I can't see TR being involved in it now. The stand and the sound barrier will get built and then the houses will be done and everyone will earn a few bob and hopefully disappear into the sunset. If Gaming continue to own the stadium land then I'm sure it will be left to go to ruin before another planning form goes in for it to be torn down for more housing. At least if someone else buys it and keeps it going as a sports stadium then we have some hope.

There is a fella who was involved in the greyhounds at Swindon who has tweeted some drone pictures of the progress of the acoustic barrier and stand. He also said in one of the comments that there were rumours of a bookmaker buying the stadium once its complete. I assume this would be good news for us as they would want the rental income that speedway would bring in.

Just listened to the Tomlinson interview from yesterday. Still no answers to what has actually gone on but at least he's having a dig at Gaming. Its a toned down version of what I would have expected from the club if they were distraught at going out of business but at least he's saying something. Will be very interesting to see if SBC stick to their guns re planning permissions.

Yep. The minutes from the meeting contained that letter from him saying the dogs were closing. GI saying they aren't. So someone is lying. If Gaming are blagging and making TR look a liar then why doesn't he come out and call them out. The only person who has shown any sort of aggression towards the GI BS is Tomlinson in that statement he released after the news broke but time will tell if SBC stick to their guns so I won't get too hung up on that. The whole thing stinks and no one has done any sort of proper investigation into it. Its just accepted that we have folded and they will expect it to go away. This is where the adver or the local news need to step up and ask some proper questions to the club, Gaming and Tommo and get to the bottom of what exactly has gone on. It's very clear the only people suffering are the fans. It all seems to have worked out perfectly for everyone else involved.

The 2007 was unreal in terms of away support and we all thought we would do it after the 1-5 in heat 1!!! We were back on the road to Swindon by heat 11 though but had to move a few cars out of the way in the car park with the help of fellow Swindon fans making a similar early exit!!

Just drove past the stadium and loads of work going on on the old main car park side. Haven't seen that many people working up there since they demolished anything that could ensure speedway could ever run again with the old layout.

The problem is with him is that you get all talk and no action. But I will say one thing, he has made a dig at GI which is something the club didn't do. In answer to your question above, I feel totally let down by the club. They appear to have rolled over for GI and the formation of this new company yesterday is a p*ss take. Its pretty clear the decision was made a while ago to close the dogs, probably to force the speedway out. And Gaming would never build a new stadium no matter who is involved. The moment I saw Swindon Motorsports had 2 Gaming people involved I knew it was a joke. The final insult in it all.

The club is dead so all we can hope for now is that SBC keep refusing a change to the planning permission and the site just sits there empty earning GI and others absolutely nothing. No doubt Swindon Motorsports has been set up so they can say they need the funds from the housing development to build a new stadium and people will believe it again and the houses will get done with no sign of a stadium. It's all too predictable.

Its not aggressive at all. You were fighting a campaign that you would always win because GI wanted the stadium completely gone. We never had a chance of saving speedway.

Yeah that limited time with Ward in the team was unreal. What a rider he was and he definitely got the crowds in. Doyley will always be a Robins legend after leading us to 2 titles as captain. The last year at the reshaped track was probably the best I can remember racing wise as well.
