Good luck to everyone at Oxford for next season and beyond. A local derby against the Robins in the top league is the dream next for 2023. Shame all the groundworks at our stadium site are probably being done for housing!!! Looking forward to attending the Poole meeting on 20th April with a few fellow Robins fans. Question is, who do we support?! The historic scum (Oxford) or the new scum (Poole)!!!

I think you mean the stadium demolition is progressing well!!. I guess the site needs to be flattened before they can think about putting houses on it!! I wonder what the excuse will be not to build once the old girl has been demolished meaning there is no way speedway could even run on the old site.

90% of Swindon fans knew it would never happen, we just thought we would always have the old girl to fall back on which was fine especially after the track was reshaped. But now we know there is no option to return to the old stadium lay out we know its over.

I live locally and can confirm that nothing has happened. No one is surprised to be honest. Tomlinson (local MP) has stopped answering questions when you ask him anything on twitter. He couldn't wait to come out and say he had saved speedway in Swindon but now he realises he has been made a mug of by Osborne he isn't saying a word. I suspect enough houses have been built now that they have made a tidy profit so they can afford to let the land go to ruin for a few a years and then appeal to the council that they may as well build more houses up there at that point. It was the plan all along no doubt. Feel sorry for the speedway people like Rosco and Lee Kilby. Speedway is finished in Swindon.

Yeah he couldn't wait to be pictured outside the stadium with a shovel or be interviewed over the PA at a meeting when apparently good news has come out. Ask him a question about the delay tho and he's not interested. Can't wait to see what rubbishe he comes out with when the housing is announced.

Yeah how hard it is to build a stadium that's sat in storage and ready to be put together. I did ask Tomlinson on twitter which was in storage longer, the stadium or his pre written statement about why houses are now going on the site but he didn't respond!

Got so much time for those guys. Swindon through and through. But even they must know deep down its the end . Myself and my mates I stand with accepted a long time ago the new stadium was never happening but we could accept that whilst the old girl was still standing. Osborne has said no one will be back at the old stadium and to me that says it all.

Why on earth do people still think it will ever be built. How many stadium rebuilds has Osborne seen through? And his words in the last sentence of the statement say it all. No fans will be back until they are in the new stadium. If that's not the final nail in the coffin then I don't know what is. They have been waiting for an excuse to say its not happening and get the houses up. It's no secret that Terry Russell has been looking to get out for years which no one can blame him for. He's been immense for our club and kept it going and given us title winning teams. But with all the uncertainty in 2021 this just seems a perfect opportunity for everyone just to say that's the end. No one in their right mind is going to take on the promotion of a club in these circumstances. I don't blame Russell one bit if this is the end. I've been going for 35 years and feel gutted today as I'm sure all of the realist Robins fan do as well.

You would have thought the club and the management would have learned from all the other let downs and just kept quiet but instead it's retweet after retweet about it being great news. And Tomlinson has piped up as well. He will go quiet again when nothing happens and we want answers.

I genuinely feel sorry for the people responding on twitter who think it will be done. They are in for a massive let down. Does anyone on here genuinely believe it will be built? The way I see it going is that there will be more and more excuses until there are complaints about the noise at the current track and we will be shut down. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but these bandits have a 100% record in not delivering and no doubt they already have plans for the money they will make when the speedway is closed and the whole site is sold for housing.

Hopefully late again. Can't see why people want to be standing there in mid March when it's freezing cold and then have loads of blank weeks in the summer.

Yeah there is nothing to be afraid of when you look at other teams. If the top 4 ride to form then we only need a bit of improvement from the other 3 and we will be ok. Hopefully they are patient with Rowe.
