Pooles top rider in the play offs is laughable
-
Is it the strongest top 4….. Doyle Emil Brennan and Ellis similar Rew will do better than Rowe Dan T and Jenkins are better than Gilkes and Flint It’s an ok Sheffield side and will make the play offs but doesn’t look like a championship winning one ….. Then again anything can happen in speedway

Vinnie Foord - is he too dangerous?
Gavan replied to BackInTheDHSS's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would say Foord is totally reckless which in turn leads to him being dangerous Over riding the bike and little or no regard for his opponents He hasn’t got the skill set to ride as he is therefore yes he is dangerous -
So just for perspective King averaged more than Ellis King rode at 3 or 5 most of the season and Ellis rode at 2 or 4. Personally I don’t mind which of the two we keep as I believe they will do a similar job if they ride at number 2 Danny King is now not going to go out and get you 10 points every meeting like some deluded Ipswich fans expected at the end of the season he isn’t that level As back up to Jason Emil and Tom he would do a decent enough job riding at two I have zero preference over King or Ellis I’d welcome both back as a second string not a heat leader ….. I just feel Danny has become an easy target for some of our fans

Gavan replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If you support Poole and don’t agree with the following then you are not a speedway fan Foord should have been excluded … he is simply a danger on a bike and his and his family’s reactions were disgraceful…. If you condone that that’s shocking Boughen rightfully was excluded with Zach Cook …. Bet you Poole numpties agree there Nicholls made a good start Poole fans except the odd one or two are so pathetically blinkered it’s embarrassing Shovlar is a troll and like a child and nobody takes him seriously Then you get a few other morons trying to defend Foord lol Foreverblue I’m not including you -
