  1. What strange new rule will enable Edinburgh to manage to turn around the near 200 race point difference in 1 match?
  2. The wink at the the end surely gave it away that I was just teasing!! So just for you.... Well done Cookie for a masterful display of unabounded class and unmatched skill.
  3. Not the wrong thread at all. I was genuinely interested to see what the Monarchs chose to do. I took the heat 11 comments as Deek doing the bulk of the work - 'Deeks outside move allowed Cook through on the inside' (wink)
  4. That same Wolves duo turned over Ipswich in similar fashion. I seem to remember they scored 39 between them in a 45-44 win at Foxhall using both r/r and t/s rides!
  5. Possibly because the title of the thread is 'team of the year' and not 'team of a couple of months in the middle of the season ( and then only when I can be bothered)'
  6. This is Speedway so still time to change the rules. I say switch to a 4 team mini league play off. Rebels/Monarchs/Diamonds/Witches. I wont hold my breath for a Jenga like on this post though!!
  7. This is where you are confused. I dont think there has been even 1 Witches fan that has stated that Cook was anything other than MAGNIFICENT. Infact it was that level of dominance that made the choice not to give Tabaka gate 2 and therefore a better chance of a heat advantage so puzzling.
  8. I will play devils advocate here re Leicester dropping a fixture to have an level playing field. IF this was adopted as the way forward then surely the fixture to drop from Leicesters record would be away at Rye. Still Redcar througgh then!
  9. Id say an extension of the cut off is logical so long as its practical and timely. ie can it be run in say the next 3-5 days. After that it would severely interfere with the planning of the play off dates. If that timesale is not possible or indeed it is felt that any extension would cause planning problems then its bye bye Leicester however harsh that may be.
  10. spot on a 5-1 against woukd have made no difference to the Monarchs getting a point but the way they played it gave them less chance of getting the advantage. before the start the group I sit with felt that with Cook off 4 it would be 50/50 as to them getting a point but with him off 2 90/10 in the Withches favour.
  11. Re updates - they should be biased!! They are provided by the home fan after all. I quite enjoy the Worky Whoops etc!! Re Monarchs updates - refer to the above. Also its not like its a closed shop - if you want to join you can and you are not blocked fron viewing if you dont. Re Cook - Id say last night was the best individual performance at Foxhall this year (excluding team riding) Ben still top if team riding included! Some of his efforts have matched the best I have EVER seen.
  12. My apologies - for Redcar replace with Redcar/Leicester *delete as appropriate
  13. I think r&r meant it wasnt clear who would choose who.Top will pick Redcar and first thought is that 2nd would pick Worky but Ipswich for example may feel happier going to say Newcastle instead or Edinburgh may fancy another crack at the Witches rather than Worky. I actually think it may be best not to have the pressure of a pick.
  14. Id say the report from TheScotsman is far from biased and actually a pretty fair assessment of the night. Witches were solid Cook was majestic and we won because we didnt run last places. Interestingly both teams will probably feel they could do better so that sets up any potential play off clash very nicely!
  15. Weather doesnt look good for the 2nd try tomorrow (13th) Was intimated tonight at Foxhall that restaging would be Monday if calked off again. Monday would certainly be difficult for guests as almost everyone is riding!
  16. Just a week to go now! The Witches have looked a bit off colour this last couple of meetings but are capable of pulling out a decent lead to set it uo nicely for the return leg. Will stick my neck out for a Witches win by 8 which would leave the Diamonds as favourites to take the aggregate win.
  17. That would appear to be the case as it fits with what he said to me.
