With the fantastic help of Alan Jones and David Hemsley we are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first ever evening Ride n Slide experience day under the floodlights at Beaumont Park, Leicester on Saturday October 18th, with track time from 5pm until 9pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience being out on track in the environment that most of the racing takes place up and down the country. Entries will be closing this Sunday coming for the Dragons Clubs' first ever event at the West Row Stadium, Mildenhall. The event is open to all abilities, members and non-members alike. Hello everybody, There is now just a couple of days to go before entry for the Dragons meeting at King's Lynn on Sunday June 22nd closes. This event will feature the long awaited 2013 Club Class Championship that was postponed back in October last year. To qualify for a chance at the title you must have ridden in at least two events with us last year, but you are still more than welcome to pit your wits against the Clubs finest as a guest. It is now just under two weeks until the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club kicks off its 2014 campaign at the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn on Sunday 30th March with a 1pm start. As usual for a first event of the year this will be a Practice/Training event with the Clubs' Training instructors on hand to help with anything you need to get yourself back in the swing after the winter break. It is with the utmost disappointment that we have been informed that there will be no Dragons events taking place at the Old Gun Site , Sittingbourne for the foreseeable future. This is a situation that has arisen and is beyond our control, to say that we are devastated is the biggest understatement ever but we now have no choice but to press on. We are looking into the possibility of holding events elsewhere and will inform via this forum if anything should prove successful. Many thanks for your support, Russ and Cookie.

Speedway Ride n Slide Dayz kick-off their third full season of experience days at the home of the Elite League's King's Lynn Stars, on Saturday March 8th. Bookings are now being taken for this event and places can be secured with a £55 deposit, the balance payment falling due 14 days before the event. Although a full schedule of events taking in other top circuits namely Coventry, Leicester, Plymouth and Mildenhall is currently in the middle of being arranged as the respective teams fixtures have just been released, we have been lucky enough through the co-operation of Gerald Richter at Lakeside to secure a follow up date to our season opener and we will be holding our first event of five at the Arena Essex Raceway on Thursday March 27th. Bookings are now being taken for this event also and a place can be secured by deposit as above. Aside from the tracks mentioned above we are currently in talks with several other Promotions with a view of taking Ride n Slide Dayz to some new exciting venues this season, watch this space !!! Today's season finale (Saturday 9th) for the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club at King's Lynn has unfortunately been postponed due to a waterlogged track from heavy overnight rain and more forecast at lunchtime today. Dragons Amateur Speedway Club winds up its 2013 season with the traditional Big Bash Event at the Norfolk Arena, this coming Saturday, November 9th with a 4pm start time. The event will see the Portsmouth Puma's take on the Huntingdon Hawks in the Club Event while the Chesterfield Cougars take on the Kettering Kestrals in the Support Event. The winners overall will be either the 'Big Cats' or the 'Big Birds' once the scores have been added together, so someone could well go out and register a maximum for their team and see their team win but ultimately end up going home empty handed !! ;o( The presentations after the meeting will also see the awards for Rider of the Year, Most Improved Rider of the Year and Club Person of the year awarded so it looks like being an extremely exciting night at the Uk's Premier Race circuit. So why not see the season out in style, hat, coat, gloves and some top quality amateur racing under the floodlights, it doesn't get much better than this !! Dragons Amateur Speedway Club completes it programme of events on Saturday November 9th at the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn @ 4pm. The event is our much anticipated End of Season Big Bash which features Six teams from the three different riding ability ranges, one team from each group is linked by a theme, a colour or animal, (Kestrels, Eagles, etc) and it is the overall combined score of the theme that will be deemed the winners, so as much as you and your team may win their meeting they can still end up losers overall !!! So sometimes you really do win when you lose !!! The event is open to anyone and everyone as usual and will be followed by the Club's end of year presentations and open forum, to discuss the season just gone and any plans for 2014 etc. We always welcome newcomers to the Club so if we have eluded you all year, now's the time to give the Dragons experience a go before will pull the curtain down on 2013. The Dragons Amateur Speedway Club return to action at the Norfolk Arena for the penultimate time this Sunday (20th) for their Club Class Championship event. This is where the big guns of the Club will go head-to-head for the title on one of, if not 'the' finest and best prepared race circuits in the country. The event is a 12 o'clock start and will also feature Support heats open to all comers, current members or those wishing to join us for the first time for a taste of the Dragons experience. As usual with the Clubs' Championship events you must have ridden with or have had the intention of riding with us if a meeting was cancelled at least twice, however, even if you don't meet this criteria you are welcome to come along and pit your wits against those competing as a guest rider. One rider to look out for on the day will be our newly crowned Intermediate Class Champion, Rob Watts who stormed to an awesome 15 point maximum at The Old Gun Site, Sittingbourne a week and a half ago, by finishing in the top three of the event he earnt the right to join his Club peers in this weekends Championship event, have a great one Rob. After losing our last fixture due to the rescheduling of an Elite League fixture at the Norfolk Arena, it's time to get down to the nitty-gritty with the start of the end of season Championships, starting at the Old Gun Site, Sittingbourne on Sunday October 6th, with a mid-day start. The day will see our Intermediate and Support Class Championships decided, but the event is open to all, whether your a Club level rider or either of the aforementioned Classes, where you are more than welcome to compete as a guest if you haven't reached the qualifying level of three meetings (either completed or intended to but event was postponed) Also there will be the opportunity to practice in between the heats as usual should you not wish to compete in the event itself. This weekends meeting for the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club has been cancelled following the rescheduling of the Stars' Elite League fixture against Birmingham, following tonights rain-off. With the Elite League cut-off date being this coming Tuesday, this fixture is an absolute must for the Norfolk side so naturally takes precedent. The Dragons event was always going to be touch and go with rain forecast for mid day through till late evening but we would have made a decision tomorrow to avoid the possibility of unecessary travel on Sunday. The Club now looks to it's next fixture at Sittingbourne on Sunday October 6th, entries close Sunday September 29th, so book early with the season drawing towards its conclusion and get some of the Dragons experience, its the place to be [so we are told !! ;o)) ] Russ

Following on from the awesome Credit Crunch event that took place at Sittingbourne last Sunday,the Dragons return to the Norfolk Arena for their next event on Sunday 25th August. The Club continues to go from strength to strength, with new members joining on a regular basis. We have been completely blown away that we have already had several riders who have taken their first rides in ther sport with our Ride n Slide Dayz have now joined the Club and taken part in some of our events, the latest of which was a visitor from the Isle of Man who had a bumper weekend last month taking part in his second RnS Day at Mildenhall and then competing in the Dragons event at King's Lynn the following day !! As always, our events are open to anyone and with any size machinery, all can be accommodated. Also, should you wish to practice instead of taking part in the competitive side of things this too can be arranged. The event is open to riders of all abilities and riders will be grouped amongst others of a similar ability, to offer a competitive day throughout. Speedway Ride n Slide Dayz are holding their second Ladies Only event at the Arena Essex Raceway on Friday 23rd August. This proved to be a brilliant day last year with at least a couple of those that took part, returning for this years event ! Like all of our RnS Dayz they are fully inclusive, the only thing you will need to bring should you wish to join us is YOU !!! There is absolutely no need for any previous experience as our 125cc bikes give you the perfect opportunity to take your first steps at riding speedway in a controlled environment. It's fast approaching that time again folks, the Dragons Amateur Speedway Club will be holding their eagerly anticipated MTD Group Credit Crunch event at The Old Gun Site, Sittingbourne on Sunday 4th August. This is the Clubs chance thanks to the continued backing of The MTD Group of companies, to say thanks to all the riders that have supported the Club, by allowing riders to take part for just £15 for members and £20 for non-members. Unfortunately due to event restrictions that have been in place at the Iwade circuit this years event will be a winner-takes-all single legged event, as opposed to the two-legged version that we have held in the past. Dragons Amateur Speedway Club return to competitive action on Sunday July 21st at the Norfolk Arena, King's Lynn following a massively successful Training & Practice Session at Sittingbourne a week ago. The event coming up is open to all, both classes and ages with the option to just practice in between the races should you not wish to compete on the day. You do not need to be a Dragons Club member, as day membership is available. It is a 1pm start and we ask that you arrive a minimum of one hour before so that we can get you booked in and your bikes examined. Entry for the event is just £40 with a guarantee of five programmed rides, although that can be higher as at our last event at the NA, a rider who was covering retirements and had an R/R ride ended up taking to the track no less than NINE times, (and was disappointed when he wasn't in the nominated riders heat !!!!!!) Plans are now well underway for the staging of the first event in the Lakeside Hammers Amateur Series on Friday 19th July, with a 7.30pm start. The event looks set to be a festival of Amateur racing with around 32 heats in total which will include a Grand Prix style main event for Development League level riders looking to put themnselves in the 'shop window' for National League places, youngsters from the Hagon Shocks Academy on bikes up top 140cc and some local quad racers and all for just £5 admission for spectators, yes, that's FIVE POUNDS !!!! There are plans to run the series over four rounds dates permitting with the overal winner receiving a very exciting prize from one of the events sponsors. It is just £35 to enter the meeting or just £15 if you have attended the Training School on the morning of the event.
