  1. You can blame Jason Doyle for Mortens new style - he let him know in no uncertain terms that he was too slow into the corners when collecting an exclusion at Foxhall a few weeks ago! Kerr could easily have put Hawkins into the tractors down the back straight turning left himself on Thursday so may well have been a recall from the Hawkins memory banks in the return. Overall Id say its a good thing to see that kind if passion from both sides as it made for 2 great contests. However I would temper that with the fact that I wouldnt want to see matters get out of hand.
  2. Probably not but a foreigner in on a 5 should stay on a 5. If they are not good enough to maintain that average then they shouldnt be here or the team takes the hit until they can meet 5+.
  3. Granted it is all rumour. I presume the request was a bit earlier than 3 or 4 days as it was being talked about at Foxhall last Thursday so notice wouldve been at least 8 days. The next blank date in the Foxhall fixture list is September so I would doubt the date wasnt offered. Oh well looks like the finalists (whoever they are) will be swapping Christmas cards again!!
  4. As I mentioned inan earlier post if you are going to dish it out you have to expect some back. That said I dont like to see riders turning left for or against my team.
  5. Heard Ben say to a reporter in the pits after Thursday that the defeat had to be a wake up call.(dont know if that was in the papers?) Seems like it was going by the weekend results. Shows we can compete at the sharp end of the table. Agree with MrBeerhut that its such a shame that this week is a blank date.Perhaps others see what a home fan sometimes cant and are runnung scared!?
  6. Probably goes back to Thursday when Kerr was turning left himself. Hard and borderline unfair. Obviously dont know exactly what went on tonight. All that aside what a great result for the Witches. Updates seem to indicate it was quite some match.
  7. Apparently Edinburgh have turned down the blank date at Ipswich this coming Thursday (13th) due to being scheduled in the Sky meeting 2 days earlier!!
  8. Very sharp from the starts and yes it was the difference between the sides. (and no rollers!!)Richie W commented to me afterwards that he always felt the Diamonds 'just wanted it that lttle bit more' and thats why they won. A spirited display from the Witches last night it seems so lets hope for more of the same. I would love to see Leigh silence a few critics with one of of hus usual Brough Park performances. If he does it could be close. Head says Newcastle by 10 or more but as ever the heart hopes for more! Up the Witches!! We want 5 - We want 5!!
  9. Very happy with a point. Welcome to Ipswich the real Ben Barker!!
  10. Feeling positive about this one today. Witches to sneek a draw.
  11. Even when the Witches took that early lead on Thursday it still felt like the Diamonds were the ones looking the sharpest. The Witches will need to inject that fire into their bellies to be competitive. I hope and expect that it will be a hard fought battle as a result. I can however only see a Diamonds win by 10 or more. That said wheres yheres hope you never know so heres hoping!! Up the Witches!!
  12. My first thought was that he wouldnt fit but fair play you appear to at least have something right for once. Would be bang on 42.50 I think. Too big a gamble for me. Til now has always come back and hit his form quickly but surely there is only so much the body can take. I certainly wish him well though.
  13. Can I just say thank you to the riders who happily signed autographs last night for my son. He was a bit nervous but it made his night. Even managed to get George English ( dont tell George he only wanted his book passed to Andy Tully!!!) Had a brief chat with Richie W and Andy and both more than happy stop packing up and talk. A credit to the Diamonds.
  14. Not touching the tapes doesnt mean its a satisfactory start (anyone not just Robbo!!) In athletics you can get a false start despite not going before the gun. The blocks measure the reaction time and if lower than what is considered humanly capable then its called back. The roller is Speedways equivalent.
  15. Id imagine it down to work and family commitments and the small matter of costs. Many are picking and choosing their home meetings let alone travelling away.
  16. I think most Witches fans would be happy to pick up a point. A tough place to visit and unless a couple of the home riders have an off night very easy to get a hammering. Certainly the Witches are capable of an upset but Id say thats what an away win would be seen as - an upset.
  17. I much prefer it when Robbo misses the start anyway - he can be a joy to watch.
  18. At this rate Cook will be making more appearances for other teams than Edinburgh!
  19. Jack Reacher the film is BASED upon the books by LeeChild. In the books he is 6'4" but in the films he is...... Tom Criuse!!
