Armstrongs move in one of the races was worthy of any track in the world! and any league. -

There not suffering? Plenty of youngsters are getting a chance, if it was purely a training league I wouldn't pay to watch it. -

Home fans biased towards their own riders ! Of course they are! Watch any football match or any sport, home support is always going to back the home team or sportsman, given the chance. In fact home or away, you are going to be one sided towards your team. Hopefully this shouldn't spoil the afternoon! -
Does anyone know the lineups for this meeting, can't see them anywhere?
-
This could be closer than you think, but I expect Mildenhall to win.

Lakeside V Kings Lynn 19 May El A Sky Match
Damo b replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What does anyone think of Lambert pulling a wheelie across the line after his mistake? Seems a strange thing to do, it's like celebrating a free kick, by running over to the crowd, like you had just scored a goal? Perhaps it was done out of embarrassment ? I know he's only 16 but it seemed a bit of an odd one.... -
Will Bates be riding at either this meeting or on Sunday?
-
I understand that the riders are spread thin this year riding in all the leagues, but all these absentees from meetings spoils it for me, it seems most meetings at least 1 or 2 are missing.....
-
As I say, unless you are on the list now, you can't find it. Anyway onto today's meeting, my thoughts are, Halsey rode well as usual, Bates had trouble at nearly every first bend and had a frustrating afternoon, Morley just doesn't seem fast enough, he is a tidy and neat rider, but not fast enough, both Conners rode well, and Kingston will be a real talent, reminds me of Bates a few years back, but even faster I think! Well done to the Coventry team though, they rode well. We missed Jacobs today and Bates had a nightmare.

Talking of the Facebook page, the admin settings must be a closed group or something as if you are not a member of the group, and you type in Mildenhall Speedway or other variants, it doesn't come up. I have recently had to set up a new Facebook account and even on that new account, you can't find the Facebook page, perhaps the settings could be changed and a link to the Facebook page added here or the main website.

I don't quite understand this lower points limit makes it cheaper situation. Here goes, a team has a 40 point limit, it hires a 4 pointer and offers to pay him £25 a point, as he shows real potential and is worth it, he scored 8 points in most meetings, and then earns £200. The same thing happens but the team points limit is 35, if he is on the same package, and some might say if the points limit was lower he would be more in demand so could earn potentially more, 8 x 25 is still 200. There are the same amount of points available at a meeting regardless of the team points limit.

I still don't think that gives them or anyone the right to complain, if you move next to a pub, then you have to be aware, that the potential is there for noise/activity to change. Now if you move somewhere with no pub, then one is going to be built, then you have a case.

Basically there isn't enough of any riders let alone, heat leaders. Just look at the moto cross track near west row, hundreds of lads turn up in £50k plus campers, if only that many where riding speedway, then every club would have a huge choice. The reason I mention the campers is that usually you get the old reason that speedway is expensive which i understand, but moto cross with all the gear and a camper can,t be that cheap. I wonder if Mildenhall had the track open on the same weekend as the moto cross was on, and had a couple of bikes available, would any of the moto cross lads come across for a spin, as this would give them a chance to have a go at no outlay? Specially if someone got in touch with the moto cross club/ members before hand so they were aware of the invitation. Just an idea.

I will add one bit here, at least Nikko like some others on here, put there name to the post rather than hide behind some made up name. In my opinion a point of view has so much more weight if you can put your real name behind it.

I would like to see Danny Philips signed for next season, other than that any thoughts on who from the 2013 team will return? Halsey, Armstrong, Bates and can Nielsen ride NL this year? Those would by initial 5, with Phillips at reserve obviously.

I think your post is an honest one, and i fully understand your rationale. If im honest I too have cheered slightly if a rider falls or has an engine failure, but this is not that I wish any harm on anyone, no matter who they ride for, it just seems like the natural reaction at the time. It happens in various forms of sport so I dont think speedway is alone. Its the same feeling really that causes me to love the sport, when a rider gets through on the line to beat another rider. I really like boxing and cheer when the fighter I am backing hits the other fighter with quality clean shots, as this is part and parcel, I wish no lasting harm to the other fighter other than him or her not being able to continue in that bout, basically the same as if a rider falls or has engine trouble, they are then unable to carry on, and a victory is ours ! It really would be bad if anyone actually wanted someone to be harmed, but I dont think that is the case, hardly ever, so good luck to all riders just fall off and get back up.

Mildenhall V Dudley - National Shield 1st Leg - Sunday 7th April
Damo b replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
This is one of the best posts i have read on here recently ... -
I heard Mildenhall will sign Stephan Nielson?
-
all sorted now with staged payments, and team should be announced before the new year !!! nice
-
OR you could ask for a deffered payment or staged payment for a few months to assist cash flow...no harm in asking....roll on 2012. Either way Im certain the Tigers will be racing in 2012, the crowds are to big to close.
