  1. Odd statement to say the least ..why would anyone called off a match 48 hours before hand ? the forcast can change between thou's time . The only sense they spoke was that the track was fine at the start .
  2. Anyone who saw first heats saw that is was far from dangerous hence why no one fell and the racing was ok . if it had stopped raining then we would had more that ten heats as the track was fine .
  3. I am sure there are loads of meetings ..who could forget Belle Vue v Wolves on good Friday a couple of years back . Not sure why this has to do with this meeting as this meeting should have started as the track was fine up to heat 6
  4. No way of knowing who would be leading ? Poole were 7 points up with the likelihood of only two heats left ..I reckon are hazard a guess that Poole might be leading
  5. Spot on ..as others have said at other times Havelock has been more than happy quickly race to heat 10 when suited him an aslo Horton ...so far I have never seen any intergrity from someone winning the meeting when heat 10 comes about .
  6. Another speedway myth ...the crowds had been dropping even before sky come on ....do you really think bar the matches that are shown live that speedway crowds are going to shoot up the moment it's not shown on tv ....
  7. Not just sky thou is it ? Horton done the same v Lakeside and there are many more matches ...once a match starts one side or another is going to try and get the match to heat 10 ...This is nothing new as in the old days teams would try to get to heat six not to give fans a refund .
  8. Yea it's been the same for years ...I thought you said you had been watching speedway for 50 years .
  9. So he never said anything about heavy rain ....Foreever blue said there was light drizzle that stopped a couple of times before it got heavier later ..what Holder has said does not disprove that in any way as you claim .
  10. Most fans on here were quite happy with the first few heats so starting was not a problem ...as has already been said to you your Team Manager was quite happy with the track and gave credit to the trackman . What did Holder say on Twitter ? when did he say there was heavy rain during the first few heats like your claiming ?
  11. Maybe you need to go for longer as the track and racing were fine at the start ...even Havvy said that the trackman had done amazing .
  12. Because Tatum and Pearson said it was light rain ...you would also see it if was heavy or torrential .
  13. Cheers ....glad to see someone can be honest .
  14. Just like the rain was making the track worst v Lakeside ....so as I said no difference between this and that match ...Two matches that was ok to start but never should have never have got to heat 10 ....it's just go's to show a certain type of fan will only moan when the result is not in there favour .
  15. The rain early on was light drizzle just like the Lakeside match it was hardly torrential .....how many riders fell last night in the first 6 heats ?...read Silver Bee's comments about what he thought about the track against Lakeside .....the bottom line is when it suits him Horton will start a meeting and run a meeting to heat 10 if it suits him even if the track is bad or the forcast is poor .
  16. How comes he never called the Lakeside match off the other week ...that was not on sky .
  17. Of course does as can pick who you ride in the semi final giving more chance of reaching the final and the big crowd that comes with it .
  18. As I told you many times at the moment when it comes to guests no one has come up with anything better that includes myself ...When someone comes up with a alternative that is workable then let's us know .. so far 30 or 40 years on no one has hence why we still have guests .
  19. Were these the same fans who were at the Cov v Lakeside match (not on sky ) that was also ran when the forcast showed that it might not run it's course and only lasted 10 heats ? .. to be fair I never heard much from anyone about that match
  20. It's not a fact thou ...no one knew at the start how many heats were going to run ....when the weather and the forcast was like it was last night you have a choice if you are going to go or not and you knew you were taking a risk ....not sure why you are feeling sorry for yourself as it's your own fault .
  21. ?? I watched the match tv and the track was fine for 6 heats I am sure most agree on that ....what do want the new rules to be ..don't start a match on a perfect track in case something bad happens ...during the day bar going on the forcast there was no reason for cov to called that match off on indeed not start the match . When I go to any speedway match myself and more so away matches I look at the forcasts and see if there is likely to be a rain off etc and take my chances ...you must known yourself that last night might have been called off at some stage so you took a chance and went ...no one ask you to and you knew the risks so you only have yourself to blame .
  22. of course you did .there could have been a massive rain storm after heat one and the match would have been called off . there again it might not have rained and 15 heats would have been run ...no one can say how long a match is likely to go on for when the track was fine to race on at the start . The track was fine for 6 heats ...so if rain had stopped during that time then the match would have run it's course ...so there was plenty of chance of the meeting going the distance .
  23. So what did want to happen then ...not run the match in case it rained ? what happens if had not rained ....the bottom line is all you do is get the track ready and fit for racing at the start and that is what Cov did .and but for the rain the match would have ran the full course .
  24. Don't agree with that at all ....the track was fine at the start and fit for racing and if had not rained the heats 15 would have been run ...Speedway can't win sometimes. you get people moaning when matches are called off due to weather forcasts and people who moan when matches are called off when it rains during a meeting . Surely from a home teams view all can do is get a track that is fit to race at start time at that is what cov did ..what happens after is in the lap of the gods .
