  1. so imperious that he had to cheat to win - a bit of a contadiction in that somewhat!
  2. As the rolling averages for either month would contain meetings from 2013 then neither can really be considered a reflection of current form so makes no difference either way IMO. May as well announce the qualifiers and let them get on with promoting to the fans from those teams rather than a last minute when people have made other plans.
  3. Looks like Jo will have to make sure his average drops below Greenwood to be sure to keep his place then! Strange this Speedway lark sometimes eh?
  4. Utter codswallop! There have been 73 EL meetings so far and there has not been 37 where heat 9 has not involved 4 riders. So no way ' more often than not ' as you put it. I dont have the number that has but I would hazard an educated guess at around 7 - less than 10%.
  5. the score will be nothing like that as no tacticals. Somerset are so good at home that you wouldnt be surprised if they win big but I hope for it to be a bit closer. Would be happy with 55-35 to be honest.
  6. Lawson Doolan Auty Lindgren Wolbert all at no1 and have had meetings like this and Morris Fisher Kennett not far off something similar occaisionally. Thats why they average 7-8.5 and not 9.5-10. At least with Worrall you see the potential that he could/should move into that next bracket. Support and back him is the way forward IMO and certainly not hound and sack him.
  7. There isnt one. Tom Perry would have his own PL average anyway. Sorry dont know what it is.
  8. Very happy with a point. Thanks to Baldy and updates for the details. Good for us to be on the pace at a throttle wide open circuit so hopefully bodes well for Somerset on Friday.
  9. It was a joke!! Re fixture changes the Witches have this week blank and it seems no other team was willing/able to bring their visit forward for that so no doubt the same for the week before. The selected date was always the reserved slot for the cup round so the possible clash wouldve been known before the start of the season.
  10. just so eveyone is fully informed can you please re post this at 2.55 under a new user name of oldace+1
  11. for the facts about alcohol visit drinkaware.co.uk/jengabig smiley!!
  12. The theory is a safety issue. If the rider was to go off 15 from gate 2 and one of the riders off 1 or 3 broke down 5 metres from the tapes the likely hood of a collision is greatly increased. From 4 it should be less likely given the expected funnell into turn 1.
  13. I think Somerset should call it off after all we can only have a NL guest fir Adam - need to be fair to the fans!!
  14. Good luck with that - probably 50/50 as to whether you will even get a reply let alone a satisfactory resolution.
  15. And in contention right til the last heat where as in recent years we have been the team tailed off and making up the numbers. Its a start without which you cant look to get to the middle and then the end eg rostrums and then winning. At least now there is some kind of plan rather than just leaving the youngsters to sink or swim.
  16. If the Witches could pull off a win it would represent a remarkable turn around since Good Friday. Realistically even with the Panthers having a couple of issues at present Id say most Witches fans would see a point as a huge success. Where theres the will there is always hope though and the Witches wont have a better time to feel confident than right now after thumping Somerset.
  17. many have said that those passes that do take place are only as a result of a mistake. I would hazard a guess that those in the youth championships may well be more prone to the odd mistake hence the increased passing opportunities perhaps.
  18. and of course why would Howarth be replaced having won 3 of 4 heats. Great effort from the boys - good to see us competitive in meetings like this again. So near and yet so far but lots of positives can be taken from this surely.
  19. Ritchie is enjoying his speedway again and I think being made captain of the Witches has also had a positive impact on him. Long may it continue.
  20. Polish updates showing 37 37 34 with the Czechs winning a run off??? They have Howarth winning heat 1 not third with Holub position reversed???
  21. unfortunately you seem to have this post stuck on copy and paste function at present.
  22. Very much a confidence rider and he has certainly found some since being dropped by Swindon. Very fast indeed when out in fresh air but often suspect in traffic particularly on the first turn. Must be so frustrating to have him in your side when he is on a downer knowing what he can be capable of.
