Time For A Revamp Of The Gp's?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to dtc's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Whilst I see merit in the sentiment of your point it would mean all of the riders entering the qualifiers or you would have he distinct possibility of a number of the genuinally top riders not in the series the next year. With the number of weekends needed to facilitate it this it would be logistically difficult. -

Well done to Richie. I hope the BSPA (or someone!!) can put together a package to give him half a chance to compete without it wiping out his finances. -

It is quite obvious that a shake up is needed. All Poles,Swedes,Danes need to be banned for at least five years(oh and Yanks and Russians) and all eleven rounds need to be run in the UK. The federations of the banned nations will be required to pay all the costs of these meetings so that all income from them can go directly to the BSPA due to the wine cellar for the AGM running dangerously low. Of course the BSPA will promise to set aside a tenner for the development of young British talent unless of course ther has been a run on the 1972 Chablis forcing a price spike. -

Whatever happens we will end up with a very strong reserve which will be vital to any hopes of success. Hope that last weeks great showing from Cam is a sign of things to come also. -

You seem to be ignoring my last post that he did exclude Nicki immediately after he had considered his decision by which time the race had ended. I am glad to see that you think it was the right result but am amazed to see you still argue it was against the rules!! I note from following others threads that to get into a tennis match of replies with you could involve me needing to book the week off work to do it justice with the risk that you to find one line in 300 posts that might contradict a point I made 3 days and 25 pages ago so I think I'll end my contribution here! -

... immediately disqualify any rider he considers etc... Perhaps it took him 3 seconds to consider his decision and then he immediately disqualified Nicki and it just so happens that by that time Greg and the race has finished. -

Crump was classified as 3rd and THJ 2nd - neither crossed the line but were declared in those positions by the ref as those were the positions they held when Nicki was rightly excluded and Greg completed the race. Not really very difficult unless of course you happen to be someone that wants to start an arguement in an empty room!! Are you Nicki in disguise!!??!! -

Seems like very good refereeing then - it would have an easy reflex to hit the red light button (and unfairly make Greg and THJ go again) but he stayed calm and thus allowed himself to be able to call the fair and just result. But Greg did finish as the race was never stopped. Ref then calls result at time of incident that prevented further finishers. -

Had assumed red lights but youre right no stoppage! So he finishes the race and ref right to call places at time of incident. -

What a t***ser Nicki is. Ridiculous to say THJ threw it down. -

Had Greg crossed the line though? If he had then its called at the time of the incident - if not technically should be re run however harsh that seems. -

How can Nicki even think about complaining to the ref!! Shows just why so many fans dislike him so much. Shocking!! -

With Mat picking up a couple of better scores Morten may well come back at reserve. -

Surprised to see no one has commented on the fact that it was all but announced on live tv that barring any reaction to his practice spins that Morten will be back in the side within a fortnight. -

Well done to Plymouth last night. You are close to being a very good side and the changes you are calling for could well do the trick if made.Glanz impressed towards the end last night - not incredibly quick but rode intelligent lines to keep Dak behind in 14. -
