I dont see why there seems to have been this 'regular clarification' of the situation when the rule is so clear. There are paragraphs in the rule book that are open to interpretation due to poor wording but the section in this regard is crystal clear.

Had Gollob declined the wildcard he would never have been announced as one and a new pick would have taken place before anyone even knew about it.

I have seen it mentioned that this may be one of the changes. The top 3 in the averages have to be at 1 3 and 5 but at the teams discretion as to the positioning. Havent seen anything official though.
