  1. If Darcy had a mate called Chris who married a woman named after a rock, went double barrelled and opened a bra shop his mate would be ... Chris Boulder Holder. (especially for those who thought this thread wasnt silly enough already!)
  2. I agree with the sentiment behind your post but when you look at the reality it can be penal to a team with stronger reserves but more balanced top end. Look at Ipswich last year having to use a NL reserve in place of Adam Ellis averaging 4.7 whilst Newcastle were able to use r/r for Lewis Rose averaging 4.1 which meant he could be replaced by the reserves just under 4 and the rider at 4 in the averages who in that case was averaging over 7! Similarly the Newcastle No6 could have a 'real' guest despite averaging a point less than Adam.
  3. the article about the Parliamentary group mentioned the awards were sponsored by Travis Perkins - small scale in itself perhaps but hopefully there are similar irons in the fire for the leagues
  4. When are the various state championships? Had a look on MA website but couldnt find any dates listed.
  5. I think it means its a speedway that he is involved in and the position he holds is that of director.Rather like any other company really! As for moving forward I read that to be about tye evolution of the 'fastrack' and doubling up and the hint that in future the PL could adopt its own 'fastrack'
  6. a PL system is the place for those you quote at the bottom of your post IMO.Unfotunately despite some indication this may well be the plan in future years(see Louis piece) it isnt in place for 2015. Hopefully a few teams will choose to offer PL places to that band of riders anyway.
  7. So its as you were in terms of team building for the PL in 2015. Hopefully we get some news of the team in the next few days.
  8. didnt the EL want to reduce prices last year?? They didnt due to PL pressure alledgedly. So surely last years excess income will offset any rise in costs this year! wink
  9. The big question mark for me in the EL is tge choice not to address the inequality in averages caused by last seasons format. Simply increasing the limit is just a paper over the cracks job. There will now be some teams that sign 4 heat leaders while others only have 2.
  10. The big decision for me is the double up change to allow 2 seasons only. Could be some big decisions ahead for a number of riders.
  11. it unfairly penalises whichever side its used against IMO - home or away.
  12. i think youre getting your Pokemon mixed up with your Skylanders!!
  13. How about this for a conspiracy theory. The FIM plan a ban - say 8 months like the Danno precedent. Darcys defence is a technicality with the testing procedures. The FIM know they have screwed up and will have to drop the case. However to ensure he has to sit it out the hearing keeps getting shifted back until the 8 months is up. And before anyone asks yes I am bored today!
  14. If Darcy was.... a magicians assistant - sawed meeting a drug dealer - scored doing an impression of a lion - roared
  15. Ben Howe when did he become ex PL? Do you know more about the Monarchs team plans than the rest of us!
  16. if the 2014 remains unchanged there are on cats at 8,7,5 and 3 for the PL.There is no manual assessment to award anything different. Edit misread the quoted post initially. Can see now you didnt mean he should be assessed at 4 rather that you feel thats all he will acheive.
  17. If Darcy was.... a heavy sleeper - snored disinterested - bored punched in the face -floored.
  18. the Danish league wasnt professional enough going by the Brady Kurtz assessment last year so dont see that he should be anything other than a 5.
  19. my post wasnt meant to be a pop at Scunny - no other club has done as much in recent times to provide opportunties for new British riders. It was much more a lament at the continuing erosion generally. By the way Ipswich has a decent record of using/nurturing British riders when measured against the norm. Certainly when taking into account restrictive stadium use conditions which means any practice outside meeting days is impossible.
  20. only if you call deliberately fencing someone a fight! Classy to laugh about about it and high5 in the pits after as well.
