  1. But for NL teams the'asset' system works rather differently I beleive.
  2. or the fact EOES was quoted (East of England Showground)
  3. they will need a weeks holday to edit the multitude of suggestions on various threads when the real limit is finally announced!
  4. as you highlighted -IF its 36. I can only see it that low if more than 2 join the ranks. With 12 teams Id expect perhaps 38.
  5. thats the one I had in mind when I posted about the risks earlier!
  6. But heat 15 is counted and most likely in theory lowers yhe points limit. At heat 14 all 7 have had 4 rides and the average will be 42. In 15 the riders taking part will normally be the high scorers with 8+ points to their name but between them they can only score 6 points meaning the overall team average will fall. 36 points wont be an overall weakening if adding teams to the league. A Prem teams converted average would be under 30 so if 2 join a lower overall average is needed unless you can pull in an extra dozen 'top end' riders which in todays climate isnt going to happen.
  7. That side only looks awful through the eyes of the current set up. With a league of 12 (or more)teams and fewer high end riders re costs then it should look much more favourable. 2014 is more likely to be like a PL+ than a traditional EL level. Without that type of change you may find yourselves in a 3 team league with Poole and Coventry.
  8. But he couldnt be a 3rd heat leader in a league with a 36-38 point limit - unless you had 4 3 pointers to finush it off.
  9. Ive heard as well as Leicester and my Witches that 2 other clubs are/have been discussing the option of moving to the EL. If so a 36 point limit woukd be a necessity to even the playing field whilst also providing the lower cost platform required. If its just the 2 then 38 could work but still wouldnt be a big surprise at 36.
  10. Any news yet TNT? Im eager to know just how rubbish I was this year!! Thanks for your efforts once again. Adds a bit to the fun even when youre having a disaster like me!
  11. But of course TWK there would be a play off and the Berwick representative could drop his pie and lose out to a thrice reheated Poole burger!!
  12. A bit risky naming two riders before Poole have set the rules at the AGM! wink.
  13. I think 4 of the 8 named are 'assets'. Leigh always has been - he was always loaned out. Morten was purchased when we went PL. Cam and Rohan have only ever turned out for us and there has never been anything to suggest they signed anywhere else first. Indeed much had been made of them as new assests to rebuild for the future.
  14. Witches fans would all welcome Scotty back anytime. As a No 1 some would have reservations although gor me that would depend on the set up of the league. If it was like for like as now then I see him as a 2nd or 3rd heat leader but with an expanded 12+ team league and the inevitable lower limit that would come with that then he could still be a No1. Interesting times ahead over these next few weeks.Lots of detail still to be thrashed out before we know the answers.
  15. 2 leagues seems certain - just a matter of whether the Elite has 1 or 2 or more additional teams. That balance will determine any shift in points limit/team make up.
  16. Still feeling gutted that my Witches team didnt get to this one - I was hoping to make one last contribution to Statmans excellently produced programme! I feel the Rebels have too much strength in depth. Davies is like a 4th heat leader at home. The only way the Monarchs can win is for it not to take place IMO.As a neutral I think I can get away with saying that where a Rebels fan would be accused of smugness or arrogance. Good luck luck for Monday ...or Tuesday....or Wednesday... or whenever!!!
  17. Firstly all the best wishes to Tabaka - whatever the rights and wrongs of the Morris move the most important point is his well being. In truth his withdrawal had little impact on last nights score - perhaps 1 point. However r/r at Somerset will make the Monarchs weaker - they may now lose by 24 rather than 20. wink!
  18. Well done to the Rebels - Monarchs only hope now is constant rain of biblical proportions and the first leg being called as the final result!
  19. Im a jealous Witches fan looking out of my window and blue sky and sunshine - wouldve been a perfect day for a play off final here in Ipswich today!! Best of luck to both sides - whoever wins will deserve it because they have done the business when it mattered most. I think the Monarchs need at least 10 points advantage to put the pressure on. Gotta fancy the Rebels overall bit you never know! Hopefully it wont be the weather that has the final say.
  20. Theres a first time for everything ! SCB is speechless! wink
  21. Dont agree. They are not blocking spaces for NL calibre riders. The perenial sub 4 point foreigners are blocking those spaces if anyone is.
  22. Should be British based riders if not British riders only. Also think any Brit should be allowed regardless of average. 3 per team is too many though and it is this part that has caused most problems IMO.
  23. Surely the final deserves its own thread - hard to believe no one has bothered!
