You are the one who speaks rubbish ..It's common sense that Belle Vue Speedway are the ones who must make sure track is fit for purpose before they open (as Swindon will do next week ) no matter who built it in the first place .You don't have to have any facts just common sense , ,You don't and can't reply because there is no answer to that . If Swindon run the meeting next week and the track is not ready I will the blame the club not people who built it as the buck stops with them as it would do in any other business who have not fully checked and ran tests before opening .
-
Morton and Gordon messed up ..they try to run a meeting on a track that was clearly not fit for purpose ,. Thou MCC were at fault for the building of the track but it was Belle Vue who should had ran test meetings etc etc to make sure it was ok before letting a massive crowd in . As I said on another topic ,Swindon have done the right thing by not running the meeting but you really do have to question why this work was started so late .
-
Common sense to not to run the meeting but questions have no be asked why it took so long to start the work in the first place leaving such a tight deadline .
-
I thought every Belle vue said the crowds were down .in fact there were pages about it
-
As has already said teams who at weekends have done bad gone bust it's hardly made any difference ..it's already been done . Thou it's crystal clear that crowds drop when we make teams weaker people still somehow think it's the way to go ..unreal
-
So Belle Vue have never had Monday night as a regular race night in all the years you have followed them ...I trust you suffer from memory loss ? Belle Vue have had Monday night as there race night at the old stadium from what I remember .
-
Poor planning and a massive risk running the meeting so soon after the work
-
Nothing of the sort ..they ran the meeting they were ones in charge ..the track on the night was not fit for purpose and they were told that ..the buck stops with them ...must be a lot of stupid people out there because loads of people came to that conclusion . sadly because Chris Morton was a great rider for Belle Vue the gravy and chips brigade can't see that .
-
Well rather than act like a 2 old child with name calling why not tell us in a adult fashion . Maybe a forum is not a place for if you can't control your temper
-
Spot on .how naïve to think that Morton an co were not there when the track was being built etc If no one was overseeing it then it would still been his there fault as they should have been .
-
Nothing to do with spin .. are you are telling me Morton and Gordon never run tests on the track before the first meeting ..it's a fact that two riders tested the track the week before when they were present and told them it had major problems .of course they took a risk and try to run a big meeting that went ** up . Morton might has been a Belle Vue legend as a rider but as a team manager and promoter he was hopeless and dishonest ..no wonder he was kicked out of the sport
-
Yea it's amazing that people the total blame on the council Sub contractors l etc they are hardly speedway people or riders ..Surely Morton was overseeing the track etc . We all know they had a massive problems with the track prior to the big meeting even or the day but because of the tickets sales etc they try to run it ..a massive mistake
-
unlike how he ran the club
-
Wrong again ..Every meeting in the old days finish on time ..with passing in every heat with no guests .
-
No .everything was better in the old days .how long have you been on this forum
-
? you sure even the Gardening was better in the old days

That was before the internet -
The problem with the club has been the attitude to anyone who the dare question the stadium not being built ...Most Speedway fans not just Swindon fans have given little chance of the stadium being built given that Osbourne Clark has failed to build one about five times before and thou's fans have been meet with your and no fan of Swindon or why do question it as we are better off than teams that have closed down etc etc In the end there comes a time when the club has distance itself from statements like there is a metal stadium ready being built and ready to move down to Swindon asap even if they have been told that . The club should just wait to something happens rather than keep passing on info that the public no longer believes anymore .

it's a tricky one ...my memories of years gone by at Swindon was that the track was very deep to start with . These days it's risk free and very slick from the start . There can be no doubt it's been a poor track for quite a while now and not only that quite dangerous with holes etc ..One of the reasons Nick Morris left was because of it . A school of thought might that the lack of money in speedway is also effecting how the tracks are being set up . -

Sadly it is terminal ..I can't see any way forward ..Each fan at each club must wonder when they will hear that there club is closing down . -

Workington crowds have been droping for years ..each year has been nip and tuck if they ran on or not ...Running on a sat night has hardly been a saviour for them -
